The light heavyweight division is one of the oldest of the "original" divisions, and Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol is but an extension of the division's history. It's a necessary fight that nearly everyone wanted. The International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York has been around since 1990, and there aren't too many history podcasts out there where the hosts have nearly 30 years of IBHOF voting between them. On this episode of the Knuckles and Gloves podcast, two IBHOF voters discuss a number of fighters on the modern ballot. Which fighters are deserving of the vote? Which are deserving of being on the ballot? Which aren't? Who SHOULD be on the ballot that isn't? We tackle these questions and more! SUBSCRIBE! Follow us on social media! Welcome to an all-new wrestling podcast - with a twist! Have you ever dreamed of putting together your own dream wrestling roster? Who would make the cut? Who would reign as your World champion? Well, join us as podcasters Paul McGrath (Phoenix Five Podcast, What's The Story 90's Glory?), Ash Rose (HOW Mania, Alive and Kicking, The 90s Football Podcast) and Chris Tetreault-Blay (Dead Men Talk, Once Upon A Turnbuckle) as they do just that! In this first season, the guys need to build their roster. Week-by-week, they will take a different division and each will come armed with 2 superstars from the 90s who they feel should be part of their wrestling promotion. For each of our hosts, one of their picks will be a guaranteed entry onto our roster and one will be a 'wild-card', up for discussion and debate, with only 1 of the 3 wild-cards making it to our wrestling promotion. Kicking off the series - the Light-Heavyweights! The 90s saw the golden age of the light-heavyweights, with ECW and WCW showcasing the talents of the luchadores from Mexico and many other 'small guys' from around the world who all helped change the face of wrestling throughout the decade. Which superstars will be up for discussion today and, most importantly, who will make the cut? Enjoyed this episode? Issac Headsplitter Hardman overcame the Michael Zerafa loss to come back with the knockout of the year and wants Andrei Mikhailovich! Super grateful to be joined by Issac "Headsplitter" Hardman. If you're a fight fan and you don't know Issac, you need to YouTube his MMA & Boxing highlights. If you love knockouts, you'll love Issac! Issac is a dominant fighter. He went 9-0 in professional MMA picking up three Australian titles and fighting international fighters. He wasn't just winning, he was knocking out everyone. He took a few Boxing fights in between MMA fights and was expected to lose every time. Only, he won against reputable Boxers by devasting knockout after knockout. So D&L gave him a contract to fight on Foxtel, Kayo & Main Event regularly!! Issac went 12-0 against Australia's best Middleweights, Super Middleweights, and Light Heavyweights. Unfortunately, as he was within reach of touching a world title shot, Michael Zerafa stole the show. Issac talks about the experience leading up to the Michael Zerafa fight and how the promotion teams basically set him up to lose from the start. There were tactics being thrown at him with allegations of racism to purely throw Issac off his game and well, it worked. But he's coming back for redemption. He's started his quest with a knockout that will likely win the global Knockout of the Year award, YouTube it! He wants to take out Andrei Mikhailovich either next or soon. Claw his way back to the Michael Zerafa fight and take what is his! Thank you Issac for your time and it was awesome speaking with you! Enjoy Fiji mate, you have earned it!!

For the 20th In Your House event, there was No Way Out of Texas! The main event was supposed to be the team of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Owen Hart, Cactus Jack, & Chainsaw Charlie (Terry Funk) taking on Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and the New Age Outlaws. But after Shawn Michaels injured his back at the Royal Rumble, he's out until WrestleMania 14. Someone else has to step in...and let's just say...the reveal is less than impressive. Also on this card, we see Kane and Vader do battle, The Nation of Domination try to stop from imploding, the NWA stable try to stay relevant with Jeff Jarrett leading the way, the Light Heavyweights in action, Marc Mero attempt to stop Sable from always stealing his spotlight, and Goldust just get weirder and weirder. This was a show sandwiched between two great pay-per-views and it wasn't blowing the doors off anything, but this certainly wasn't bad.ALL PODCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, & MERCHANDISE LINKS: linktr.ee/MainEventMarksCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.com & bonfire.com/store/maineventmarksGET YOUR SPORTS SWAG ON FANATICS: fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKMORDER FROM SWIFT LIFESTYLES: SwiftLifestyles.com, use PROMO CODE: MainEventMarks at checkout for 15% offLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9PM EST: tikilive.com/channel/BURNS Learn more about your ad choices. Remember to follow the social profiles -@highfieldboxing Redemption is a strange journey because the biggest battle is often with the demons within. Saturday saw Anthony Yarde battle his inner demons and overcome everything, to restore his reputation as one of the best Light-Heavyweights in the country and world right now. It is also time to reward Tunde for his effort in orchestrating the whole operation. He is much maligned, often for sinister reasons, but is easily one of the best trainers in the country right now, as he has been for a while.

