The boys talk about our Democrats and how they keep falling below our already-low expectations. These Democrats are still lost on the DHS and ICE issue, but who knows what concessions they will extract, if any, during this shutdown. CNN also released new polling that says the Democratic base is becoming more “far left” while Americans' perception of the party is that they are “too liberal”. The boys break it down and discuss why it doesn't carry the electability concerns that people want you to think. What happens when your partner's behavior doesn't just impact you, but someone you deeply care about too?In this Part One conversation, Lauren and Trey unpack a real-life moment that sparked tension around time, respect, and loyalty. When Lauren runs late, Trey finds himself worried about how it will land with his best friend, J, and names his fear that Lauren's ego may be driving the moment rather than care or accountability.Trey shares how his deep sensitivity to lateness is rooted in childhood experiences with his mom, where chronic lateness felt dismissive and disrespectful. Lauren reflects on what it means to stand in your domain, receive feedback from a trusted partner, and resist her long-standing pattern of collapsing into shame or the story of “I am a failure.”For perhaps the first time, Lauren explores what it looks like to remain anchored in her sense of self, even when others may feel disappointed, and to allow the natural consequences of that choice without self-abandonment. Together, they explore boundaries, projection, relational triggers, and the vulnerable work of deciding when to adjust and when to stand firm. This is Part One of a two-part series. “I'm going to be the best basketball player I can ever be and I'm also going to be the best father that I can ever be.” Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum sits down with Ryan, Channing and Fred for a raw, wide-ranging conversation that goes far beyond the headlines and boxscore. Tatum opens up about battling through injury, the moment he nearly walked away from the game, and the mental toll that comes with carrying expectations at the highest level. Recently returning to the court for rehab and light work, the 6x time NBA All Star and World Champion opens up on how the last year has been the toughest in his life, admitting self-doubt, questioning his will to heal and contemplating his return this season. Winning a title with Celtics etched his name in Boston royalty, although the high expectations still move him to chase the legends who've come before him while his focus remains on getting back to a championship. Jayson was upfront about working through past growing pains with Jaylen Brown, the pressures of being a face of the NBA and the three words Joe Mazzulla whispered to him during the biggest moments of their Championship run. A self-proclaimed mama's boy, he shares a deep understanding of sacrifice, hard work and how growing up with little motivated him being raised by a single mom but candidly he opens up on why he values the relationship with his father differently but still a bond he appreciates. With the anniversary of Kobe Bryant's passing, Jayson Tatum reveals how he was inspired by the icon and modeled his life based on certain experiences and explains why he is completely appalled with anyone questioning Kobe's contributions to the game. He reflects on representing Team USA in 2024 on the Olympic stage, what that experience taught him, his true in-the-moment feelings with Steve Kerr and how it reshaped his perspective as a leader but also as a man. From embracing the weight of Boston's historic legacy to navigating fatherhood while still chasing greatness, Tatum shares how his humble beginnings continue to ground him. Honest, reflective, and powerful—this is Jayson Tatum like you've never heard him before. Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1470Mikaela Shiffrin won almost every race by over two seconds in her breakthrough season. The next year, when she won by six tenths of a second, people said she was getting slow. The victory itself wasn't questioned, but suddenly winning alone wasn't good enough. She had to win by more. This shift created something she'd never experienced before: performance anxiety so severe she was vomiting at the start of almost every race. Not from fear of losing, but from fear of the disappointment that came with not exceeding expectations that had become completely unrealistic. Even people closest to her would say things like "it'd be so great if you could just stomp on this race." She knew the expectations weren't realistic, but she didn't know how to explain that. So she raced anyway, and people took four to five years to catch up to the fact that her early dominance was a moment in time, not a permanent standard. The breakthrough came from recognizing that exhaustion isn't weakness. After winning her 85th World Cup victory, everyone assumed number 86 the next day was a done deal. But she'd raced seven times in ten days across Europe. She was mentally and emotionally disconnected, not because she lacked skill or drive, but because she was human and tired. Sometimes you just need one recovery day. She's learned to recognize when expectations are unrealistic, when media questions are trying to insinuate feelings rather than ask honestly, and most importantly, that people will eventually catch up. Excellence doesn't mean you have to exceed impossible standards every single time. Sometimes winning by six tenths is still extraordinary, even if two seconds was once possible.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
