LUKE BROWNING TO HIT THE TRACK IN ABU DHABI FP1 AND YOUNG DRIVER TEST Atlassian Williams Racing is pleased to share that Williams Racing Academy Driver Luke Browning will drive Alex Albon's FW47 in the first free practice session at the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and will participate in the end-of-season Young Driver Test. Luke joined the Williams Racing Driver Academy in April 2023 following his stand-out 2022 season where he secured the GB3 Championship and won the 2022 Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award. Since joining the Academy he has continued this upward trajectory, winning the Macau Grand Prix in 2023, also taking pole position and the fastest lap, and finishing the 2024 FIA Formula 3 season in third with two race wins and a podium in Monaco. As part of the Williams Racing Driver Academy's proud tradition of giving young talent a path into F1, Luke has regularly driven in the Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) and simulator programmes with the aim of preparing him for the future. He has balanced this with a successful FIA Formula 2 campaign, currently occupying third position in the standings and going into the final two races of the season in a fierce battle for the title. Luke Browning: “It's going to be an unforgettable weekend in Abu Dhabi fighting for the Formula 2 title while getting back behind the wheel of the FW47, and it's a challenge I'm going to relish. The Young Driver Test will give me a final opportunity to help the team prepare for 2026 and I'm looking forward to being part of a Formula 1 weekend for the last time this season. Thank you to everyone at the Driver Academy and Williams for the trust once again.” Sven Smeets, Sporting Director, Atlassian Williams Racing: “Luke's development continues to impress us, and we are looking forward to closing the season with him behind the wheel of the FW47. We have an incredibly talented group of drivers in the Williams Racing Driver Academy, and it is important for us to give them the opportunity to progress as they move up the ladder. These final sessions of the season will give Luke another valuable chance to learn from Alex and Carlos, the wider team, and further embed with our trackside operation as he looks towards a bright future.” Mighty Sunbeam 1000 HP to Make Post-Restoration Debut at 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance  Harry Segrave beside the Sunbeam 1000 HP. (Photo: Courtesy of the National Motor. Museum) PEBBLE BEACH, CALIFORNIA (November 12, 2025) — The mighty Sunbeam 1000 HP, the first car to achieve a land speed record of 200 mph, has been asleep for over 90 years. But a team of restorers at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, England, is now in the process of gently waking this giant—and if all goes as planned, the restored beast will make its US debut at the 2026 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance before attempting a centennial run at Daytona the following spring.    “The process of restoring a one-off car like this takes real dedication,” noted Concours Chairman Sandra Button. “There is no pattern to be followed. It takes time and research, effort and expertise. We are thrilled to know that the National Motor Museum intends to send the restored car to Pebble Beach, to share with enthusiasts here.”   The Sunbeam 1000 HP was built to compete in the race for speed. The 100 mph barrier was first broken in 1904, and then it took more than two decades to reach 150 mph—a record Malcolm Campbell achieved in July of 1925 at the wheel of a Sunbeam 350 HP. The Sunbeam 1000 HP, crafted around two of the marque's powerful 22.4-liter Matabele aero engines placed to the fore and aft of the vehicle, came into being less than two years later and proved to be revolutionary. Driving it on the smooth sands of Daytona Beach on March 29, 1927, Harry Segrave recorded a speed of 203.79 mph.   “This car has been at Beaulieu since before I was born and feels like a member of the family, but one I never expected to run again,” said Ralph, Lord Montagu of Beaulieu. “Watching the restoration take place has been fascinating as it has revealed so much I never knew about the car. It will be quite a thrill to have the car at Pebble Beach and is a great opportunity for us to wave the flag for the National Motor Museum!” The car's restoration is now well underway. The rear engine has already been disassembled, re-machined, restored, and refitted into the frame—and it was first fired up before an adoring crowd at the Beaulieu International Autojumble in early September. The museum team is now focused on restoring the front engine. When that, too, is back together and in place, the bodywork, which has already been restored, will be reinstalled.   “Over the last three and a half years, the Museum's team have worked tirelessly to make the mighty Sunbeam 1000 HP roar again, with help from a wide range of supporters, stakeholders and heritage engineering specialists,” said Jon Murden, Chief Executive of the National Motor Museum. “Having experienced the first of the car's remarkable engines running once more, we are all now thrilled at the prospect of the Sunbeam returning to the United States for the first time in a century.”   John, the second Baron Montagu of Beaulieu, was a motoring pioneer, who campaigned for the rights of early motorists. In the 1950s, his son Edward founded what is now the National Motor Museum to honor him, and that museum shares a long history with the Pebble Beach Concours. Edward first showed a car—his 1913 Alfonso Hispano-Suiza—at Pebble Beach in 1981, and the following year, he donated the Montagu of Beaulieu Trophy, which the Concours presents annually to the best British car shown on its competition field. Ralph, the current Lord Montagu, was in attendance at the Concours this year.   To learn more about the National Motor Museum and its efforts to restore the Sunbeam 1000 HP, go to www.nationalmotormuseum.org.uk/USA.

