In today's episode, we talk with two Youth Fellows from the Texas-based organization, Jane's Due Process, founded to help Texas teens navigate judicial bypass. Because Texas now has a complete abortion ban, young people must travel out of state for an abortion. However, judicial bypass is still required in some other states. Listen and learn how young people are activated in the fight for abortion justice, and how we're holding our community as we fight back the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

We talk to Community Organizer and Abortion Advocate, Kathia Garcia, about being eldest daughters in Latine households, how our obligations since our youth led us to community organizing, and the ways in which joy and rest are acts of resistance in a time where every day it feels like we're fighting an uphill battle for our liberation!

In today's episode (which is so late I apologize!) we have two formidable scholars, Dr. Celeste Montoya (she/her) Associate Professor at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and political scientist in the Department of Women and Gender Studies - as well as Mariana Galvez Seminario (they/them), undergraduate student and also Dr. Montoya’s co-author in her most recent published article Guerreras y Puentes: The theory and praxis of Latina(x) activism. Here we talk about the importance of Latinas' as organizers and leaders within coalition building. such as leading non-profit organizations and becoming beacons of hope for the future of Latinx representation.

In today’s episode, we have Maricruz Osorio, a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at UC Riverside! Maricruz is a McNair Fellow, APSA (American Political Science Association Fellow), and recipient of a Latino Fund Grant. Maricruz’ research asks why do some immigrants, and women in particular, with different statuses (DACA, undocumented, asylum seekers, and refugees) engage in risky political behavior. And by risky, or the uncertainty of the outcome, there doesn’t appear to have the same repercussions across different citizenship statuses. In this episode, we talk about women in political science, community support amongst scholars, and books that have saved our lives.

In this episode, my guest is Abbey Nawrocki, host of the "Well, that's a problem!" podcast. In today's episode we talk about the SCOTUS decision on reproductive freedoms, what that means for women of color, and how to organize around this issue.

In today's episode I talk about the need for non-Black Latinas to educate themselves in how to become aware on the anti-Blackness our community perpetuates. With the rise of the nation-wide protests around the country due to the murder of Ahmaud Aubrey, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, we as allies have to do our part to educate our community, share our platforms in solidarity, and support Black women in the fight for justice.

In today's quick rebirth episode, I talk about some of my insecurities as Guerreras began to get popular among the podcasting world. And why because of that, I needed to take some time away to rebrand and give birth to the new vision I have for Guerreras and my role within it.
