    On Wednesday, October 30th, young professionals attended our monthly Executive Speaker Series at Most Holy Trinity Church in Detroit, MI. Our guest speaker was Jeff Shiefelbein, Co-Founder and Chief Culture Officer in an energy advisory firm called 5. The YCP Detroit Executive Speaker Series is a free event at 7:00pm on either the last Tuesday or last Wednesday of every month. Young professionals network over complimentary beer, wine, and appetizers before the evening's speech. Executives share their professional and faith journeys with young professionals in their 20’s and 30’s and challenge them to ‘Work in Witness for Christ!’ Thank you to the volunteers who helped with setup, check-in, serving drinks and cleanup.     Walter Czarnecki, Executive Vice President for Penske Corporation, spoke at Young Catholic Professionals (YCP) Detroit’s Executive Speaker Series event on June 27, 2018, at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, the mother church and center of our faith community in the Archdiocese of Detroit. Over 140 young professionals listened to Mr. Czarnecki’s stories and experiences as a husband of 52 years, a father of three children, a strong Catholic, and a leader in his workplace. He described his experience with business ethics and the building process at Penske (which he saw grow from 125 employees at the beginning to 60,000 now – due to the people and integrity of the company); he told of how he was strengthened when he stopped inside St. Paul the Apostle Church in New York City after the stock market was cut in half; he explained the morning prayer routine that he and his wife Ginny practice and how that routine strengthens both his marriage and his own mindset to look toward professional endeavors through the lens of spirituality.
