As promised, we went to Bethenny's Supermodel cafe and despite all you have read and seen about the establishment down the street in East Quogue, we have a few things to say. Seems the town of Southhampton as well as New York State does too considering their violation notices, fines and what not. In other Hamptons news, Margaret Josephs has some Golden Life drama as things with the OG RHONY crew tend to be a tad bit different than hanging with Teresa and gang. Crystal Kung's RHOBH future is not at all what everyone expected. RHOBH films the new season as Dorit and Erika chat. Everyone seems to be coming for Shannon these days both on and off RHOC. This fractured fairy tale is more horrific than you thought.Join BP, Coop and Justin as we do a deep dive review of the 2025 Norwegian satirical, black comedy, body horror film 'The Ugly Stepsister' (Den Stygge Stesøsteren), written and directed by Emilie Blichfeldt, in her feature film directorial debut. An international production mostly in Norwegian, it is loosely based on the 19th century fairytale "Aschenputtel" by the Brothers Grimm, itself a retelling of the French fairy tale "Cinderella"; unlike most versions of the stories revolving around Cinderella, it focuses instead on one of her stepsisters who embarks on a grueling quest to capture the heart of a handsome prince. It stars Lea Myren, Thea Sofie Loch Næss, Ane Dahl Torp and Flo Fagerli. The film had its world premiere as the opening film of the Midnight section of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on 23 January. It was also screened at the Panorama section of the 75th Berlin International Film Festival on 16 February. It was theatrically released in Norway on 7 March by Scanbox Entertainment, in Denmark on 28 May, and in Sweden on 13 June.It was nominated for the Best Makeup and Hairstyling Award at the 98th Academy Awards. The Ugly Stepsister is available to stream on Shudder.Follow the Complete Guide to Horror Movies podcast on our social channels below.↪ TikTok↪ Twitter↪ Facebook↪ Instagram↪ YouTube↪ Shop our Store!↪ Tip us $5↪ Linktree↪ LetterboxdChapters00:00 The Ugly Stepsister: Welcome to the Nightmare01:35 First Impressions: A Surprisingly Brutal Cinderella Story05:25 Why European Horror Hits Differently06:45 Favourite Parts: Music, Alma & the Dreamlike Fairy Tale10:30 The Horrifying Beauty Procedures15:25 The Toe Scene: One of Horror's Most Brutal Moments17:45 Tapeworms, Gore & the Physical Effects20:10 The Prince, the Ball & the Cruelty of the Characters22:55 European Horror, Nudity & Why It Works25:40 The Ball Scene: Editing, Suspense & Elvara's Breakdown28:40 Costumes, Makeup & the Real Cinderella Transformation31:00 The Ballet Teacher, the Chocolate Scene & More Weirdness34:20 The Darkest Part of the Story: Abuse & Beauty Standards36:45 Least Favourite Parts: The Worms & Small Production Gripes38:00 Music Choices & Inconsistent Colour Grading40:00 Editing Problems & the Tapeworm Could Have Gone Further42:00 Should The Ugly Stepsister Be Remade?44:00 Ryan Murphy, The Substance & Hollywood's Adaptation Problem46:00 Could Looksmaxxing Become a Body-Horror Movie?48:00 Beauty Standards, Masculinity & the Modern Man49:15 Ratings: Is The Ugly Stepsister a Horror Masterpiece?50:50 Final Thoughts & Podcast Outro#theuglystepsister #bodyhorror #cinderella #familyguy #horror #movie #horrorfilm #splatter #deathscene #scarymovie #horrortok #completeguidetohorror #horrormovie #scary #creepy #graphic #deepdive #paranormal #shudder

It's that time of year again—the September issue is back and this year is Chloe's first September issue as Head of Editorial Content at American Vogue. Fifteen years ago, before she interviewed at Vogue, she watched the 2009 The September Issue documentary to prepare herself for what was to come. Now it's her moment to be at the helm of the issue celebrating “the January of fashion.” Co-host Nicole Phelps and Vogue's Director of the Global Fashion Network, Virginia Smith joined Chloe to talk about their favorite stories from the issue and the behind the scenes mania of the elaborate photoshoots. They began by discussing the cover shoot photographed by the inimitable Steven Meisel starring Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere, two of the leads from Ryan Murphy's adaptation of The Shards by Bret Easton Ellis. This cover, featuring