She was bubbly and confident in elementary school—always quick to smile, dance in the kitchen, and ask you to tuck her in. But lately… you've noticed a shift. She's quieter. Withdrawn. Glued to her phone. The sparkle in her eyes seems dimmer. And the conversations? They've turned into one-word answers and long silences. You wonder: Is she okay? Am I losing her? In this deeply relatable episode of Unlock U with Dr. Shannan Crawford, meet Gracie Showers, one of Crawford Clinics' gifted mental health providers who specializes in walking with 12–16-year-old girls as they navigate the pressures of middle and high school. With compassion, clinical skill, and a Christ-centered perspective, Gracie partners with families to raise emotionally resilient, relationally wise, and spiritually anchored daughters—girls who know their worth, set healthy boundaries, and live with intention in a culture pulling them in all the wrong directions. If you've ever worried your daughter is losing her way—or that the world might get to shape her more than God's design—this episode is your invitation to hope, help, and healing.
Discussion on Discourse 01 (May 22, 1973) - Part 2Among the thousands of discourses delivered by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, those that He gave as part of the Summer Course series are remarkably special. They are focused on specific spiritual themes, and as they are for youngsters, the elucidation is gradual. In this series, members of SSSMC go through the discourses delivered as part of the 1973 Summer Course Series. These discourses were on Adi Shankara's Bhaja Govindam.'Shravanam Mananam Nidhidhyasanam' which can be translated as 'Listen, Reflect and Assimilate' is a Vedantic edict to the spiritual aspirant on how the Supreme Truths are to be approached and absorbed. In this series, short clips of the discourses are listened to and reflected upon, with the prayer that the assimilation happens.
In this episode, Joe De Sena sits down with Matt Prouty, a police officer showing what real community leadership looks like. When Matt Prouty saw addiction and homelessness destroying his community, he didn't wait for policy—he built a street team, set up shower programs, and met people where they were. No excuses. No red tape. Just real action. This is a raw, inspiring look at what happens when one person steps up and leads from the front. This weekend, I was in San Francisco for the Dead's 60th Anniversary celebration, where I danced with Miles Teller and learned (in real time) at a karaoke bar that "Islands in the Sun" should not be my go-to song. Then, I dealt with some Lucy nursery school drama, saw Kelly & Mark's old studio get torn down (why was I the only one crying?!), and yelled at a gal on the street (more than once) for littering.Plus, John & talk about the murder that happened at my gym, if my outdoor shower partition is TOO low, and opened the Mail Bag.For more interviews and behind-the-scenes tea, tune in to Andy Cohen Live weekdays on Radio Andy by subscribing to SiriusXM. Hello to you listening in Tillamook, Oregon!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. Our Pacific Northwest summers are a generous Mother Nature break from the cold, damp darkness of the November to May Rain Festival here on the island. Don't get me wrong: we know how to keep ourselves warm, dry, comfortable, and engaged in the 6 months of fall and winter; but we appreciate the summer months to the fullest even when rain showers interrupt our plans.Something Miguel de Cervantes wrote about squalls and good weather reminds me that all is impermanent, nothing endures forever and we will see our way clear - in time: “All these squalls to which we have been subjected are signs that the weather will soon improve and things will go well for us, because it is not possible for the bad or the good to endure forever, and from this it follows that since the bad has lasted so long the good is close at hand.” [Miguel de Cervantes - Don Quioxte]Question: How are you inviting the good that is close at hand? When it comes to getting clean, some people prefer chilling in the bath for a good half an hour or more, while others like how quick and practical it is having a shower. Let's consider the two choices from a health perspective. It's pretty common knowledge that taking a bath isn't very eco-friendly, in terms of water consumption. Of course there are variables at play here when comparing the two. When taking a bath, you only really need to fill around a third of the tub up, so your torso is submerged when you lie down. But some people will fill it higher, which obviously uses more water. When taking a shower, it depends how long you keep it running for and how powerful the flow rate is. What does taking a bath do to our bodies? What about its impact on the cardiovascular system? Are there any points of comparison where taking a shower is better? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! To listen to the last episodes, you can click here: How long do I have to wait to swim after eating? What are the world's least safe travel destinations? This was a satisfyingly crunchy Monday crossword; it took both cohosts, laboring independently as usual, a significantly longer time than usual to complete. They blame it on the AQI, which in NE Wisconsin is currently hovering somewhere between "hey, what happened to the houses across the street?" and "if you must go outside, don't forget your respirator!" levels. Fortunately they had today's crossword -- the third NYTimes publication by Patti Varol -- to provide a welcome distraction. This summer has been a hot one. August is usually our warmest month, with temperatures in the 90s nearly every day. We're already seeing that, and it's only mid-July. And what's interesting is that, along with the heat we're experiencing, we're getting pop-up showers almost every day. They're like the heat showers that my parents get down on the Gulf Coast of Florida on summer afternoons. It doesn't rain very long, and it also comes with thunder and a few bursts of lightning. That's followed by a 4 to 5-minute downpour, and then it's over. The rain makes things even steamier, and that makes late afternoons no fun... Discussion on Discourse 01 (May 21, 1973)Among the thousands of discourses delivered by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, those that He gave as part of the Summer Course series are remarkably special.

It's Ticked Off Tuesday on and Jared is broadcasting from the “presidential suite” of a Pittsburgh boutique hotel, complete with two shower heads that can't even hit him at the same time. He kicks off the episode with his complaint, then dives into listener gripes: from the Delta One Lounge failing to serve almond milk (the Beyoncé of alt-milks), to flavorless adult medicine that feels like swishing around “diarrhea water.” There's also a burrito shrinking crisis sweeping the nation and a business trip horror story featuring a co-worker's husband who keeps picking up tabs, then demanding repayment like it's a debt. Jared validates, escalates, and hilariously unpacks every minor injustice. If you've ever felt personally offended by a small portion size or a passive-aggressive Venmo request, this one's for you. Tune in! Also, Jared is on the road

As the old saying goes... April showers bring May showers...? Or at least that is what we have been experiencing! I think it is safe to say that golf in the northeast has been a bit too.. Moist? Can we say that on here? I'm not sure, but Jarrid picked up a "cloudy" beer for us to rate, so crack a beer and join in on the gloomy fun!
