"I'm doing great, how are you?" We've all been guilty of saying this, and some of us are programmed to answer any question with a phrase like this. But what if we weren't meant to hide our struggles behind a mask of seeming fine? In this new series, we'll be looking at the lies we try and tell others and ourselves. The Bible gives us a blueprint to boldly take our masks off and use our experiences to help others!

Do you ever worry your stories aren't landing with readers? Too many nonfiction writers share great content but miss the chance to make readers feel. It's like flying over the Grand Canyon without ever stepping out to take in the view. That's why I invited Nathan Baugh, founder of Worldbuilders, to join me on the show. Nathan has studied hundreds of stories and distilled what makes them unforgettable into 4 key tenets every writer can use. If you want to transform your storytelling, this episode will show you how. Hi! I'm Will Parker Anderson and I'm an editor and writing coach, here to help you get the message burning in your heart onto the page and into the world. Have you ever gotten a warning from God? Whether it be a feeling in your stomach or an interaction sent your way, God has a way of letting us know when something is off in our spiritual lives. As we finish our study of the book of Malachi, we discuss how we can identify God's warning signs in our lives and embrace the hope that's waiting on the other side of them.
In this episode, Casey explores the true power of compounding — how time, trust, and disciplined habits create outcomes far greater than the sum of their parts. He shares how two decades of relationship equity, balance sheet building, and pattern recognition came together in a real estate transaction that turned an empty Class A office into a 12 year cash-flowing asset while unlocking $25M in equity. He reframes compounding beyond money into skills, reputation, and momentum. Drawing on Tony Robbins' framework of recognizing, utilizing, and creating patterns, Casey shows how consistent daily inputs set the stage for exponential results when opportunity arises. For high performers, he offers a practical system: a morning routine of cold plunge, sauna, prayer, breathwork, and 100 daily burpees, followed by three focusing questions — Who am I, What are my biggest opportunities, and What fires me up. The lesson is clear: small, intentional actions compound into extraordinary advantages over time.Learn how to expand compounding beyond finance into habits, reputation, and opportunity design. See the real estate case study step-by-step: buying a $42M building for $15M, securing a long-term tenant, financing in a brutal office market, and returning 100% of investor principal in nine months. Steal Casey's daily system (cold plunge, sauna, prayer/meditation, breathwork, 100 burpees, and three focusing questions) to build compounding advantages in your own life. Why does God want your money? He's all-knowing and all-powerful, and he created everything in the first place. As we continue studying the book of Malachi, we find out why money itself means nothing to God. Giving is an act of worship, and God won't bless what we aren't willing to give to Him.
If God is love, does that mean He can't hate? There are actually several things that get this label from God in the label, and divorce is one of them. In week 2 of our journey through the book of Malachi, we learn about the true purpose marriage has and why God takes ending marriage so seriously.
When it comes to your spiritual life, what are you giving to God? Whether it's time, attention, or effort, it's easy to fall into the trap of only giving God whatever is left over from our own priorities. As we start our journey through the book of Malachi, we find God telling the Israelites that he is worthy of more than just their (and our) leftovers.

"Because God said so." Have you ever gotten this answer when asking a question about the Bible? Our entire faith is placed in God's Word, but it can be difficult for us to defend when, how, or even why it was put together. In Week 4 of “TikTok Theology,” we take a broad look at how the Bible was assembled and why we can still trust it thousands of years from the original Scriptures being written.
Hell is a real place. It's not as fun to talk about as heaven, but if we don't, we risk diminishing just how powerful the death and resurrection of Jesus is. In Week 3 of “TikTok Theology,” we look at 4 reasons why a loving God would allow people to go to hell.

Spoiler: it's true. You don't have to go church to be a Christian, but God didn't design this walk to be one that's done alone. Church is more than a building: it's a community. As we continue taking on "Tiktok Theology," we zoom in on four reasons the Bible gives us to make church a priority.
What is the one thing you want most in life? If your answer is happiness, you're not alone. Society has taught us that the ultimate goal for ourselves and others is to be happy, but what if God designed us for so much more? In the first edition of "TikTok Theology," we look at the dangers of settling for temporary happiness over longterm joy.

