SURPRISE! We're back! Just in time for the Oscars, your co-queers have decided to drop a very special episode of Queers in Space. Today we delve deep into the movie Call Me By Your Name which, even though mentioned as a sleeper hit in the podcast, is actually a huge hit. It's nominated for a bunch of Oscars on Sunday, one of which should go to Timothée Chalamet for his performance as the adorably emo Elio. Before you gear up for the big night on Sunday, give us a listen. We'll be back with new episodes soon, so thank you for your patience! Remember to like, subscribe, and share with your friends and family.

Good evening, sweet princes. We thought we'd make a romantic, surprise return to your ears. We've been gone for a while and we've missed you. In this episode--recorded in August, shortly after the white supremacist march in Charlottesville, VA--your queers speak on social media's role in anti-fascism, privileges and accompliceship, and dope acts of praxis. Philip talks about a run-in with Nicole Richie, Kar talks about the Lizzie Borden film Born in Flames, and we each gush over the LA treasure that is Angelyne. Good to be back in space, baby.
CW: Suicide. We have risen from the Dea(th: Part I)! We are back this week with Part II of II of our discussion on death. We bring to you stories of our own dead, some haunting experiences, reading recommendations, and our favorite representations of death in media, sweetie darling. We also talk about queering death and queer proximity to death. We get a little heavy (note our content warning), but we always have a good time. We'll see you in space, lovers!
Content Warning: This episode is about death. We discuss mild violence and have mild graphic descriptions. We thwoorp over the line of good taste and into the subject we cannot get off our lips: DEATH. What happens after we die? Philip wants to become a science experiment courtesy of Coca Cola. Tips for making the most of a salad bar. We provide a walking tour and a ringing endorsement of Hollywood's Museum of Death. We talk about voyeurism and our "favorite" celebrity deaths. For Part 2 of their time-travelling journey to 1997, Kar and Philip focus on three main things: Death (their favorite subject), Movies (maybe their second favorite subject?), and Heaven’s Gate, the cult associated with Hale Bopp, the comet most visible in 1997. At times irreverent—okay, always irreverent, Kar and Philip turn in one of their funniest episodes yet. Give a listen to their thoughts on Princess Di(e), Austin Powers, and Philip’s field report in another installment of Queers in Space Queering Space in which he talks about his camping “adventure.” Enjoy! See you in space, lovers!
After taking on 1967 last week, CoQueers Kar and Philip decided to take on 1997 this week! They had so much to talk about, what with Titanic, Hannah, and Princess Diana, the episode had to be broken up into two parts. In this first installment, Kar talks about meeting one of their best friends; Philip tells us his coming out story, and they both go in on Titanic. Don’t forget to tune in next week for Part 2 of 1997. Enjoy Part 1, and we’ll see you in space, lovers!
Welcome, lovers! In this week's episode of Queers in Space, Philip and Kar will be turning on, tuning in, and dropping out as we discuss the year 1967 direct from the epicenter of the Summer of Love, San Francisco. Fresh from a trip to the de Young Museum, we travel back in time 50 years and see what the hippies were so trippy about. The clothes! The music! The politics? Two major revelations of the day involve macrame and Spencer Tracy. See you in space!
On today's menu, Queers in Space takes on Bob's Burgers! Join CoQueers Kar and Philip as they discuss everything from Jean's keyboard to Tina's love of butts. There are a few meandering conversations, journeying from Sex and the City to being bullied by now-A-List movie stars in their childhood. But, fear not, for we always find our way back to Wonder Wharf and the lovably, sometimes messy, Belcher family. See you in space, lovers!
This week, in honor of Pride month, Kar and Philip dedicate the entirety of Queers in Space Episode 5 to all things PRIDE! Join the CoQueers as they briefly examine the history of Pride and how it helped both of them find their queerness, while at the same time revealing itself as problematic on several levels. They discuss Stonewall, Target, and yes, even Zima. Make sure to listen to the whole episode to catch Kar's Queer Summer Reading Recommendations and the CoQueer's dedication to the Pulse nightclub victims. See you in space lovers, and if you go are going to pride this year, be safe, wear sunscreen, and don't take any shit from the police.
Sigourney Weaver with a flamethrower? Multiple Michael Fassbenders? A semen-filled robot? No, it's not one of CoHost Philip's wet dreams. It's EPISODE 4 of QUEERS IN SPACE! And this week, Kar and Philip take space rather literally by discussing the ALIEN franchise. With that mess a movie Covenant out right now, your CoHosts thought it best to really dive into the queerer aspects of xenomorphs, facehuggers, and Ripley's perm. Along the way, they discuss colonialism, alien gender, and, yes, even an episode of the Golden Girls. Make sure Jones is nice and safe and tuck yourself in for hypersleep. Next stop the stars! See you in space, lovers.
Attention cadets! Queers in Space has landed on planet NOSTALGIA! Join Kar and Philip as they navigate the "complicated" terrain of past, present, and future. They discuss their relationship to physical space, dead family members' furniture, and, yes, Stockholm syndrome. They answer questions like, Where does the melancholy of nostalgia come from? What's with all these TV and Film reboots? Are cats time travelers? And, wait, Hot Topic was actually punk AF, or was it? If you're thinking nostalgia is complicated, "you're not wrong." Also, be sure to check out Kar's killer report from RuPaul's DragCon in our segment, "Queers in Space Queering Space." And special shout out to Coyote Meat for providing our new theme music! ENJOY! LISTEN! QUEER!

What does it take to make a good Muppet host? Spoiler: everyone wants to fuck John Denver. Or is it Bob Denver? We also say things are adjectives when they're nouns. Blast off with us, dahlings.
