Greetings from behind enemy lines. Since last we spoke, this monstrous old house has been overrun with guests - they've stolen my privacy, and also the extensive collection of blankets and spare furniture with which I'd created my little recording nook and all-purpose snuggery. I am *not* pleased. Goodwill-towards-man is one thing, but there are limits, and this sudden crush of humanity has made it entirely impossible for me to record the next episode in the dubious saga of VC Adrian Ward, KBE, Alds, &c. Still, all is not lost. The Aldergate Papers shall carry on into the new year, just as soon as my hosts evict this festive mob and let me have my things back. In the meantime, it is my pleasure to offer a supercut of my own personal holiday favorite: "Told After Supper," a delightful compilation of Christmas Eve ghostliness by the inimitable Jerome K. Jerome. Happy holidays to one and all. Stay warm, stay safe, and I'll see you bright and early in 2018. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Almost the end of our mini-series, the holiday is drawing to a close...But not before Ben, Mike, and Jon face the final challenge from Jamie! What monocle-esque fate befalls Jon? Is Mike sober enough to speak coherently? Why does Ben get chastised? Please join us as the holiday ends to see if we escape!
It's into the last half of the holiday, and as everyone does we've become rather comfortable by this point. Jamie, Jon, and Mike go through Ben's picnic hamper, what will they find inside? What does Mike clamp between his thighs? Who does Jon spy on the receipt? Will anybody listen to Jamie? Tune in to find out what dreadful puns Ben has in store!
Join the TIER team for episode two of their holiday mini-series. Follow Jamie, Jon, and Ben this week as we turn to Mike's lovely view out of a window. Does Jamie have a stomach of steel? What will Ben try with a small pump? After everything that we've tried to censor in the past, what hill will Jon die on? Questions, answers, and probably more questions are to be found in this episode of the TIER holiday special!
Should we take pride in our country? Listen to this lesson to learn how the Founding Fathers had the wisdom to form a nation based on biblical principles which makes it exceptional. See how Psalm 35 was studied by these men to apply to their relationship with England. Find out that for several hundred years people had been struggling with the concept of whether it was right to resist tyranny of rulers. Hear facts all of us have learned about the Declaration of Independence that were false. During this Bible class Dr. Dean mentioned several resources (in addition to those mentioned in Part 2) to enhance your understanding of American history and the conditions in America today including: Online video: Biblical Justice vs. Social Justice by Voddie Baucham Defending the Declaration: How the Bible and Christianity Influenced the Writing of the Declaration of Independence by Gary Amos This message also includes a special presentation by one of Light in Action's missionaries Joel Craig from Brazil. You can find the Tetelestai Project videos at: Tetelestai Project. They're also available on Amazon Prime and Pure Flix.
Imagine being a settler in one of the early colonies in the United States. Hear a timeline of the events that led up to the intense need for independence from England who was abusing these settlers through unfair taxation and ignoring their pleas for relief. Understand that the basic orientation of these people was their belief in God and the Word of God. See how the Founding Fathers quoted from Psalm 35 and find out how it can be applied in our prayers for America today.

What are we celebrating on July 4th? Listen to this message to learn about the amazing, one-of-a-kind Declaration of Independence to sort out its actual story, which is often misrepresented. Hear about its author and the people who signed it and how knowledgeable they were. Understand what historical events brought these men together and what their worldview was. Find out how Psalm 35 strengthened the resolve of our founding fathers and how it applies to us today.
It's July and the TIER gang are going on holibobs! But don't fear, we shan't leave you high and dry - you're going to get a four part mini-series! This week, bask briefly in the sun before learning how our four presenters get locked into a beach hut. Jon leads the puzzling by putting us in a potentially explosive predicament. Which one of us will wield the power of attraction? Who can see the bigger picture? Are any of us left flagging...? Answers and yet more questions lie in this weeks episode of TIER!