the young starlets in beautiful Chanel, calls back to the 1992 cover shoot of their parents Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere, shot by Herb Ritts. As far as the fashion message being conveyed in the shoot, Virginia explained, “We kept talking about this idea of designers looking back at the past to reinvent their future, and that tied in with the whole nepo-baby thing, and certainly made sense for our cover stars.” In her Editor's Letter at the front of the book, Chloe spoke about connecting with the cover stars over their shared experience of having famous parents and her embrace of the “nepo-baby” label. Homer, in particular, is new to the limelight and Chloe called him up. "Look, as someone with famous parents, you can run away from it, but that's not gonna work,” she told him, “And you should be proud of your parents. I'm proud of my parents—they've certainly made me who I am.” Nicole then spoke about Nathan Heller's deep dive with Demna. “[Demna] accomplished so much at Balenciaga and I think that has given him an assurance that he can take on this new challenge of Gucci. And he's really leading with fun.” The story includes a portrait of Demna, which was shot just days after the flashy Times Square resort show. Anna politely, but pointedly insisted that he not show up in all black, and he obeyed her wishes, showing up in a white t-shirt. They also noted a few other standout stories including Gaby Wood's profile of Marta Ortega, who has been responsible for leading Zara into the future over the past few years, Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin's maximalist train car shoot featuring the West End's favorite actors, Mattie Kahn's profile of conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and Adrienne Miller's conversation with Julia Louis Dreyfus about her upcoming Broadway debut. Also on today's episode, Chloe and Chioma caught up after Chloe's family trip to France. They discuss Chioma's latest Nicole Kidman cover shot by Venetia Scott and written by Giles Hattersley. “She's just got such presence,” Chioma noted, recalling a starstruck moment she had while greeting her at the Met Gala, “this kind of quiet, sphinx-like presence.” They also chat about the book club pick and Chioma's upcoming travels to Switzerland and Greece! Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere are Vogue's September cover stars! They had the glow of two people running on adrenaline and very little sleep when they joined The Run-Through for their first joint interview just ahead of The Shards premier day. The two stars of Ryan Murphy's new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis's book were candid, funny, and clearly delighted to be doing press together for the first time. Asked for her elevator pitch, Gerber, a Ryan Murphy veteran who counts herself among Ellis's biggest fans, called the show a "seductive drama thriller" following privileged teenagers at an elite 1981 Los Angeles prep school as they collide with obsession, identity, and violence. Gere, for whom this was his first-ever podcast interview, offered a punchier synopsis: Euphoria, he said, "if it was in the '80s and was also a horror and was also Glee."  Much of the conversation turned, fittingly, to what makes Ellis's work so unsettling in the first place. For Gerber, the answer lies not in the show's more graphic moments but in the eerie flatness with which her character and the rest of the cast greet even the most traumatic events. "A lot of the horror comes from the lack of reaction to the horror," she explained. Gere agreed, describing it as less shock than slow-building dread. The two also traced the emotional throughline back to their September cover shoot, photographed by Steven Meisel. It was another first for Gere, though Gerber has worked with the photographer since she was thirteen. Watching him find his footing on set, she said, felt like he'd "been doing this since you were 13." Gere and Gerber had the intimate, inside-joke energy of two people who've spent the better part of a year together on set. There was the cast's six-person group chat, unfortunately nicknamed "The Sharts"; Gere's failed attempt to sneak home a pair of the show's leather pants, which he wore, by his own count, for six months straight, and the very sweet wrap gift that Gere chose for Gerber.

