Our true identity is not based in who we are, But in who Christ is.

What a tragedy it is when there is a loss of spiritual identity.  I believe you can lose your true identity, give it away, forget it, waste it, or change it for better or worse.  It's also possible that some individuals go through life searching for their true identity and never find it.Main Points:1. If you don't know who you are, then you are vulnerable to other people telling you who you are.  But the concrete, solid, gospel truth is that as a follower of Jesus, you are who God says you are, and no one else has a vote in the matter.2. The phrase “in Christ” is used about 140 times in the Bible.  We are said to be “in Christ.”  It is the most used term to describe a follower of Jesus.  God's Word is saying to us that if you are trusting Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord, “You are in Christ.”  This is your new identity!  This is who God made you to be.  This is the real you!3. Reject any label the world tries to give you. As a believer in Jesus, your Heavenly Father has given you your true identity as a child of God.Today's Scripture Verses:John 1:12 - “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”Galatians 2:20 - “I have been crucified with Christ. In Genesis 1:26-27, God declares, "Let us make mankind in our image, according to our likeness." In part eight of "Your True Identity," Brother Duane explains that humanity's creation in God's image and likeness defines our true identity. This divine distinction separates humans from angels, animals, and all other forms of creation. Key features of God's image include dominion and authority, the distinction between male and female, sovereignty, creativity, and the concept of work. Two aspects that spark debate are judgment and justice. The ability to judge is a fundamental aspect of God's image in humanity. Jesus instructed in John 7:24 to "judge with righteous judgment" instead of judging based on outward appearance.Sin can damage and distort God's image in humans but it cannot eliminate it. We can either celebrate this image through righteousness in Christ or pervert it through sin. Today, many social movements that seek justice often commit injustices themselves, which distorts the image of God. Embrace "Your True Identity" and reflect God's restored image through Christ's righteousness.

Is the Holy Spirit just a mysterious force, or is there more to His identity than you've been taught?

In part seven of "Your True Identity," Brother Duane teaches that we were created in God's image and likeness and that this image is our true identity. Our real identity doesn't come from our feelings or personal views, but from our Creator God. Being made in God's image is what makes us human and gives us our true worth.The attributes of God's image in people encompass several key traits: the ability to rule and have dominion, being created as male and female, having sovereignty and free will, creativity, the power of words, and the capacity to judge. He stresses that while sin can distort and damage God's image in us, it cannot change or eradicate it. The image of Jesus is a perfect example of God manifesting His image in us.

Do you feel like you are crawling through life like a worm when God has created you to soar like a butterfly? Brother Duane teaches the importance of renewing our minds as Christians. The "Spirit of Our Mind" refers to our attitude or mindset, which influences not only what we think but also how we think. This message emphasizes the need to adopt a biblical worldview rather than a secular perspective. Exploring the metaphor of metamorphosis, we discover that transformation works from the inside out, like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly or a tadpole becoming a bullfrog. By aligning our thoughts with God's truth, a metamorphosis occurs within us. This change is not the result of an external effort, but rather through God's Spirit working within us. This inner transformation renews our minds through His Word, leading to true freedom and spiritual growth.
