DANK & Teedski, always seem to be sitting down when they discuss life's grandest debates. Well, today is no different as the two straight white males share their expert ideas about the LGBTQ community and PRIDE MONTH! This is not for those whom lack a sense of humour, as political correctness is completely absent from such dialogue. Nonetheless, the two trade punches back and forth, expressing their love and admiration for the gays, while offering their own personal insights into why the LGBTQWRXPE debate is one of the most important movements of our lifetime! -- Want to become an official sponsor of the podcast? DANK & Teed sit down after a busy month and talk about Teed's decision to wean off of SSRI's... or as DANK likes to call them, "happy pills". Together, the two discuss the pros and cons of medication for mental health disorders, and offer 'expert' advice to the medical community at large on how to improve the ways in which "happy pills" are prescribed. Dank & Teed sit down with Tia Erin to talk about the origins of her organization, Mamas4Mamas. The trio dives deep into the underlying theme that has been a part of Erin's life for the past decade... the theme of motherhood, and how it has shaped her life as a young adult. Erin also shares her insight of alternative methods of conception and being a MUM 101. Mamas4Mamas is a small, grassroots organization, who believes in the power of grassroots partnerships to change the world. Mamas 4 Mamas is 100% volunteer driven and receives no funding to support our work. Mamas 4 Mamas focuses on 3 key areas to improve maternal health outcomes: education, medication and volunteering. Shailynn was diagnosed with a "terminal" condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) at 18 months old, thus beginning a long, unpredictable journey for her and her family. It seems normal to assume that such a devastating disability would hinder one's way of living, until you meet Shai. This badass and powerful woman spends most of her time advocating for the needs of people with SMA, hanging out with friends, rippin' bongs, and living selflessly, all while studying at Mount Royal University in Calgary. She does more shit in one hour than Teed does in an entire Sunday. Shai has managed to find her voice in a medical world which seems determined to silence her, and although she may not LOVE the title, she is truly an inspiration. -- For more more information on SMA, be sure to follow Shailynn on instagram at @shaibrooketayy. Paige shares her incredibly story of her lifelong battle with mental health, as well as the RAW stories that come along with it; stories of attempted suicide, self harm and more. In one of the most honest and vulnerable episodes to date, the trio swap opinions on the current state of the stigma surrounding mental health affairs, and offer insightful ideas into its future. -- Want to become an official sponsor of the podcast? Death. We have all thought about it. It's perhaps the single most significant part of life. It forces you to confront the tough questions such as, "did I do everything I wanted to do?", and "did I live a meaningful life?" While we may all think about death, very few of us have actually been confronted the reality of it. Our guest Dane Roy talks about the day Death came knocking at his door, and how his life would never be the same after he answered. -- Want to become an official sponsor of the podcast? A continuation from Episode 6, we hopped in the El3vat0r to chop it up with the 2017 Saskatchewanderer, Andrew Hiltz. We sat down just the two of us to reminisce a little bit about "home". We discuss our experience with living in the "boring" prairie province of Saskatchewan, and what it means to us to come from such a diverse & misunderstood place. Family can be wonderful and frustrating all at once, but it's one of the most important things in life. In this episode Dank and Teed bring on their charmingly quirky Aunt to reminisce, debate, call each other out, and ultimately laugh hysterically. If there's one thing the guys understand about family, it's the dysfunction of unapologetic opinions and personalities. However, despite these annoyances, if you really pay attention, these little differences are the driving forces of the love you share for one another. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theelevatorspodcast/message
Marijuana is now legal in Canada! Dank and Teed weigh-in on the myths of cannabis and tackle topics like prohibition, stoner lifestyles, the potential dangers of legalization, and pot's proven health benefits. Oh, and... well... they get higher than a hippy in a hot air balloon. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theelevatorspodcast/message
Dank and Teed sit down with the founder of UnderstandUs, Jim Demeray, to discuss the recent emergence of mental health awareness among millennials. Jim and Teed openly discuss their personal struggles with mental health, while Dank asks the deeper and increasingly relevant question of, “how does one really know when they're struggling?” --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theelevatorspodcast/message
On the very first episode of the El3vat0rs podcast, we ask all of the burning questions we've always wanted to ask a ridiculously religious person. Shoutout to our good friend Rom for being that person. Can he convince us that there is a God, or a talking snake, or that Moses parted the seas or whatever? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theelevatorspodcast/message
