Steve Gruber discusses news and headlines
The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 2: 4:05pm- On Wednesday, from the Oval Office, President Donald Trump signed a series of executive orders aimed at reviving domestic shipbuilding and reversing onerous regulations adopted during the Biden Administration—explicitly mentioning burdensome regulations that limit water pressure. Trump joked that he needs adequate water pressure to properly maintain his “beautiful hair.” While speaking with the press, Trump also called out Harvard University for admitting students who aren't competent in mathematics. According to reports, Harvard is now offering freshmen the opportunity to enroll in a remedial math course—as many incoming students don't have the math skills necessary to excel at the Ivy League school. 4:30pm- Michael Whatley—Chairman of the Republican National Committee—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to react to President Donald Trump's announced 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs and the decision to place a tariff of 125% on Chinese goods. He explains: “For too long we had politicians in America that just rolled over and let China put these policies in place without any response.” Plus, Chairman Whatley discusses election integrity lawsuits still unfolding in Pennsylvania—pointing out that PA will undoubtedly be a crucial state in future elections. Weekday afternoons on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Rich Zeoli gives the expert analysis and humorous take that we need in this crazy political climate. Along with Executive Producer Matt DeSantis and Justin Otero, the Zeoli show is the next generation of talk radio and you can be a part of it weekday afternoons 3-7pm.

What's up, weather warriors! Dustin Breeze here, coming at you with a forecast that's gonna be more exciting than a fourth-quarter touchdown! We've got some seriously interesting atmospheric action brewing in New York City, so buckle up and get ready for a weather play-by-play that'll knock your socks off!Let's kick things off with our current conditions. Right now, we're looking at a cloudy situation with showers doing their best impression of a running back charging through the defensive line. We've got temperatures hovering around 48 degrees Fahrenheit, with a north wind cruising at 3 to 5 miles per hour. Talk about a meteorological Monday morning blitz!Time for our Weather Playbook segment! Today, we're diving into the wild world of precipitation formation. Think of clouds like a football team - they're collecting moisture droplets, passing them around until they get heavy enough to score a touchdown right onto the ground. When water vapor condenses and those droplets get too heavy, boom! Rainfall happens. It's like a perfect offensive strategy, but in the sky! Now, let's break down our three-day forecast like I used to break down defensive lines:First play - Sunday: We're looking at a 50 percent chance of showers. High temperature near 56 degrees Fahrenheit, with a northwest wind at 7 to 10 miles per hour. Consider this a potential scoring opportunity for precipitation!Second play - Sunday Night: Rain showers are going to blitz before 5 am, possibly mixing with some sleet. Low temperature around 41 degrees Fahrenheit. North wind around 9 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is looking strong at 80 percent!Third play - Monday: Rain showers continuing, potentially mixed with sleet early, then transitioning to all rain by 8 am. High temperature near 46 degrees Fahrenheit. North wind at 7 to 10 miles per hour. We've got some potential for mixed precipitation, so keep those umbrellas and rain jackets ready. It's gonna be WIIIIILD out there, folks!Hey, if you loved this weather breakdown, make sure to subscribe to our podcast! Discussion on Discourse 13 (June 02, 1991)Among the thousands of discourses delivered by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, those that He gave as part of the Summer Course series are remarkably special. They are focused on specific spiritual themes, and as they are for youngsters, the elucidation is gradual. In this series, members of Radio Sai and some senior devotees, go through the discourses delivered as part of the 1991 Summer Course Series.'Shravanam Mananam Nidhidhyasanam' which can be translated as 'Listen, Reflect and Assimilate' is a Vedantic edict to the spiritual aspirant on how the Supreme Truths are to be approached and absorbed. In this series, short clips of the discourses are listened to and reflected upon, with the prayer that the assimilation happens.
