It really is a interesting listen! 33 ECB First Class umpires are attempting to walk the equivalent distance of walking from the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan to Old Trafford, Manchester and back in 3 months. The total distance is 9,436 miles! Any monies raised will go to 3 worthy charities: PCA Cricketers Trust https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/thefirstclasswalkpca Prostate Cancer UK https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/thefirstclasswalk British Asian Trust https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/the-first-class-walk The distance to be covered is almost the distance that they would, as group, cover on field whilst umpiring during a domestic cricket season. The idea for the walk came during the Covid 19 lock down, to not lose the miles that they would normally cover. Please be generous in your support as the umpires set out either on foot, by bike, or on a rowing machine to cover what will prove to be a significant challenge.
