Have you ever wondered why you stopped bearing Godly fruits, you used to be so loving, patient and kind or so you thought, but now you find yourself acting out of order. Join me on this mini devotion series as we look into the dangers of being disconnected from God or distracted by our busy schedules.
Many times I found myself tweaking the truth, loosing my temper, complaining about someone that has offended me to someone else instead of approaching them or taking them to God, misusing my time at work, looking for approval of others, etc, one or more of these we all do but may fail to admit, you are just deceiving yourself… Here is a reminder for you and I… God is watching… “For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.” When all is said and done our works will be tried by fire what will be your fate? “But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person's work has any value.” 1 Corinthians 3:13 NLT
Romans 12:2 says "Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then You will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will". Conformity is defined as behaviour in accordance to socially accepted coventions and standards. Conforming is basically a road block to transformation. Verse 1 of Romans 12 starts by telling us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, because that's the only way we can be transformed. Transformation certainly does not occur after trying to be like others, you only end up loosing your identity and taking on other people's. Now for you to be transformed the bible says that your mind needs to be renewed. The problem with that is most people think that for their mind to be renewed they need to feed on people's opinions and philosophies. While others try to 'transform' people, mostly loved ones, by feeding them with our opinions, hoping that they will change. Although some are receptive, the truth is that the only one who can change the heart of man is God. Paul in Galatians 1 speaking about his transformation mentions in verse 12 says "for I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ". Now, when the heart of a man has been transformed by Jesus Christ, it says at the end of Romans 12:2 that you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will. Again in Galatians 1:22-24, Paul having been transformed by Christ and now walking with Christ for Christ was able to impact the lives of people without them even knowing who he was. They only saw and heard the good works and glorified the God in him. Of a truth, that gave Paul the opportunity to prove that God's will concerning his life was a good and perfect one. However, note that Paul in verse 16 through 17 did not "confer with flesh and blood" or follow the precepts of the apostles who had been called before him. Hence, he did not conform, but chose that the one who separated him from his mother's womb and called him through grace (Jesus Christ), reveal himself in him (Galatians 1:15). It will be only profitable if we can truly stop trying to belong, and fully surrender, ask God to breathe upon our lives, melt our hearts of stone and use us for his glory.
“I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.” Psalms 34:1-3 NLT
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24 KJV
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8 NLT
People often see those that are meek as easily people that can be easily short-changed but Mattew 5:5 tell us that the meek are blessed and they shall inherit the earth... listen in to today’s episode as I talk about this great attribute

A patient said something to me this morning while I went to do my regular check-in on how she’s doing and how her day is going. As I wrote the date and my name in her white board she said, “I’m starting to like myself again” I can’t explain to you how much my heart lit up hearing that. I told her she’s beautiful and I’m glad she’s finally feeling as beautiful as she is. I wish I were able to say that about myself. I wish I could say to you now that I’m starting to like myself again. I pray that at the end of this come-what-may I am able to genuinely say those same words and feel it. Loving yourself I have learned today includes accepting both the pleasant and unpleasant truths of your existence. Make a list of those things you don’t like about yourself, and say to yourself for example i dislike the fact that I am often late to places, but you know what that’s who I am right now, I admit it and I accept that it is a bad habit of mine but you know what everyone has a bad habit.
We have our first guest on VOUC on tomorrow’s episode! Tune in to listen to us speak on Sleep vs Rest!
