God has been writing His story since the beginning. Through the centuries this story has been written on the hearts and lives of God's people and today, in our lives, it is no different. Every person has a story that they are writing with their lives. To make that story last, to make it meaningful, it must become part of something bigger than an individual life. Intersecting our story with God's story is how we find meaning in a world of seemingly random emptiness. We need to know God's story and then see how God has invited us, now, to be an eternal part of His story. He is writing the story of redemption still. Will you be a part of God's big story?

What is the point of all history? What is God up to in this world? What is His motive behind all of it? And how do we respond to Him? These are eternally important questions that our GraceLife Kids have been learning about at their Eureka gathering this week. It's all in God's One Big Story. And the Bible can help us summarize this story in 3 words: God saves sinners. Join us for our family-style celebration service, marking the end of an incredible week together learning about God and His truth. We will enjoy baptisms, new members, lunch, and Jeremiah's Ice! See you there!

Following Jesus resurrection and ascension, God sends “another counselor.” The Holy Spirit and He launches the Church. Both are given to keep us connected to and living out His story. #cedarcreekchurch #2023sermon #onlinechurch #churchonline Senior Pastor Phillip Lee Danny Wilson, Banks Mill Campus Pastor Cedar Creek Church Aiken, SC Like, comment & subscribe to stay updated with the latest content! Bottom Line: Jesus didn't come to replace the law; He came to fulfill it. He gave His life to rescue those who put their faith in Him. Scripture: Romans 3:21-28; 2 Cor. 5:19 Four things the death of Jesus accomplished: 1) Purchased my forgiveness. 2) Paid my debt. 3) Preserved God's character. 4) Provided reconciliation. Truths: Living like you have to rescue yourself and living like you have been rescued are two totally different things that feel two totally different ways. One is exhausting while the other is freeing. So, what are you going to do about the cross? One Big Story A Rebel's Cause - Part 6 2 Samuel 11-12 Rebellion is not simply the rejection of rules. It is ultimately rejecting the ruler. The question is not if you rebel, but what do you do when you rebel? Two Responses To Your Rebellion: 1) Keep it in the dark. 2) Bring it to the light. - Confess it to God. - Confess it to others. Bottom Line: Because God gave the Law to His people after he rescued them from Egypt, we know that the purpose of the law in not earn God's love; it is the expression of God's love. Scripture: Exodus 20; Romans 4:13; Romans 3:20 Three Purposes of God's Law: 1) To confirm God's love, not as condition of it. 2) Reveals God's values. 3) Reveals our need for grace and forgiveness. Truths: The more you understand God's law, the more you understand God and yourself. Every loving parent provides protective guardrails. Not to keep them from the good things, but to keep them for the best things. Bottom Line: God initiated a promise with His people even though they didn't deserve it. Scripture: Genesis 11:30-31; Genesis 12:1-3, 15:1, 5-6 Three ways God cleans up messes: 1) Through His power and timing. 2) By keeping His promises. 3) By establishing a relationship based on trust. Truths: Story after story is told in Scripture of how humanity just can't get it right, how broken the relationship really is between God and His most prized creation. But then we are introduced to a man named Abram—a man we would later know as Abraham. Simply by believing that God would make good on His promise, Abram was in good standing with God. Bottom Line: When sin entered the world, everything was broken, but God didn't abandon His creation. Scripture: Genesis 2:16-17; Genesis 3:1-8, 15-24 Three insights from the fall: 1) I get a clearer view of God. 2) I get a better understanding of me. 3) I get a reason to hope. Truths: We were created to have God at the center of our lives. Like our first parents (Adam & Eve) we have a sin problem. We have a spiritual enemy that seeks to throw a “wrench” into God's plan for us. Our sin separates us from God. But God has a redemptive plan. A plan to not only rescue and restore us to Himself, but to use even our fall to draw us to Him and give us hope. Bottom Line: In the beginning a good God created a good world that reflected how good He is. Scripture: Proverbs 19:1-2; Genesis 1:1,10, 26-31 Four Lessons from creation: 1) God is powerful and creative. 2) The importance of God's Word. 3) God has a plan. 4) Its God's story and we have a role in it. Truths: Everything God wanted, God made. It was good. God wanted something VERY good, so he made US in HIS image. We are his image bearers. Bottom Line: The Bible is God's story of love and redemption, and we find OUR story in HIS story. Scripture: Acts 17:27-28; Acts 8:26-39 (Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch) 3 Keys to Getting into God's Story: 1) Be open to it. 2) Be willing to give and receive help 3) Be courageous enough to take the NEXT step Truths: You are not an accident. You were created on purpose, for a purpose. The more we understand God's story, the more our lives make sense.
