Our annual tradition of holiday-themed Gundams continues! In an alternate universe, General Gihren Zabi plots to ruin Christmas by making a deal with a demon so powerful even the Nazis were afraid of him. Armed with his Gundam Sleigh-er and his herd of nine Reign-fear, Gihren and his ally from beyond the veil seek to extinguish all joy in the Earth sphere. Humanity's only hope rests with the prototype Gundam X-MAS and its band of merry mobile suits – a surly Frosty the Snowman, an Abominable Snow Monster, and a femme fatale codenamed Ho-Ho-Holiday. Suit up and strap in for a very Merry Christmas, listeners!

Come see all of your favorite characters from the special including Santa and Mrs. Claus, Hermey the Elf, the Abominable Snow Monster, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius, and of course, Rudolph, as they come to life in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. In This Episode, Joe is joined by a special guest… His daughter Abby, and they are covering two classic animated christmas specials. During "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," they discuss Chuck Jones' influence on making the special, the two voices of the Grinch and Abby shares the true meaning of Christmas (And probably the other holidays too). During "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer," they talk about the location of the old Rudolph and Santa Puppets, Abby attempts to name the reindeer and sings along to a lot of this movie. In the face of danger, Abby's views on the Abominable Snow Monster get DARK. *NOTE* Please forgive the small gaps of silence or banging noises, Abby is still a podcaster in training, but I think she did a great job on the first try. By the end of it, she really finds her speed.
As Kellen and Adham Fisher find out, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is at first glance a harmless Christmas special from Rankin / Bass. However, it doesn't take long to realize that this special contains the most evil character in any Christmas special, worse than the Grinch, the Wet Bandits, and the Satanic Woodland Critters. No, it's not the Abominable Snow Monster of the North. It's Donner.

Mike and Jay this week as the ACA Supreme Court trilogy reaches its thrilling conclusion. As often is the case, the sequels just aren't as good and the Court dismisses for lack of standing. Jay and Mike talk about standing severability and a mandate that really looks unconstitutional but is as toothless as that Abominable Snow Monster at the end of Rudolf. Then — Happy Juneteenth! Mike and Jay agree that our new holiday is good one and discuss why. Next, disco may be dead, but 70s style inflation may be making a comeback. Are the Feds expected rate hikes a drag or just groovy enough for the economy to keep on truckin'? And finally, its back to the Supreme Court where Justice Alito's had a busy week. Religious liberty wins 9-0, but is the Court ducking the question on the free exercise clause? The Politics Guys on Facebook | TwitterListener support helps make The Politics Guys possible.
