On this episode of The Introverted Iconoclast, I sat down with Roman Prokopchuk. Roman is a first generation Ukrainian immigrant, foster parent, fellow podcaster, and a digital marketing expert. We had an eye-opening discussion about the foster care system and the angelic work that he and his wife have chosen to purse - giving children hope. On this episode of The Introverted Iconoclast, I sat down with my great friend Rob Lee.  Rob is the co-founder and CEO of the cybersecurity firm Dragos, which among a variety of things, has the most impactful slogan I have ever seen: “Safeguarding Civilization”.  Furthermore, it couldn't me more accurate.  Rob and his team, simply put, protect our way of life.  From the water we drink, to the food we eat, computerized control systems are in charge of it all which in turn make those systems ideal targets for adversaries (nation-state or terroristic).  Rob is truly one of the good guys and I couldn't be more grateful for him to be doing what he does.  Enjoy!

On this episode of The Introverted Iconoclast, I sat down with Steve Sims.  Steve looks like the perfect hybrid of a character straight out of a Guy Richie movie and a Harley Davidson TV commercial.  But underneath that surly facade, Steve harbors some deep wisdom and an unapologetic resolve that is, quite frankly, very refreshing.  I can see why people are drawn to Steve and how he has brute forced himself into the position he is in now.  It is truly impressive.  Enjoy!

This "centralized" digital monetary system, that promises to be an efficient and accurate replacement for fiat currencies, also introduces a slew of more insidious implications. Everything from granular tracking to programmable expiration, this fundamental shift could be a catalyst for a universal basic income (UBI) introduction and perhaps even the baseline for a social credit system akin to what we see in play in China today. And don't get me started on the cybersecurity risks – they've taken “decentralized” out of the recipe potentially rendering it even more susceptible to hackers than even our current system.

Nothing is more sobering for an intelligence and cybersecurity professional than receiving an ominous email with one of your passwords in the subject line and the body of the email with nothing more than the words: “Let's talk…” This is the story of how I got into a cyber dogfight with one of the world's most notorious hacker groups and leveraged the outcome to my advantage.