Hey weather warriors! Dustin Breeze here, and wow, do we have a meteorological match-up coming for New York City this weekend! First off, let me give you the play-by-play. Overnight, we've got a 20 percent chance of showers with temperatures holding steady around 56 degrees Fahrenheit. Think of it like a light defensive drizzle coming through with east winds at 10 to 13 miles per hour.Saturday's looking like a wet one, folks! We've got showers likely between 11 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Talk about a weather blitz! Temperatures will drop to around 46 degrees by noon, with east winds around 16 miles per hour. And hey, if you're wondering about precipitation, we're looking at about a tenth to a quarter of an inch - just enough to make you want to grab an umbrella! Now for our Weather Playbook segment! Let's talk about precipitation probability. Think of it like a quarterback's completion rate. A 60 percent chance of precipitation means the atmosphere is seriously thinking about dropping some water on us. It's not a guaranteed touchdown, but it's definitely in the red zone!Three-day forecast, coming in hot like a tight end breaking through the defensive line:Saturday: Cloudy with showers, high of 46Saturday Night: Chance of thunderstorms, temperature rising to 53Sunday: Cloudy with a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers, high of 51And for those unusual weather phenomena - nothing too crazy today, but keep an eye out for those east winds doing their dance! It's gonna be WIIIIILD out there, folks!Don't forget to subscribe to our podcast! Imagine this: seven days, seven different airports, and never leaving the terminal. No hotel rooms, just uncomfortable airport benches. Showers? Airport bathrooms only. Food? A strict $20-a-day budget. This wasn't a punishment; it was an experiment. In this special episode of The Thermostat Podcast, Jason V. Barger shares the remarkable origin story of his "Step Back from the Baggage Claim" philosophy – a journey that began with a bold, unconventional research project. Jason immersed himself in the chaotic world of airport terminals, observing human behavior at its most raw. He witnessed the "human wall of entitlement" at baggage carousels, the frustration of delayed flights, and the fleeting interactions between strangers. This experience became the foundation for his groundbreaking work on leadership and corporate culture. This episode isn't just about airports. It's about: The Power of Perspective: How stepping back from the everyday rush can reveal profound insights about ourselves and the cultures we create. Human Connection in a Disconnected World: Why recognizing the humanity in those around us is crucial for both personal and organizational success. Navigating Adversity: Learning to respond to challenges with intention and grace, rather than reacting with frustration. The Courage to Begin: How a seemingly crazy idea, fueled by a desire to make a difference, can transform into a meaningful career. Intentions and Actions: What you can do to become the ambassador of change. Join Jason as he reflects on the lessons learned during those seven days, the key principles that still guide his work, and how the "Step Back" philosophy can help you lead more effectively and create a more positive impact, wherever you are. This is the story of how a unique experiment sparked a movement – and it might just change the way you think about leadership, culture, and the power of human connection. Tune in and discover how to "step back to move forward" in your own life and work. You will not want to miss the start of Jason V. Barger and what has led him to be a sought-after keynote speaker. How did all of this journey begin and what was the point? Jason Barger reflects on the Step Back from the Baggage Claim journey and spirit that ignited it all. Good evening Kings and Queens, Allow the storms you are going in to drench you in showers, but know that when it's over the flowers will bloom. Have a blessed day
When it comes to getting clean, some people prefer chilling in the bath for a good half an hour or more, while others like how quick and practical it is having a shower. Let's consider the two choices from a health perspective. It's pretty common knowledge that taking a bath isn't very eco-friendly, in terms of water consumption. Of course there are variables at play here when comparing the two. When taking a bath, you only really need to fill around a third of the tub up, so your torso is submerged when you lie down. But some people will fill it higher, which obviously uses more water. When taking a shower, it depends how long you keep it running for and how powerful the flow rate is. What does taking a bath do to our bodies? What about its impact on the cardiovascular system? Are there any points of comparison where taking a shower is better? