This Sunday's Inspirational Message is: I'm Still A Little Bit Curious When I was a boy, I used to love looking at maps. Big paper maps. I would trace the highways with my finger and imagine traveling to places I had never been. I had never seen the Rocky Mountains, but I knew they were there. I had never stood on the ocean shore, but I believed it existed because the map showed it clearly. Now here's the thing. The map didn't show every detail. It didn't tell me what the air smelled like or how cold the water would feel. But it showed enough to assure me that the destination was real. The Bible is like that when it comes to heaven. It does not give us every detail. It does not satisfy every curiosity. But it gives us enough-enough to assure us that heaven is real, enough to tell us how to get there, and enough to give us hope when the road gets hard. And honestly, when you're walking through something like cancer, you study the map more closely. You don't just glance at it. You lean into it. Today, we open the map. * * * * * Once again, thanks for joining us in our time of worshiping the Lord through His Word! Brian Hyland is known as the voice of Summer Love, & is a pioneer of Rock N Roll. He sang one of my favorite songs, in fact it's probably one of almost everyone's favorite songs & one of the great classics of all time as it is on every karaoke song sheet…Sealed With a Kiss, which has probably been sung billions of times in karaoke. His journey through music is nothing short of legendary. At the ripe young age of just 16, he skyrocketed to stardom with his infectious hit, “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini,” claiming the coveted #1 spot across the nation & earning him a prestigious Gold Record. But..this was just the beginning of a remarkable musical odyssey. Alongside the dynamic duo of Gary Geld & Peter Udell, he had hits like “Let Me Belong to You,” “Ginny Come Lately,” the world wide phenom “Sealed with a Kiss,” & “Warmed-over Kisses” solidifying his status as a household name. He collaborated with luminaries such as Snuff Garrett, Leon Russell, & JJ Cale, delivering hits like “The Joker Went Wild” & “Run, Run, Look and See,” which soared into the top 20 on the charts. We discuss: -Where Brian grew up (right near me!) -How & when did this music bug germinate in you. -His meteoric rise which continued with the monumental success of Curtis Mayfield's “Gypsy Woman,” a timeless anthem that resonated globally, selling over 3 million copies & produced by the legendary Del Shannon who was known for his megahit Runaway. -How his penchant for reinvention shone brightly with his rendition of Jackie Wilson's “Lonely Teardrops,” capturing the essence of soulful melodies with unmatched finesse. -How In 1977 he moved to New Orleans to work with Allen Toussaint. Allen produced an album with Brian called “In a State of Bayou.” The album was loved by the critics and was one of the best pieces music he ever did. -After 60 years since the release of ‘Sealed with a Kiss', Brian reunited with Peter Udell. Peter penned a Christmas song & invited Brian to record it. The song, titled ‘A Little Bit of Christmas Time', was released at the end of Nov. 2023. -How Brian continues to grace stages & studios with his timeless melodies, with a legacy as a true icon of the music industry which seems to only grow stronger with each passing beat. -“Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini…now those are some memorable lyrics. What year was that recorded & how did that song & those iconic lyrics come about. -How long did it take for your next hit song and what song was that? -Sealed With a Kiss. How did that song come about and was it about someone specific? -What keeps Brian still performing 65 years after his first big hit? See www.BrianHyland.com for upcoming performance and to listen to some of his classics

Even for seasoned Crypto investors who are used to the rollercoaster, the last six months of Bitcoin has been like Kings Dominion on steroids! We speak with Ron Brill, chair of the ITAM Standards Committee, to learn more about ISO and the ISO ITAM family of standards (19770) and what's coming down the pipeline. We also touch on FinOps and Sustainability and how ITAM can contribute. Our favourite quote from this episode: "It's my guess that it will be ITAM that will have to adapt to be more like FinOps than the other way around." Besides his role with the ITAM Standards Committee, Ron is also Vice Chair of the ITAM Forum's Trustee Board and the Chairman at Anglepoint. He's also a FinOps Certified Practitioner (and holds many other certifications).

More than 25 years since TWIN PEAKS was unceremoniously taken off the air by ABC, the series was resurrected for a third season by creators David Lynch and Mark Frost. The result is TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN, an 18-hour cinematic event that many consider to be Lynch's magnum opus. Fire Shock With Me is back to guide you through every surreal moment of this landmark television achievement. Before we dive into the premiere, this introductory episode explores the long, winding road to the 2017 revival. We take a deep dive into how TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN actually came to be, analyzing the decades of rumors, the false starts, and the intense negotiations that nearly saw David Lynch walk away from the project. From the "I'll see you in 25 years" prophecy to the final green light at Showtime, we're breaking down the history of the show's resurrection. TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN is finally here, and this is just the beginning. While this introductory deep dive is available to everyone, the rest of the season — featuring our episode-by-episode recap and analysis — is exclusive to members of CinemaShock+.
