One Big Story - Week 1 You know, the two most common things parents hear when they’re putting their kids to bed are… “Can I have a drink?” and “Can you read me a story.” It’s been said that our need to hear stories…in some ways…is a natural part of our make-up as humans. And just as water quenches our thirst…stories somehow have a way of hydrating our minds. That’s why we dream in stories. That’s why, when Lucy and I go to see the grandkids, they want to set on our laps so that we can read them a story. You see, stories have a way of coming into our lives and grabbing a hold of our hearts. And the interesting thing is this, we look everywhere to find them except the one place that has the most incredible stories that you could ever imagine...God’s Word. This Sunday, June 14th, I’m starting our new summer series called, “One Big Story”, that will start in Genesis and go through the book of Revelation. It will give us an overview of the Bible, not in depth, but a good overview that will help us to discover our story as we unpack God’s story. This will be our summer series for the next 3 summer sessions. Can’t wait to dive in this Sunday @ 10am... Jerry

As a Pastor, this is uncharted territory for me and we are doing our best to try and stay connected as a church family and we'll try to come up with more ways for us to do that as the days and weeks move forward. So with that said, one of the things that I've been wresting with is what to share with you on Sundays. So far, I've followed God's leading and I hope that it's been a blessing to you. But, the last 2 days, God's been leading me back to a sense of normalcy. I think, it's as much for me as it is for you. So, God lead me to a series that the "Village Church" did that was created from Glenn Packiam's new book, Blessed Broken Given and I will begin this series this Sunday morning March 29th. Here's a preview... "Throughout Scripture, we discover that nothing is as common as it seems, not even bread. On the night that He was handed over to suffer and die, He took bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave it to His disciples as a picture of His body being given for the life of the world. Over the next 4-weeks, we’ll discover how our story becomes sacred in the hands of Jesus, we’ll discover that life, like bread, isn’t as ordinary as it may seem." Hey Westside Family and Friends... As of a couple of days ago, we knew there was a possibility that the Governor would put a restriction on the size of gatherings to 100 and above. That mandate came through late this afternoon which means for the immediate future, we will not be gathering for worship at Westside. Instead, we will live stream the service each week @ 10am until this restriction is lifted. I know this is not the ideal, but it does give us a chance to be the church in our homes and neighborhoods. I’ll share more on this tomorrow during our live stream as well as this coming week. If you would like to take communion here at the church, I will stay around after our live stream to provide it for you. We will be serving communion between 11:15 - 12:15pm. Again, I know this is a tough time for everyone that’s why I felt led to change what I was preaching on and focus on the topic... “Dealing with Adversity”. I’m really excited to be able to share with you what our response to all that God has done to save us, should be. This could change your life forever. Here’s what’s happening at Westside... • Time Change Weekend... Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead 1 hr. before you go to bed tonight. We don’t want anyone to miss what God’s up too. • WS Kids Sunday Morning Worship: Join us each and every Sunday morning for an amazing WS Kids Worship time!! This is for kids in K-5th grade. Please be in prayer for this and feel free to reach out to volunteer in our Kid's Ministry! • Community Groups: Sunday morning @ 9am in the 3rd-5th grade room... Sunday after the worship service in the worship center... Wednesday night @ 6:30pm at the church... • Youth Inc Middle School Lock-Out: On March 13th-14th, come join us as we travel throughout the night to one fun destination after the other! Our journey begins at CiCi's pizza, then we head to a trampoline park, ice skating is third and we wrap the night/morning up with a movie! This is a MIDDLE SCHOOL ONLY EVENT! The cost is $30 and can be paid at the door. • Pancakes and PJ’S... Join us for our next “Westside Family Hangout” on March 15th from 5 - 6:30pm.
