Finding Peace in a Busy World - Philippians: A Grace-filled Life - Week 8 by St Stephen's Willoughby
There is a promise for all who believe in Jesus, that there can be no comparison between the present hard times we go through and the coming good times God has set out for us. This hope allows us to wait with expectation and anticipation even if what we go through in our lives doesn't always seem good. His invitation to us in the midst of the pain throughout our world and within our lives is to remember that the longer we wait, the deeper the joy will be when we step into all that God has promised for us. Even when we are tired of waiting, hoping, and praying, the Holy Spirit who has filled us is right alongside of us guiding our words and hearts back to God's goodness. That's why we can be filled with hope, and sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good. Check out Week Four of The Good Life here as Pastor Skyler unpacks Romans 8:18-27!
Radical Life // Week 2 // Scandalous CallingPastors JF & Ashley WilkersonMatthew 28:16-20 NIV 16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”1. THE BODYMatthew 28:19 NIV 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.Ephesians 3:4-6 NIV 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets. 6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.1. THE BODY2. THE BLESSINGGalatians 3:5-9 NIV 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? 6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. 7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. 8 Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” 9 So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.Galatians 3:26-29 NIV 26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.Galatians 3:28-29 NIV 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.1. THE BODY2. THE BLESSING3. THE BEAUTY1 Corinthians 12:12-14 NIV 12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.Romans 12:4-5; 9-10; 15-16a NIV 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others…9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves…15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16a Live in harmony with one another…1. THE BODY2. THE BLESSING3. THE BEAUTY

He has chosen us to be His children, and He is a good father with good gifts. The good life in Jesus doesn't just choose us, but calls us into all that we are and all that we were made for. Matthew 22:36-40 NIV 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”Luke 10:25-29 NIV25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” 27 He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' ” 28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” 29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”1. Radical Love Crosses BoundariesLuke 10:30-31 NIV30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 1. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,' he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'1. Romans 8:5-13 It's easy to live disordered and distracted lives. Constantly focused on what more we need to do and never seeming to amount to what we hoped we would on our own. Romans 8 calls this the life obsessed with self. It is described as a life where our thoughts, priorities and decisions lead us to think more about ourselves than about God. The reality is, this focus on self leads us to a divided and dead life. Jesus' invitation for us is to live our lives focused on God is an invitation to a life of peace and focus. When our focus is on God, the only direction He knows is life to the full. He is a God of life and goodness, and the promise is that when our focus is on Him, we will experience the good life.
Since the Garden of Eden, we have lived in a fallen world with sinful people and broken peace, but there is good news! Jesus stepped into the brokenness to restore us and give us His perfect peace. God invites us into that peace with a mission—to be peacemakers—not avoiding conflict but building bridges through conflict. Join us as we look to the Beatitudes to discover how to live in perfect peace with God and help others experience unity through Jesus. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Real faith doesn't stop in your head or heart—it shows up in your hands. In “James: Faith That Works (James 2),” Pastor Peter unpacks why the church must reject favoritism, how mercy triumphs over judgment, and how Abraham and Rahab prove that genuine faith acts. If you're ready to move from belief to obedience, this message is for you.

Welcome family! This is Pastor Joe Moss II with Make God Famous Church, and I'm so glad you've joined us today. We're in Week 2 of our series God's Map for Your Life. Last week we talked about roads—the way we travel. This week, we're stepping into gates—the points of entry.Jesus said in Matthew 7, ‘Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.'Today we're going to talk about the gates in your life—the decisions you face, the authority you give, the protection you need, and how Christ Himself is the true Gate. Don't just stand near it. Don't just admire it. Enter it. Let's get into this word.
Romans 8:1-4 Our life without Jesus leaves us empty, exhausted and always trying to achieve something better. Jesus' invitation is to lay down our own efforts in life and take up the grace, truth and hope of Jesus. With the arrival of Jesus into this world and the death of Jesus for this world, we can be filled with and embrace a new power- the power of His Holy Spirit, that fills and frees us to walk into the wide-open spaces of God's love.
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." Matthew 5:9Is it possible for us to see God move? How could we possibly keep ourselves pure? Pure does not mean perfection; it is what we become when we live by Jesus' promises. What is holding you back from living in His perfect promises instead of your flawed goodness? Join us as we look to God's Word to seek Him and His restoration. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