We got a tremendous weekend of fights set for Saturday from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Carson, California to the London, England, suburbs. And, we're ready to break it all down on the latest "Big Fight Weekend." Host T.J. Rives is back with Sr. Writer from BigFightWeekend.com, Marquis Johns, to go over the news of the week and bring on special guest, Crystina Poncher of Top Rank Boxin/ESPN's play by play call of the Saturday night Joshua Franco-Andrew Moloney third fight for the WBA Super Flyweight title in Oklahoma. The last Franco-Moloney bout ended in controversy and a "no decision" late last year, now the Australian Moloney wants his title back that the Texan Franco took from him by dominating him in fight one. Crystina gives her insight on that, the fight card and the fact that she and WBO Women's Featherweight champ, Mikaela Mayer, will become the first women's duo to do live play by play of a men's championship fight. This as they call the bout on the ESPN International feed (outside of the U.S. and Canada). T.J. and Marquis have the latest on Unified Welterweight Champ Errol Spence having to withdraw from fighting legend Manny Pacquiao next weekend due to an eye injury. This means that Cuban Yordenis Ugas will replace Spence on the August 21st PPV. The guys discuss that matchup. They also preview and have the odds/fight picks for the WBO World Bantamweight title bout in California on Showtime cable, as John Riel Casimero of the Philippines defends against another Cuban born star- GUILLERMO RIGONDEAUX in a scheduled 12 rounder. T.J. and Marquis also preview and have picks on unbeaten Welterweight Vergil Ortiz of Texas who is 17-0 with 17 KO's fighting a veteran contender. And, the Matchroom Boxing show from just outside of London where two Light Heavyweights clash in the main event. Callum introduced himself on the world stage in 2018 with his war against Artur Beterbiev, however he has only fought once since then and is in boxing no mans land after a dispute between his coach Joe Gallagher & his promoter Eddie Hearn means he has been left without a fight date. We hear from Callum what the update on the situation is and if it will be resolved soon. We also dissect all of the latest boxing news including Canelo's free agency! We think this is certainly THE BEST ONE YET. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Welcome to the 6th Round Retro Post-Fight Show, featuring a look back at UFC 40: Vendetta, with Tito Ortiz vs. Ken Shamrock and Chuck Liddell vs. Renato Sobral, from 2002. This is the show that digs into the archives and gives you a comprehensive review of classic MMA events, that span as far back as UFC 1. Join Eddie Mercado & Victor Rodriguez of Bloody Elbow as they relive this UFC PPV (Pay-per-view) event this week, complete with results, analysis, and of course a few laughs. On November 22nd, 2002, UFC 40: Vendetta, a small eight-fight PPV card, chock full of finishes (6 of the 8 happened in the first rounds) with NO decisions on the card, went down from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. So, the main event that night showcased Light Heavyweights, The Huntington Beach Badboy Tito Ortiz, who was coming off another in a long line of wins via Unanimous Decision against Vladimir Matyushenko at UFC 33, with a 10-1 professional record and was entering the octagon against fellow American and MMA veteran, Ken ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’ Shamrock, who had a professional record of 25-7, but was coming into the fight off a loss via Split Decision against Don Frye in a Pride 19 bout back in February. In hindsight, we know Shamrock would only win three more bouts in his professional career, as this was just one of many losses he had to face before retirement after a loss to Royce Gracie in 2016. In the co-main event we had Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell, with an impressive 11-1 record, beating his opponent, Renato ‘Babalu’ Sobral that night via KO/TKO-Head Kick in just 2:55 of Round 1, despite his storied 20-4 record. Also on the card, we had a young Robbie Lawler decimating Tiki Ghosn with a KO/TKO via Punches at just 1:29 of Round 1 and an exciting battle in the featured Prelim bout between Andrei Arlovski and Ian Freeman. Let’s take a look at the card, complete with fight results: Main Card: MAIN EVENT: Tito Ortiz DEF. We even throw in some Kanye talk and ponder about presidential freakiness. This show's really got it all.
This weekend marks the return of the Superman, Adonis Stevenson as he squares off against Dmitry Sukhotsky. With all of the chaos surrounding Stevenson's dodging of Sergey Kovalev, Adonis has much to prove in his second and final fight of 2014. Former top prospect and current top ten super middleweight Andre Dirrell looks to continue his rise through the 168 pound division as he takes on Derek Edwards. Perhaps the most intriguing fight of the night features the heavy-hitting super prospect Artur Beterbiev as he looks to extend his knockout streak while working towards an inevitable clash with top dogs Adonis Stevenson and fellow countryman Krusher Kovalev who sit atop the mountain of light heavyweight supremacy. Jay-Z has officially entered the fight game with the announcement of his first production dubbed,"Throne Boxing," on January 9th at Madison Square Garden. The event will be headlined by Washington, D.C. area native and welterweight prospect Dusty Harrison.
