Feliz Cinco de Mayo Vatos... Fellas dive into the "American Holiday" lol with discussions behind the history and how it is celebrated here in the United States. Remember Cinco de Mayo isn't a celebration of our independence but more of a victory battle between an outnumbered Mexican army agains the French in 1862. The actual independence day for Mexico, is on September 16th which celebrates the cry of independence against the Spaniards. Enjoy...
We decided to throw caution to the wind and hit the record button on this one. Let see what these vatos come up with.
This week we dive into what is these vatos definition of 'Character'... is it based on a person? A feeling? Part of the DNA? Lets tune in on what Jorge and Angel has to say about it.
These Vatos episode comes to us on behalf of Angels latest and greatest hiking video over the weekend. Check out his footage here: Beacon Rock State Park-Hamilton Mt. Trail. Our Vatos were discussing some of their best activities (and fears) when it comes to the outdoors. Lets chime in...
Tiss the season... Spring Break is upon us. These vatos discuss how we celebrate the break and the benefits about it. Do we get overwhelmed by the crazy busyness that everyone is planing the perfect trip? Or do we just assess and play it by what is available (weather permitting or not)? Angel taps into the differences how Spring Break is celebrated between CA and OR.
Jorge decides to tackle the topic of relationships on this episode. Because Angel is a married man (sorry ladies
Today is going to be our first time recording video (for later Youtube video) which we end up talking about how we both got into photography. In my case I got into photography/filmography because I wanted to save/record memories along the way, unlike Jorge, he got into this because he wanted to be in the movie industry. So... How did you guys got into photography/filmography and why? Enjoy!
Todays agenda.... there is none lol. Nope Angel and Jorge decided to wing it and chat about how the day went today... well more for Jorgito since he had a Cray Cray day at work
2021 is going fast and we are almost 3/4 of the way through. With that said Angel and Jorge discuss some of their visions towards the future as we near Spring at the end of March. Jorge's is looking forward to hitting Mt Hood whilst Angel getting back in shape (possible soccer league startup). It will be interesting how sports organization address social distancing that involved close contact
Angel and Jorge dig into the topic of religion this week. What does religion mean to us? Is it set by a standard of rules (or commandments in this case) that we must abide? What makes a person religious? How does sin affects us? Growing up Jorge followed his father's footsteps by attending the Catholic Church. To much of his attendance at service, he found it challenging to understand the meaning behind who God really was. When Jorge participated at his first Christian service, it made sense-epiphany. Angel walks us through his version by stating that people worship more than one God when it comes to Catholicism. Whether it be a cross on the wall, lit candles or a virgin Mary stone, Angel believes people worships these entities which contradict the Bible. Jorge shares one of his favorite versus of all time and gives insight behind this. Why do some religious people have a difficult time accepting homosexuality or are they more conservative than religious? These two Vatos dig into these questions and pick each others brain... Let's tune in.
Angel and Jorge discuss the entertainment realm of cinema/movies in this round. Movies play a huge role in our society which dates back from 1895; however throughout time it has evolved immensely. We take a look at their on screen favs and why... Does it motivate us to make lifestyle changes for the better? Or enjoy the cinematography features that paints an amazing picture thus present a beautiful storyline?
This weeks episode is on the topic of fear... Angel had discussed this with his sister and wanted to dissect this a bit more as to why we do what we do... Or rather the actions we take (good or bad) based on the level of fear one goes through. Being a captain for his team in his younger years, Angel unfolds some of his reactions due the fear of loosing the match. This also applies towards taking an uncomfortable assignment at work that one finds excuses in order to avoid in the project. Jorge feels that unfortunate experiences from the past can impede the way you think about things for the future and the type of fear it imprints on the mind. Should you have to take drastic measures and physically defend yourself against others, does that make you look stronger or weaker regardless of the outcome? What about the fear when it comes to close friends or family? Perhaps all we need is to take that step forward and all fear goes away.
What is our expectations for 2021? It’s challenging to say as we continue the recovering process from the Pandemic; however this doesn’t stop us from being optimistic about the future. Lots of things went down 2020 that will be engrained in our memories for sure. Da fellas discuss some of their outlooks towards the new year. Angel hopes the government eases off the mandate situation to breathe a little easier and his Rosca (The Kings Bread). Angel will also turn 34
With Christmas around the corner, Angel y Jorge discuss how the holiday is celebrated here in the U.S. versus Mexico. When it comes to the U.S., Angel believes that Thanksgiving is more essential in comparison to Christmas. And vice versa when it comes to Mexican culture, los latinos cater towards the Navidad holiday to be central. Does Thanksgiving or Christmas bring more stress to the table with family/friends? Jorge brings this question to the table to further assess. Are there any traditions that we hold dear to us around Christmas time? Do celebrations have to include games and other incentives to be able to drink leisurely across family/friends? Although many of us have our friends and family to be united with during the holidays, there's many folks who do not share the same experiences and would like to recognize them
As we near Christmas, we decided to take a fun turn on this episode and discuss some of our preferred spirits/alcohol drinks. Jorge invites Angel to taste an array of awesome beverages-from a nice elegant wine
On the world of Tattoos... Our boys come this week to talk about an interesting topic and quite a fan from what we hear. Although there's unique angles we can come into this discussion, Angel and Jorge share their interest and why its appealing to one another. Angel leads the race here already having a few inked designs himself, yet Jorge remains on the fence where to start
iOS? or Android? We thought this would be a fun episode since we're die hard fans of each OS. The podcast doesn't stem from a political debate angle, but more on the end-user experience and what we gain from it. Whether accessibility to different programs or seamless file sharing, we unpack our views that can be contradictory yet insightful. Either way you look at it, the goal isn't to persuade the audience on one side of the fence, but simply share our dorkiness
What do we think about role models... how do they impact our lives? Growing up who were the heroes we looked up to? Or do we embrace those that cross our paths to shape us into the person we are? Do we pursue attributes from different people and hold that as a navigating compass for the our journey??? Either way we look at it, we unpack Angel and Jorge's past a bit that sheds light into the amigos we are today.
What do we consider a Holiday? Or how does one define a Holiday? Do we revert it solely to days off from your company/business? Or is it more on the basis of culture? In this episode we tackle a bit behind several celebrated (pachanga) days of the year... from Los Dia De Los Muertos
This week we focused on a topic that brings unity, culture and much alegria to the table... Food For Foodies