Ryan Murphy spent five years as an engineering manager at Yelp on the team that owned the infrastructure behind every dollar moving through the company. He got the job the way a lot of people do, which is that his boss had no budget for a real engineering manager and asked if he'd try it.Most of this conversation is about the move from engineer to manager: what the job actually is, what he looks for before he'll move someone into it, and why he calls it a career change instead of a promotion. That last part is something I got told when I made the jump and completely ignored. I thought I was getting a bigger version of my old job.He also runs EM Accelerator, a training program for engineering managers, and Crying on the Sofa, a set of free mental health events for people in tech. He talks about the night that started the second one, sitting on his couch holding his newborn son. What we covered:The engineering manager archetypes, and how to spot which one a company is really hiring forWhat he watches during a production incident before he'll consider promoting youWhy the strongest engineer on the team is often the wrong pickWhy management is a career change, not a promotionWhy there's so little real training for new managers, and what he teaches instead of one-on-one templatesWhether a manager has to be regulated themselves to lead wellWhy he started Crying on the SofaWho should not become an engineering managerHis take on AI flattening orgs, and why he thinks people-focused managers matter more, not lessFind Ryan:EM Accelerator: https://www.emaccelerator.com/Crying on the Sofa: https://www.cryingonthesofa.org/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryansmurphy1Newsletter: https://www.softwareengineeringtimes.com/

She reflects on the limitations of binary gender and the importance of creating enough safety for each person's unique expression to emerge. The conversation moves into Yolanda's longtime practice of A Course in Miracles and its teachings about forgiveness, ego, nonattachment, and remembering who we truly are. Yolanda also speaks movingly about her relationship with her late husband and soulmate, Rev. Glen Ganaway. His unconditional love helped her feel at home in herself, and their shared spiritual practice became a foundation of their life together. After Glen's sudden death, Yolanda experienced a profound shattering that eventually opened into what she describes as a second awakening. She shares how grief, spiritual community, and experiences of Glen's continued presence have deepened her trust in the eternal nature of love—including an extraordinary experience while filming her role in The Beauty around the first anniversary of his passing.Together, they explore: Growing up gender-nonconforming in Alabama before language for trans and nonbinary identities was widely available  Finding affirmation, freedom, and possibility through the Radical Faeries  How unconditional love can create safety for our authentic identity to emerge  Moving beyond binary gender and releasing judgments that block connection  Building bridges of compassion through music, performance, drag, and ministry  Using A Course in Miracles to recognize ego-based thoughts and return to love  What it means to be sustained by the love of God  Grief as a second spiritual awakening  Trusting the ongoing connection between souls beyond physical death  Letting things be exactly as they are instead of resisting life's natural changes This soulful conversation invites us to welcome every moment—whether it contains grief, fear, anger, joy, or infinite love—as part of our healing and spiritual unfolding.Connect with Rev. Just looking at the music you've gathered over the years can give you insight into who you are and what you're about.   Whenever the hosts of "How We Heard" dig into their music collections, they always seem to find out more about themselves - sometimes more than they're expecting.   The guys are at it again on this week's episode, which prompts a free-flowing conversation about everything from old jazz to electronic dance music, from the glory to the pitfalls of live albums to the vague joy and uncertainty of rediscovering old albums they don't quite remember.   They discuss artists ranging from Radiohead and Beck to Santana and Ravi Shankar and focus on far-flung singer-songwriters including Aimee Mann and Ron Sexsmith.   Hosts Chuck Campbell and Wayne Bledsoe, both veteran music critics, also talk about how they handled reviews of Christian rock for the mainstream media as well as how they dealt with artists who used obscenities in their names or song/album titles.   And they dive into the past of Ryan Murphy, acclaimed Emmy-winning producer/director/screenwriter of TV's "Glee," "Nip/Tuck," "American Horror Story" and other shows as well as film adaptations of "Running With Scissors," "Eat, Pray, Love," "The Normal Heart" and "The Prom." Wayne explains what Murphy was doing in Knoxville, Tennessee, in the 1980s and what was he like back then.   When was the last time you really looked at your music collection? It could take you places you don't expect to go.