In this episode, Alex sat down with Amanda Baugh to chat about her new book, Falling in Love with Nature: The Values of Latinx Catholic Environmentalism. An ethnographic study of Hispanic Catholics, Baugh's book argues to widen the definition of environmentalism to include those who commit more sustainable actions (recycling, public transportation) not because of an express desire to be an environmentalist, but because of pious attention to loving nature in order to uphold one's faith. Spurred by a Public Religion Research Institute survey that found that Hispanic Catholics were more concerned about climate change than any other religious focus group, Baugh pushes against notions of the environmentalism of the poor. The idea that impoverished people practice more sustainable living due to their class, Baugh instead analyzes their faith. Recorded on the day of the conclave for a new Pope, this is a perfect companion piece to last month's episode with Kate Rigby! Every journey in Christ is different. Sometimes we spend years running away from God, and other times we spend years resting in comfort after initially being on fire for Christ. But no matter what, God's purpose is always waiting for us. As we wrap up our series "When Jesus Ruined My Life," we examine two very different journeys in faith: a tax collector and a religious teacher.
Being around Jesus isn't the same as knowing Jesus. We can know scripture, we can go to church, but it's our heart that God is seeking above all else. For the next stop in our series "When Jesus Ruined My Life," we see how frutiless knowledge can be without the boldness to step out in faith.
How will you be remembered? In the case of Pontius Pilate, his legacy is tied to the death of Jesus. As we continue through our series "When Jesus Ruined My Life," we dive into the problem with passivity and the importance of acting boldly against the crowd.
Around here, we say Jesus changes everything. But what happens when "everything" includes parts of our lives we don't want to change? As we start this new series, we look at the familiar story of Zacchaeus. While you may only remember the catchy song about it from Vacation Bible School, this story holds a powerful lesson for us.
In this episode, Sean Melia welcomes Marcos Baugh, the founder of Urban Golf Club, a Boston-based nonprofit bringing golf and financial literacy to kids in the city. Marcos shares how he uses foam golf balls in gymnasiums, lemonade stands at Franklin Park, and caddie loops at The Country Club to open new worlds for his students. The two dig into what it really means to "grow the game," the potential of Ponkapoag, LIV vs. PGA Tour, and why everyone should experience the game.
We don't like making sacrifices. It's human nature. But what if the one thing you refuse to let go of is the one thing keeping you from what God has for you? As we wrap up this two week series, we look at the faith Abraham displayed by being willing to sacrifice his own son, Isaac.
You've heard the Gospel called "the good news," but Jesus gives us plenty of bad news to wrestle with. In week 1 of this new series, we discuss John 15:18-25 where Jesus famously warns that his followers will be hated by the world, but only because it hated him first.
God doesn't call us to be perfect, He calls us to be faithful. Throughout the Bible we see story after story of God using imperfect people for incredible things. In this special Mother's Day message, we go to the book of Micah to examine the qualities God is looking for us to exhibit as a reflection of His goodness.
In Week 2 of Elephant in the Room, Pastor Jason dives into more of your questions about the Bible, church, Taco Bell, and everything in between!
"Most nonfiction books could've been blog posts—but fiction sticks with you for life." — Nathan BaughIs fiction just entertainment—or is it the best self-help you're not reading? In this episode, Rain Bennett sits down with storyteller, writer, and World Builders creator Nathan Baugh to talk about the power of fiction in a world obsessed with productivity, optimization, and self-help checklists. Together they explore the overlooked lessons hiding in classic novels, the creative trap of only producing for money, and the rising role of AI in the writing world.Nathan opens up about how he left a traditional job to build a platform as a writer, how he balances client work with his fantasy novels, and why his mission is to simply write stories he'd want to read. They also break down what makes a twist land, how storytelling frameworks translate across mediums, and the unexpected ways fiction can deepen human connection. If you're trying to create meaningful work in a noisy digital world, this conversation is a breath of fresh air.In this episode, you will learn to:Reframe fiction as a powerful personal development tool, not just an escape or guilty pleasure.Balance monetized work with meaningful creative output, even if your art doesn't pay off immediately.Strengthen your audience connection by telling stories about your own struggles, not just giving advice.Understand how fiction builds empathy, creativity, and resilience in ways nonfiction often can't.Navigate the impact of AI on creative work by doubling down on voice, experience, and storytelling fundamentals. Inside America's Hidden Nation: His Excellency President Kevin Baugh of Molossia!
More than just a hymn, our hope is rooted in these words. Because of that, it's also a message we're meant to share. We all have a testimony of what "Because He Lives" means in our life, and this Easter we're reminded of the power those stories have.
Forgiveness is a gift. Not just to us from God, but for us to exercise in our own lives. We aren't meant to carry around all the times we feel we've been wronged, and forgiveness allows us to let go of that baggage. As we wrap up "Dear Younger Me," we see Joseph making the ultimate choice to forgive his brothers because he knew God's plan was greater than their intent to harm him.

