Your non-typical baseball podcast. Another baseball fun fact to start the show. I then discuss a few highlights from this week of Braves baseball. I then read some of the bad social media post, from baseball social media. I have a new funny name of a former baseball player and briefly discuss the former player. A quick story about 1989 Bo Jackson. I bring back the Around The Horn segment and discuss 4 unique baseball questions. Twitter-@High_And_Inside

We're back and it's episode 45, which marks a big change as NG Meets... becomes NOTTS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. That's right we mark our first episode of 2021 with a change of name - plus episodes will now drop on a Thursday. In this new episode were talking to David Phillips headteacher at Chilwell School, in Nottinghamshire. David joined us to talk about the past year and the impact it has had on schooling, how the school has had to adapt, some of the unexpected new skills he and the rest of the staff have had to learn and what differences might come from this pandemic. The school community has done wonders this past year in a bit to try and ensure children's lives were disrupted as little as possible, with online learning, Google classrooms and the like becoming buzzwords of the year - and teachers, staff an all those involved deserve huge praise and credit. Check out this fantastic chat with somebody in the eyes of the school lockdown storm and please be sure to thank the teachers and staff who have worked so hard through this time and often been unfairly maligned in the press. I also give a shout out to The Hermosa Mutual Aid an organization that is helping families get food and household supplies during the coronavirus pandemic and beyond. Let's look at and discuss these two thoughts with indifference. Idea #1 GDP is the important thing, you've got to produce, monetize, and GDP growth is king. Or Idea #2 meditating on deep, contemplative, metaphysical questions, god etc is the most important thing.Show notes:…and looking without judgement. One is not better than the other, it's when I judge as one better than the other is when the conflict arrises. Idea one, our value as a human is to produce widgets, produce things that add to gross domestic product (GDP). And we value everything in relation to that. Your value as a country is “is your GDP growing constantly and sufficiently”. US v China and if we fall behind we are inferior. Some people thrive w/in that. (Assuming it takes everything to make the world go round). Fact 1 it takes everything to make the world go round. Idea #1 GDP is the important thing, you've got to produce, monetize, and GDP growth is king!” Idea #2 meditating on deep contemplative metaphysical questions is the most important thing. (as a young lad I had deep thoughts about infinity, god, creation, where was the beginning, where was the end? and it used to cause me turmoil.) Illusion that everyone has those thoughts and SHOULD have those thoughts. It went book, mind, paper, I'm talking to you. Meditating on these deep thoughts, Guilt, Is guilt good or bad? Judgment, is Judgment good or bad?. The accurate representation of how our solar system moves through space. Where do I want to place my faith ego or god/source/what have you? The box you are trying to fit in no longer serves you. Get aligned with center and play in the appropriate box. And where do those circles intersect? When I was young, my mother told me and then told me again to look at her when she was talking to me. One time I responded by saying, “I'm blind so what makes the difference?” Her response? “Yes, you are blind, but that's never an excuse for being rood or lazy.” I suspect that you get my point. For my mom, not being able to see was never an excuse for not doing what I was able to do. Even if I couldn't see her, I definitely could turn my head in her direction when she was talking and at least act like I was paying attention. I could look up and in her direction. That was at least the place to start. Success required feedback though. The problem was learning not to look too high or too low, too far left or right. I needed to focus on her voice and where it was coming from. The technique I developed is to focus a little below where I think the voice is located. It helps to shift my head and shoulders, so my shoulders are squared with the person talking. The best way to get this right is to ask someone who you are around a lot and you are comfortable with to coach you when you are seeming not to be paying attention or are just getting lazy. Let them know that too much coaching gets irritating and not to coach when others can observe what's happening. With practice, all of us who can't see can get better at looking at people when they are talking to us. As the skill improves, we can learn to look at anyone who is talking whether he or she is talking to us or to someone else. (Although I don't know how it works for others who can't see, I tend to look too far up and slightly to the right when someone is talking to me.) The second part of what I think of as social engagement is speaking up. Perhaps we can think about that next time. For now, it's enough to look at me when I'm talking to you.

I May Not Know What I'm Talking About But I'm Gonna Say It Anyway by Tara Ratney “I May Not Know What I’m Talking About But I’m Gonna Say it Anyway” is a book of opinions nothing more, nothing less. Mostly about relationships, the text delves into man/woman issues where from time to time a suggestion or two is thrown in along the way, that I think could help; but again maybe not that’s why the title of the books is what it is. Now of course the real question here is, who is Tara Ratney, with my response being (outside of a working class single parent from the Midwest ) someone, who, like most, have gone through a few things (as I too myself have made some mistakes along the way); where now because of experience (remember when you learn from it, it can become a great teacher) I feel comfortable enough to put pen to paper and write down thoughts and ideals that I hope might give those who choose to read this drama of words some definite insight on things that have taken (or will take) place in their lives with them deciding (if necessary) to make the appropriated changes, talking to those who really do have answers (something explaining the reasoning behind why readers notes were included) instead of continuing on a path of foolishness they’ve been blindly walking through life on; because after all life is truly what we make it and with there so much out there great about it why settle for less. About Tara Screenwriter - Various Author - Self Help Designer - S4U/AG4U Keepsakes Writing for over 16 years, the primary purpose for all that I do is to enlighten and inspire. A Midwest girl and mother of one, my background is in business data management with me currently working for telecommunications company. Future plans are to create opportunities for those who desire to move forward with their lives in a positive and productive way, through the arts. https://www.amazon.com/Know-Talking-About-Gonna-Anyway/dp/1456801767 https://www.tratney.com/ http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/tarratney.mp3

Jonathan May jumps on the show to discuss the VP debates and everything that is going on around the campaigns leading into this last few weeks of the Elections. First up the guys discuss the VP Debate with Kamala Harris and VP Mike Pence. It seems pretty one sided as the gentleman touch on the ease of Kamala to tell the sitting VP "Sir I am speaking, I'm Talking Sir"...and things of that nature. Mark and Jonathan break those things down. Next up, People are worried that regardless of the outcome of the election, things will get more violent. Should it be this way, we are not sure. This leads to Mark discussing how the President is currently in power but spends too much time complaining about the current status of the country...should he fix it or not....the guys discuss. Finally, Jonathan has come on the show before and claimed Werewolves are real and this leads Mark to ask about things like Bloody Mary in the dark mirror and other things of the supernatural. Being Halloween things are getting spooky and Mark wants to know how deep Jonathan gets on these beliefs. Fun episode to listen to!

www.GoodMorningGwinnett.com Man yesterday was a busy one for me and for so many others, because there were election runoffs. There were some major upsets here in Gwinnett County. Now I understand why candidates say they hate runoffs. Nicole Love Hendrickson is running for the Gwinnett County Chairwoman position. If she wins she will be the first Black person to ever hold that position. Keybo Taylor Defeated Curtis Clemons for the Sheriff seat. Jasper Watkins will be running against Ben Archer for Gwinnett Commissioner for District 3. Nikki Merritt will be running against Sen. PK Martin for the Senate District9 seat. Deborah Fluker defeated Judge Kathryn Schrader for the Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge seat. Last but not least Tiffany Porter will run against Richard Steel in November for the Tax Commissioner seat. Other big news was that presidential candidate Joe Biden picked Kamala Harris as his running mate. Many people were so happy, and some were brought to tears. Some on the other hand felt like that was a bad decision. I will be following the election very close to bring you updates.#GwinnettCountyLive Daily News, #Podcast, #Local News