What if you're not in this city by accident but by assignment? Daniel understood that before anyone tried to rename him, God had already purposed him. He settled his allegiance early and refused to let Babylon own his heart. He learned the system without being shaped by its idols. Ten times better in skill, unwavering in worship. And when excellence couldn't be attacked, his worship was. God met faithfulness in the fire and turned pressure into promotion. The Freedom of Surrender: Forty Devotions for a Joyful Life in ChristFind joy and freedom in surrenderLetting go is hard.To surrender is to let go of what we tightly grip, the good and the bad. It's a relinquishing of control, a recognition that God alone can meet our deepest needs. It's a holy pause that entrusts each hope, each worry, and each pressing concern to the One whose love for us is beyond measure. And in this surrender, we enter into freedom. But, even so, letting go often feels easier said than done.In The Freedom of Surrender, author Mary DeMuth invites you to journey through forty days of entrusting specific areas of your life to God―your inner struggles, your family, your expectations, your regrets, your ministry, your grief, your relationships, your job, your health, your finances, your future, and more. Every daily devotion includes Scripture, prayer, and Mary's original art that help you cast each care on the One who cares for you.On this forty-day journey, you'll learn:How to trust that God is in control, even in moments of chaos and stress.True joy and freedom can happen when we release what we're holding too tightly.God's plan is to see you thrive and grow.Prayer opens the door to freedom and peace.Even in your struggles, you are never alone. When we entrust our stresses and worries to God, we embrace the reality that's always been true: Our “control” is an illusion. God alone can meet our needs, heal our wounds, and guide our steps. From this place of total reliance on God, we can experience deep joy and the peace that passes understanding. What are you holding too tightly? Experience freedom as you invite Jesus to help you surrender all.Purchase a copy of Making Marriage Easier here.Connect with Mary DeMuthWebsite | Facebook | X | Instagram | YouTubeMary loves Jesus. And really that's the most important thing about her. It's not writing or speaking or praying or mommying or any other -ing you can find. She flat out loves Him. Why? Because he has utterly, truly, completely re-storied her. See her testimony below. She has three adult children, and she's been married to Patrick for 33 years now. Mary counts those relationships as the most important people in her life. In the mid 2000s, their family helped plant a church in Southern France–a difficult, but amazing experience. In her spare (ha!) time, she loves to cook, run, garden, decorate, paint, and do interior design. You can find all her artwork here. She's been writing for 30+ years–half of them in obscurity. She mentored many writers during that time, and continues to do so through the Rockwall Christian Writers Group and some of her  instructional books. Mary pioneered a literary agency in 2022, Mary DeMuth Literary, where she shepherds writers toward traditional publishing. She currently lives in North Texas, serves in her local church alongside her husband, and she's had the privilege of speaking around the world in places like Johannesburg, Monaco, Geneva, Munich, Port-au-Prince, Nice and Florence. Although her past story is difficult, her current story leaks adventure. Not only has Mary been restored and restoried, but she longs to see the same for you. You no longer have to live haunted. I believe your new story starts today. Carl Bard wrote, “Though no one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.”Paul reminds us of this important truth: “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT). Living in retrospect is a bad idea. It's time to heal, be set free, and find the new story God has for you. Mary has experienced God turning her storm into a story, moving her from a bitter story into a bigger one. Won't you join her on the adventure?