Life is full of setbacks. We all have difficult seasons and moments we've made it through, but it's easy to forget about them once a new challenge pops up. As we continue through Joseph's journey, we find him in a spot of feeling hopeless. Yet, he still knew he would make it through because of God's faithfulness.
If you could write a letter to your younger self, what would it say? What advice would you pass on with the hindsight of experiencing the highs and lows of your own life? As we start our journey through the life of Joseph, we find him in a spot we've all found ourselves in - experiencing pain from something that wasn't his fault.
You need to learn to serve before you can lead. God puts people in our lives to lead us to prepare us for the same opportunities with others. In the finale of "Elijah," we see how our main character invests in Elisha to prepare him to leave a lasting legacy of his own.
Today I'm sharing an interview I did with Amy Baugh, a member of Language Therapy Advance Foundations. Amy Baugh is an experienced SLP, a life-long learner and truly enjoys listening to podcasts, joining SLP groups on social media and collaborating with her besties about all things' speech, language and being a business owner. She is the proud mother of two college aged daughters and enjoys learning and practicing functional health, working out, reading, and cooking. She is the owner of Elation Speech and Language Services. Link here: https://www.elationspeech.com/When Amy took a position at a high school with a large caseload, she knew she needed a solid strategy for keeping intervention intensive, but also ensuring teachers and paraprofessionals had the information they needed to support students in class, which is what inspired her to join Language Therapy Advance Foundations. When many clinicians come to me for support, they're often focused on the “micro”, such as planning sessions. That's why one of the first things I give clinicians I support is a framework clinicians can use for language therapy in direct intervention. However, once clinicians have their heads above water and they have the mental bandwidth to focus on the “macro”, they realize what else is possible when it comes to the impact they can make, as well as career opportunities. In Amy's case, it meant being able to focus on training teachers and paraprofessionals to implement language intervention in the classroom, as well as having an intervention framework to use when she started a private practice. In this conversation, we discuss:✅The power of consultation and coaching when you have a large caseload.✅The “house” strategy for initiating collaborations with teachers and adjacent disciplines.✅Why focusing on your “systems”, like your schedule, habits, and frameworks can help you get buy-in from teachers and administration. ✅The importance of syntax, vocabulary, and word study at the secondary level. You can connect with Amy at the Elation Speech and Language website here: https://www.elationspeech.com/You can also connect with her on LinkedIn here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/amy-baugh-m-a-ccc-slp-20bb974b/Amy is a member of Language Therapy Advance Foundations, my program that gives SLPs and other service providers create a system for language therapy. Our feelings can lie. How we feel in a single moment has the potential to impact decisions that last a lifetime, so how do we navigate our constantly changing thoughts and emotions? In Week 3 of "Elijah," we follow our main character through a moment of self-doubt interrupted by the reassuring voice of a never changing God.
How many things have you stopped praying for? There isn't just power in prayer, there is power in believing in your prayer. In week 2 of "Elijah," we discuss what it means to go all in on expecting God to deliver on His promises.
We all want our lives to matter. We all want to leave an impact. There are many stories of impactful lives in the Bible, and one of those is the life of Elijah. In the first sermon of this new series, we discuss why God will hide our purpose from us until we are ready to fulfill it.

Did you know the Bible has a love triangle? It's right near the beginning in Genesis, when Jacob finds himself married to two sisters. What can we take away from a wild story like this? Well, that's exactly what we dive into in part 2 of "The Worst Love Story... Ever." Spoiler: You'll probably be able to relate to this story more than you think!
Sometimes we forget the Bible is a collection of real, imperfect experiences and people. The story of Jacob and Rachel (and Leah) is a great example of that, and it's why we're spending the next two weeks diving into the *worst* love story ever. In week 1 of this new series, we find out how God can use the faults of others to reflect our own shortcomings.
"I don't have time." Something we've all said at some point or another, but too often we say it about our spiritual life. It's easy to become so busy that we miss out on our purpose due to everything else going on in our lives. In week 4 of "How's Your Soul?', we discuss the importance of making room to grow in the Lord.
This week the guys discuss well... NYR being back in business and if that should change anything about how they handle this season. Then Peter Baugh joins the Breakaway to discuss the vibes in the locker room, who could be traded, the Matt Rempe theory and more. Finally the guys return and answer 5 star questions - as per usual Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
