The Money Story

Do we believe that God will provide, until our last breath on earth?  What we really think about who God is and His ability to provide dictates our financial actions and the decisions we make of whether to save or not save, give or not give, debt, spending, and even vacations.  When we have the right view of God then that should change the way we are handling money and enable us to step out in faith with the finances He has entrusted to us.  

We're back!  After an almost 6 month hiatus, we are back with a new episode of The Money Story Podcast.  We have a big life change update in Episode 13 and we delve into what abiding in Christ looks like.  We also talk about why it is important that we are filliping the script on what we have all been taught about money and possessions.  

What does it mean to be a part of and unleash the Kingdom of Heaven on earth?  

According to Ephesians 4:24, those of us who are in Christ are a wholly new person. Not a better version of our old selves but a whole new person in Christ. Which means that if we are still managing money the way we used to in our old life we haven't fully surrendered that area over to the one who gave everything for us.

The Greek word for gratitude, eucharisteo, is derived from the root word for grace, or charis. What is our response to Jesus' grace? He deserves to be glorified in everything we do including how we handle money and possessions.

We talk more deeply about the Apostle Paul's conversion after his encounter with the living Christ on the road to Damascus and highlight Paul's response to God's grace: gratitude.  

Each one of us has a true identity in Christ.  God sees everything about us, the good and bad, the best and the worst, and loves us anyway because he sees what He will accomplish in our life.  

What our gracious God wants most from us is relationship and through that relationship comes our willingness and desire to surrender.  

This episode is the first of a two-part discussion about the Parable of the Prodigal Son from Luke 15. Our generous and gracious God doesn't expect us to have it all together when we come back to Him.

God cares deeply for us and is gracious towards us. So much so that He sent His only Son.