In episode 311 of The Just Checking In Podcast we checked back in with journalist Christian Hewgill. We first checked in with Christian in December 2022, in JCIP #160! At that point in time, he had recently left the BBC where he worked on BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat programme as a reporter and presenter for five years, and was working freelance. In 2025, he is still working freelance but in 2023, his old work colleague, Radio 1 presenter, DJ and superstar Greg James messaged him to ask him to form a super-team of presenters and co-host a new Formula One podcast, ‘The Fast and The Curious'. Alongside Greg and sports journalist Betty Glover, they began carving out a unique space in the F1 podcast space, being able to cater to F1 aficionados and new, casual fans, young and old alike. Since then, the podcast has exploded in popularity, with the three of them hosting live shows at F1 races at Monaco and Silverstone, securing interviews with the top stars in Formula One, including drivers like Lewis Hamilton and George Russell and Team Principals like McClaren's Zak Brown and now worldwide star and former Team Principal for Haas, Gunther Steiner. As well as this new adventure, Christian co-hosts another F1 podcast, ‘F1 Explains', which is aimed at helping people learn more about the sport – and is an official Formula 1 podcast. In Part 2 of his journey, we discuss this massive change in Christian's journalism career. We talk about how he's adapted to the increased level of fame he now has, some of his favourite episodes, his relationship with Betty and Greg, his growth as a presenter and the reality of running a podcast, even one as big as FAC. For Christian's continued mental health journey, it hasn't been as plain sailing in the last three years. First of all, in 2023, his relationship with his then partner of 10 years ended, which naturally caused a lot of mental health difficulties in adapting to life without that person in his life. Then, also in 2023, Christian's mum was diagnosed with dementia, which took hold very quickly, and his dad had to take on a new role from purely loving husband to full-time carer for her too. In addition, Christian's dad also had a heart attack, which naturally caused Christian a lot of stress and upheaval. Thankfully, Christian is now in a new relationship, and engaged! However, his mum's dementia has remained difficult to deal with on a weekly basis. We discuss the grief he has experienced for the loss of the person his mum was, the relationship breakup, his dad's heart attack and his relationship with his dad now, following his mum's dementia diagnosis. With the 2025 road racing season now firmly in the rear view mirror, join Daniel Friebe and Lionel Birnie for a freewheeling ramble through some of the big stories that have hit the headlines in the past couple of weeks. We start by discussing the fragile nature of survival at World Tour level with the news that the Australian team Jayco-Alula came within days of possibly folding, and the delays to confirmation that two Belgian teams, Lotto and Intermarché, intend to become one. Where does that leave the riders, especially Intermarché's biggest star Biniam Girmay? Then we indulge in a bit of off-season speculation and wonder what Tadej Pogačar's 2026 season might look like, particularly with a number of race organisers making changes seemingly to entice the SlovAlien to ride. The Vuelta a España starting in his adopted home town of Monaco is not a particularly subtle overture and it seem an appealing prospect but, as we discuss, the picture is more complicated than that. Bribe, Inc., a documentary film exposing a significant bribery scandal within the global oil industry, focusing on the Unaoil company and the Ahsani family. It highlights the collaborative efforts of an anonymous whistleblower, investigative reporter Nick McKenzie, prosecutor Tom Martin, and anti-corruption activist Alexandra Wrage to reveal the extent of the crimes. The film positions bribery not as a victimless offense but as a harmful practice with far-reaching consequences, emphasizing its connection to other illicit activities and its detrimental impact on democracy. This film is a real-life political thriller that exposes one of the largest corporate bribery scandals in modern history. Told through the lens of whistleblowers, investigators and journalists, the film uncovers a trillion-dollar corruption network stretching from oil fields in Iraq to boardrooms in Monaco—and all the way to the halls of power in Washington. Directed by Emmy Award-winner Peter Klein and co-produced by investigative journalist Calyn Shaw, Bribe, Inc. reveals how corporations, politicians and regulators conspire to protect a global system built on secrecy and profit. Described by The Guardian as "cloak-and-dagger," and praised by Variety for its "explosive" revelations, the film challenges audiences to follow the money—and confront the cost of complicity. As global enforcement of anti-bribery laws weakens and trust in institutions collapses, Bribe, Inc. emerges as a cinematic gut-punch—an urgent demand for accountability in a world where corruption is routine. It's an incredible story (and backstory).

The House of Grimaldi has ruled the tiny principality of Monaco since January 8, 1297, when Francois “The Spiteful” Grimaldi disguised himself as a monk and knocked on his uncle's castle door, launching a coup. In the violence that followed, according to legend, a woman – possibly a lover of Francois, possibly a witch he had wronged (can't it be both?) – issued a curse that has resonated across the centuries: “Never will a Grimaldi find true happiness in marriage.” The Grimaldi family was considered scandalous enough in Queen Victoria's time that she forbade any of her close relatives to marry into it, leading Prince Albert I of Monaco to marry an American heiress in 1889 – a precedent that would matter decades later when Prince Rainier III, urged on by none other than shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, began interviewing Hollywood A-listers for a very special role: Princess of Monaco. Which is how Grace Kelly abandoned the big screen for the Rock of Monaco, and would go on to celebrate her 40th birthday in High Scorpio style. Listen ad-free at patreon.com/trashyroyalspodcast.
