To fill the football shaped holes in both our lives Alex and I teamed up to put together an in depth analysis of the teams currently vying for the Champions League spots. Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester are all out of reach so the teams we concentrate on are from Chelsea down to Arsenal in the league table. After the worst gameweek of 2019/20 we are sure there are many of you that are panicked, but most of the time calmness and a level headed approach is as good as any transfer! Another week and another disappointing return in Fantasy Premier League. The only comfort we can have is the tightness of the competition and the fact that all the averages have been low, so everyone is struggling. However we once again try to find a way to get you ahead of your family, friends and foes in your mini leagues or ranks. The International Break is almost over and so we try to make some sense of all that has happened up to GW8 in FPL to help you with the fixtures ahead. We have tried to notice trends, evaluate teams and also offer advice in the Community Questions section. We also end on a funny Chit Chat section as usual.
We have a different approach to this week's show as we were joined by Peter Blake, also known as Math Safe FPL. He offered us great insights and strategies to FPL from a very stats heavy mindset that has seen him be successful in previous seasons. Using his amazing algorithms he also tells us who may be under and over performing in all positions plus gave us wise words for how to play the game in your own way. It is a really insightful and useful episode that answers many of FPL's most debated questions touching upon Premium Switching, Form or Fixtures and the best way to evaluate who to bring in.
GW6 initially looked like a poor one but some substitutions made our scores more palatable. With more data behind us there are certain trends that appear to be emerging and we try to guide you through the players who have good stats and good matches in the coming weeks. A poor GW5 and a continued bad output by the "Big at the Back" template from the start of the season seems to indicate that a 3-4-3 is now the way to go with so many cheap forwards putting in good performances and outputting great data.
