Underwhelmed and annoyed, the hosts Matthew Coleman and Matthew Gomez are joined once again by former host Naoki Gima and Long Beach Current sports editor Davis Ramage, to talk about this year's disappointing Super Bowl matchup. Before getting to the big game, the group breaks down Championship weekend, starting with the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders game in the morning before transitioning to the nightcap between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. With Gima being an Eagles fan, he's left being the only member of the group with a team to root for. He goes on to lay out the reasons why the game could propel Saquon Barkley into the best running back of all-time conversation. Keeping it light-hearted, the episode wraps up with a Fish Break led by Gomez and concludes with a blind ranking of past Super Bowls put together by Coleman. The Koreshan State Historic Site in Estero, Florida is one of the most peculiar historic sites in the American South. This state park showcases the life of Dr. Cyrus Teed, the founder of Koreshanity. Those who joined this religious and scientific movement sought immortality through celibacy and believed the entire universe existed within a giant, hollow sphere. The Koreshan Unity has been dubbed “one of the most bizarre” communal utopian societies organized in the 19th century. They were forced to relocate several times until they found a permanent home in the swamplands of southwest Florida. Want more Southern Mysteries? The hosts Matthew Gomez and Matthew Coleman are joined by Long Beach State's Associate Athletic Director for Communications and Broadcast Roger Kirk who is a long-time fan of the show. Starting his journey out of college, Kirk highlights his time covering Minor League Baseball, making it to the Majors and working for the Minnesota Twins. He also discusses why he left the professional baseball scene and made the switch to collegiate sports. Despite this being his first appearance, Kirk answers a long-standing question from season two guest, Ivan Abril, about what video game he was playing during an athletics road trip. After a brief hiatus at the beginning of the season, Corn Break is back. This time, it's themed around Kirk's time in the Twins organization, as their High-A affiliate, the Cedar Rapids Kernels, are involved in a seriously corny question. Wrapping up, the hosts use Kirk's tweets to break down his professional fandoms and learn some of his favorite moments and stops along his career. If we're going to buy something, we need to know how much it will cost. D'uh, right? The contract defines the terms and conditions of the purchase, while the price determines the value and/or cost of the goods or services being bought. Easy. This is true in GovCon as much as it is in our personal lives. In GovCon however, the pricing process is sometimes seen as a separate and often detached element of a proposal, and even of the contract. One reason for this potentially wide separation between the pricing process and the rest of contract is due to a lack of context on how these elements interact. It's critical to understand how the pricing elements align with, and have an impact on, not just the delivering the requirement under Section C, but how the pricing impacts the entire contract. In this episode, Kevin invited Heather Teed (a proposal pricing strategist who knows this area well) to help him explain how the pricing elements inter-relate with all the sections of a contract – not just sections B, C and L.Side note: If you're not familiar with the contract sections, check out the episode we did on the Uniform Contract Format (episode 041).