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! To listen to the last episodes, you can click here: How long do I have to wait to swim after eating? What are the world's least safe travel destinations? Hey weather warriors! Dustin Breeze here, and I'm about to drop some meteorological magic on you! We've got a cloudy weekend rolling into New York City that's gonna keep things interesting.Let's break this down like a football playbook! Right now, we're looking at overnight temperatures around 44 degrees with a slight 20 percent chance of showers. East winds will continue dancing between 8 to 10 miles per hour. You might want to keep a light jacket handy - it's gonna be more overcast than a defensive secondary! Now for our Weather Playbook segment! Today we're talking about cloud formations. Hey weather warriors! Dustin Breeze here, coming at you with some seriously electrifying atmospheric action for New York City! What's up, everybody? Today's forecast is gonna be more unpredictable than a rookie quarterback's first game! We've got a thirty percent chance of showers after five in the evening, and it's gonna be partly sunny with a high near fifty-eight degrees. Our southwest winds are gonna be cruising between six to eleven miles per hour - think of it like a smooth offensive drive across the meteorological field!Time for our Weather Playbook segment! Today, we're talking about pressure systems. Think of a high pressure system like a defensive line, blocking incoming weather patterns. When a high pressure system parks itself over an area, it basically says, "No precipitation allowed!" Low pressure systems? They're like running backs breaking through, bringing clouds and potential rain. Now, let's break down our three-day forecast like a championship game strategy:Today: Partly sunny, thirty percent shower chance, high of fifty-eightTonight: Thirty percent shower possibility before eight, dropping to thirty-twoSunday: Total sunny victory! High of forty-seven, wind chill between twenty-five and thirty-fiveIncoming weather system alert! Monday's looking like a total washout - eighty percent chance of rain with precipitation between a quarter to half an inch. It's gonna be a wet one, folks!Hey, do you want more wild weather insights? Discussion on Discourse 12 (June 01, 1991)Among the thousands of discourses delivered by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, those that He gave as part of the Summer Course series are remarkably special.

Send us a textWhat makes a truly memorable leader? Dr. Rob Lion believes it's someone who creates work environments that energize people rather than drain them – a philosophy he's developed through his fascinating journey from academic to multi-business entrepreneur. In this soul-stirring conversation, Dr. Lion shares how he navigated the challenging transition from economic development expert to cycling studio owner, restaurateur, and finally to the leadership consultant he is today. His candid stories about COVID destroying businesses he'd built from scratch offer rare insights into the resilience required to pivot when everything seems lost."I realized everything's learned," Dr. Lion explains, describing his epiphany that entrepreneurship wasn't an innate gift but rather a skill anyone could develop with the right mindset. "It's usually us that gets in our way." This growth perspective became foundational to his business philosophy, which he distills into the memorable phrase "give me growers, not showers" – valuing humble learners over know-it-alls.The most valuable nugget may be Dr. Lion's insights about psychological safety in organizations. When leaders respond consistently to both triumphs and failures, team members develop the courage to admit mistakes, ask questions, and hold themselves accountable. This creates cultures where innovation thrives naturally rather than being forced.Dr. Lion's wisdom extends beyond the workplace into personal relationships too. His "24-hour rule" with his spouse – allowing only one day to process negative emotions before moving forward – demonstrates how principles of emotional intelligence can strengthen both professional and personal connections. "We've learned to give each other permission to sit in the suck," he explains, "and it's amazing how quickly we move back out of that."Whether you're leading a Fortune 500 company, launching your first startup, or simply trying to build stronger relationships, Dr. Lion's practical advice will transform how you approach the human side of business. As I've been looking back through all the emails passing back and forth between the newspaper, our friends and family, the church staff, etc., that went on in those days immediately following Hannah's homegoing, I'm struck by how "together" I appeared to be. My communication skills were intact and I was generally coherent, but I remember none of it.Thank you for joining me for another bonus episode of the While We're Waiting podcast in this year-long series in which I share our family's experiences as our teenage daughter Hannah battled glioblastoma brain cancer from February 2008 through February 2009. My desire is to process through the events of those twelve months with the perspective that 16 years has brought … and point listeners to hope in Jesus along the way.I would love to hear your thoughts on the show.