You can listen to the episode by clicking: Episode 84 We are back with two stories for the price of one! Can you believe the value you are getting?? Trust me, it is a lot since you are not paying for this effort and work we put in to give you this entertainment. Speaking of taking something....it looks like Jack is up to his old tricks. I mean, look at this. He has broken into the Bat Cave and is taking some of the ultra big items Batman has aquired over the years. JACK....This is why w can't have nice things. What we want and expect is needless and destructive violence. That is all we crave. Give me a big lizard swinging a broadsword or a brother kidnapping another brother and we are happy. Sure, some romance is nice.....I guess....and who does not like drama.....well, us actually. But there is drama we all have to deal with, and sometimes that is from romance...and sometime it is from giant lizards with swords. You don't know! Don't judge me! I guess we should mention the flaming skull in the room. I really don't want to, but I guess we should. Sigh. Ok....it is glowing. Now that we have finished talking about that, I guess we should talk about how Jack is really not all that bad. He is a good kid that is trying to make it in the world. Sure, he slips sometimes, but who among us have not pushed a drug dealer off of a two story building. In conclusion, I would like to leave you with the immortal words from Abraham Lincoln; Be excellent to each other. and Party on Dudes! Dads. We all have at least one, somewhere. Many of them are amazing role models, but some provide a great example of what NOT to do. They all add something to the mix. They have one of the most difficult and rewarding jobs on the planet and on this episode I wanted to get into what it means to be a dad. Why is it so important? What are dad's doing right? What are they doing wrong? How is this generation going to improve on the last? As a father and a son myself, I love talking about family relationships, despite the strong aversion that I have noticed in many people when I bring up the topic. Familial bonds are so crucial to healthy functioning and development and they can get messed up so easily. I wanted to do a podcast that focuses on the good stuff. So I invited some special guests into the studio and we talked about dads. I brought in multiple perspectives and we get to hear some personal dad stories from some of my favorite people. Guests for today's episode include (in order of appearence): Amelia Nesbitt Luke & Bridgett Binion Michelle Binion Melissa Nesbitt And Jeff Nesbitt Jr. (my dad) This podcast came out different that I had planned and I think it is great. You never know what people are going to say in here and sometimes it can be very surprising. So please get comfortable and enjoy this special episode of Ramble by the River. YESSSSS!!!! We made it.! This is the content you crave by the creators you love! The PACK IS BACK BABY!!!! WHOOOOO HOOOOO Ok, we needed to get that out of our system. This is some prime time, grade A, Power to the Packing good time. The kids are on their way (finally) to talk to the horse heads about what is happening to their family. And you better believe it is all going to hit the fan! We have Kymelians, Snarks, Smartships, and freaky eye balls...and...oh my word....do we have a human looking Alex!!! How did that happen, what is going on? Is Alex actually a lizard? Did he finally shed his horse skin for his original human form? Is this Kymelian puberty? TUNE IN TO FIND OUT! When all is said and done, we have a good book with the original creators, banging out a great retcon that fixes the problems the past creators left. This is a good thing. And well deserved. And, they did not need to blow up the story with a missile pointed at the floor. Oh...I guess they did. Well, as we always say here on UPtPoPP....There is nothing worth doing if you are not willing to overdo it. This applies to blowing things up too! Ready to Role Update: May 14, 2021 This week we wanted to take a second to give you all an update on our future plans and formatting for the show. Please forgive the headset quality audio. In brief: We're shooting for all future gameplay episodes to be roughly an hour long. We've got some one-shots and miniseries games planned before we jump into the next campaign. We hope to have some new voices at the table going forward. We'll be splitting the "Tales from the Crit" episodes into bitesize, hour-long pieces, but Holiday Specials will stay in the longer format. Our release schedule is going to change, but we want to be more consistent. To elaborate on the planned release schedule: Ongoing series episodes (oneshots, miniseries, and even campaigns) will release every week, but we will take a week off publishing episodes as we switch between different games. Other breaks will be announced on the podcast feed, but may include holiday breaks or breaks at the conclusion of a season. If you have a game you'd like to see us play, let us know. We love hearing from our listeners. Contact us: email@example.com; @readyrole; u/ReadyToRole on Reddit. If you like what we do, spread the word and leave us a review wherever you listen. Credits: Special thanks to Mindseye for the beat for the intro and outro. The original beat is "Up & Go" by Mindseye. His work can be found at the following link: https://freemusicarchive.org/music/MindsEye (The speed of the beat has been altered and rearranged. Lyrics have also been written and added for the theme, courtesy of Zack Long).

As 2020 comes to a close, we are back to celebrate the holiday season Potter-style. First (6:54), Alice and Martha compete in a Harry Potter holiday game show hosted by the Real Weird Husband/Brother-in-Law, Paul Asleson (@paulasleson). Up second is Molly Weasley's Cookie Exchange, where Alice and Martha are joined by returning guest Haley Strong (@hstrong_) to rank popular Christmas cookies and predict which characters would be most likely to bring which cookie to the party (51:53). And finally, it just wouldn't be a Real Weird Holiday Special without an appearance from the official Real Weird Acquaintance of the show, so Alice and Martha are joined by Shut Up Tim (@ShutUpTim) to sort the characters (not the cast) of Love Actually (1:52:18). Special thanks and credit to the listeners who submitted musical numbers. In Part 2, Santa Claus continues checking his list twice and deciding which 80s movie characters are naughty or nice. Part 1 has shown us that Santa is an unforgiving judicial monster who won't let you slide. So as we go into Part 2 remember someone has to make these difficult decisions. I'm Mo "Kris Kringle" Shapiro and with me as always the Rambo to my Trautman, Max "Patch" Sanders. And with that let's pick up where we left off.
December is our favorite month of the year. Sitting on our couch curled up with a blanket, watching John McClane say yippee ki yay and waiting for Ralphie to get his Red Ryder BB Gun. In Part 1, we are going to play the role of Santa and explore all of our favorite 80s Christmas films and make a definitive list of who really was naughty or nice. I'm Ho Ho Ho Mo Shapiro and joining me as always the Rusty to my Clark, Max Merry Christmas Sanders. And with that lets check our list twice.
In the days following the fall of the First Citadel, humanity's last survivors looked to their Saints for guidance through drought, exhaustion, and famine.