For years, Jordana Brewster quietly lived with a life-altering diagnosis that few people knew about. After suffering a seizure at 28, she learned she had a cavernous malformation (CVM), a rare vascular condition in her brain that made carrying a pregnancy dangerously high-risk. While continuing a successful acting career, she privately managed her condition, navigated fertility treatments, and ultimately chose gestational surrogacy to grow her family. In this candid conversation, Jordana joins Mary Alice Haney to share the emotional realities behind IVF, infertility, surrogacy, and the difficult decisions that come with protecting both your health and your dream of becoming a parent. She also opens up about undergoing awake brain surgery, overcoming the stigma of living with a neurological condition, healing from disordered eating, and how divorce, blended family life, and finding love again gave her the courage to embrace a completely new chapter.Subscribe to SHE MD Podcast for expert tips on PMOS, endometriosis, fertility, hormonal balance, mental health, and more. This week, Ryan Patrick Murphy shares a message from John 15:1-17 titled "Fruit That Will Last," closing out the series "In the Cool of the Garden: Hearing God's Voice in All of Life." The sermon answers the question the whole series has been building toward: what is the goal of hearing God's voice? Rooted in Jesus' final discourse to the disciples before the cross -- delivered not in an upper room but in a garden -- the answer is fruit that lasts into eternity.Ryan walks through five keys to fruitful obedience, moving from the gardening reality of pruning (which God does not to punish us but to prepare us for more fruit) to the rhythm of abiding and working that echoes the original creation pattern in Genesis. From there the message turns to a lifestyle of intimacy and intercession -- where God's words move from something we hear to something that lives inside us -- before landing on lovingly obeying the clear commands of Scripture and, finally, the surprising truth that fruitful obedience looks like joy. Along the way, Ryan names the Fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5 as the primary biblical definition of fruit that lasts, and takes an honest look at how thoroughly our screens are discipling us compared to the presence of God -- calling the community not to guilt but to a renewed vision of what consistent abiding actually produces. The theological anchor of the message is that fruitful obedience is not performance -- it is the natural outgrowth of remaining in Jesus. Hearing God's voice is never the end in itself; it is always in service of a deeper union with him that transforms character, aligns desire, and makes our prayers more effective because our hearts are being shaped by his. Obedience and joy, Ryan argues, are not opposites. God's commandments are not the rules of a cosmic killjoy -- they are the design of a father who knows the pathway to life and wants to set us on it.Ultimately, this message is an invitation to give God a simple yes. Whether you are in a season of pruning, confusion, suffering, or just the ordinary grind, Jesus is calling you to remain in him, let his words get on the inside of you, and trust that the fruit is coming -- fruit that will outlast every external marker of success and last well into eternity.

This week, Ryan Patrick Murphy shares a message from Luke 24:13–35. Anchored in the story of two disciples walking the road to Emmaus, Ryan invites the Table Boston community into a deeper, more daily encounter with God through Scripture — making the case that the Bible is not a supplement to the Christian life but the very soil it grows in.Ryan walks through five practical keys to hearing God's voice in Scripture, drawn straight from the disciples' experience with the risen Jesus. The first is simply to read the Bible every day — not as a medicine we reach for in crisis, but as a vitamin for daily nourishment. The second is to read widely across the whole Bible, invoking A.W. Tozer's conviction that "nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian" and framing Scripture as a five-act redemptive story that we cannot faithfully live in unless we know all four acts that came before us. Ryan then calls the community to read not for information but for transformation — to slow down and sit with whatever phrase or passage stirs the heart, pray it, memorize it, carry it through the day. Fourth, Ryan draws from the Emmaus meal itself to show that Scripture is meant to be lived and discussed in community, not consumed in isolation. Finally, he challenges listeners to obey what they already know — that no prophetic word is needed to love the neighbor, forgive the enemy, or trust God with what we have.Ryan anchors the whole message in Karl Barth's concept of the "threefold Word of God" — the living Word (Jesus himself), the written Word (Scripture), and the preached Word (the teaching of the local church) — showing how all three are meant to work together. The written word, he argues, is not a secondary spiritual tool; it is a doorway into encounter with the living Word. Just as the disciples' hearts burned while Jesus opened the Scriptures to them — even before they recognized him — so the Bible remains the primary and irreplaceable way God speaks today.Ultimately, this sermon is an invitation to fall back in love with the Bible — not out of duty, but because we love the One who wrote it. Ryan closes by praying for renewed hunger, especially for those who have grown cynical or have been wounded by ways Scripture has been misused, asking God to tenderize hearts and release grace for people to open the Word again — in the mornings, on commutes, in community, and at the dinner table.

Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Preventable Crime Deaths Trump pauses the cabinet meeting to reference the killing of Sheridan Gorman, the 18‑year‑old college student murdered in Chicago by an illegal immigrant. Clay and Buck then detail another shocking case out of New York City involving 83‑year‑old Air Force veteran Richard Williams, who was shoved to his death on subway tracks by an illegal immigrant who had been deported multiple times and had an extensive criminal record. The hosts stress that both crimes were entirely preventable and argue that sanctuary policies are directly responsible. Buck explains that these incidents are not happening in high‑crime zones but in places traditionally considered safe—such as the Upper East Side of Manhattan—demonstrating how far the problem has spread. Clay and Buck argue Democrats refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities even when dealing with violent repeat offenders, choosing ideology over public safety. They stress that illegal immigrants who commit crimes should never be shielded from deportation and that the murder rate of Americans by illegal immigrants should be zero. Manipulating the System Investigative journalist Alex Berenson, who joins the program to discuss what Clay calls one of the most enraging crime stories of the year: a horrific Seattle case involving a repeat violent offender who allegedly murdered an elderly woman during a carjacking and then stabbed her dog to death, only to have his prosecution delayed indefinitely due to claims of mental incompetence. Berenson explains how the suspect, an eight‑time convicted felon with a long criminal record, is now repeatedly cycling between jail and a forensic psychiatric hospital, allegedly stopping his medication to claim incompetency and avoid trial. Berenson contrasts this with another highly publicized Seattle murder in which a man allegedly executed a pregnant woman in her car and was later allowed to plead not guilty by reason of insanity—potentially avoiding permanent incarceration altogether. The discussion highlights what Berenson and the hosts see as a broken system that fails to permanently remove clearly dangerous individuals from society, even when guilt is not meaningfully disputed. The Only Sane Democrat Clay and Buck play audio from a pro‑Iran and pro‑Hamas rally in Philadelphia, where speakers openly cheered the deaths of U.S. soldiers. They contrast that rhetoric with comments from Senator John Fetterman, who sharply criticizes his own party for being “held hostage by the far left,” condemns the DHS shutdown, and highlights the real‑world suffering of TSA agents who have gone six weeks without paychecks. The hosts discuss how devastating such a pay gap would be for most American families and argue that Democrats are deliberately inflicting airport chaos and financial pain on federal workers as leverage to block immigration enforcement. The conversation grows more urgent with breaking news that an improvised explosive device was discovered at MacDill Air Force Base, home to U.S. Central Command and Special Operations Command. Authorities link the incident to Iran‑inspired extremism, adding to a string of recent attempted terror attacks across the country. Clay and Buck argue that this makes the DHS shutdown—and weakened airport security—especially indefensible at a moment of elevated threat. Kennedy Murder/Suicide? Journalist and New York Times bestselling author Maureen Callahan dishes on the explosive popularity of the Ryan Murphy‑produced JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Hulu series, questioning why the show has captured such a large audience—particularly women—and whether its depiction of the Kennedy legacy is fundamentally dishonest. Maureen Callahan, author of Ask Not and host of The Nerve, offers a blistering critique of the Kennedy mythology, arguing that the series whitewashes a deeply dysfunctional family history and obscures decades of documented abuses, narcissism, and media manipulation. She traces how the “Camelot” myth persists despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary and explains why Hollywood continues to rehabilitate the Kennedy brand. The conversation intensifies when Callahan lays out her controversial theory regarding the death of John F. Kennedy Jr., asserting—based on official investigation records and well‑documented circumstances—that the fatal plane crash may have been a murder‑suicide driven by personal collapse, recklessness, substance use, and untreated psychological distress. She details Kennedy’s lack of qualification for the flight, warnings from other pilots, his failure to follow aviation protocol, near‑collision with a commercial jet, and the broader context of his unraveling marriage, failing business, and collapsing relationships. Clay and Buck emphasize that, provocative as the theory may sound, Callahan’s claims rely on facts contained in official reports rather than speculation. From there, the hosts and Callahan explore why the show resonates so powerfully, pointing to ’90s nostalgia, pre‑internet media culture, and the enduring Cinderella fantasy. They argue that audiences are drawn to a mythologized version of elite romantic tragedy rather than the far darker and more unsettling reality. The discussion compares the Kennedy myth machine to the fascination Americans have with the British royal family, arguing that modern audiences crave comforting narratives even when they are demonstrably false.
