For our celebration of the Feast of St. Michael, Bishop Stewart reflects on the significance of the sacrament of Confirmation as he preaches from the book of Ephesians.
Ephesians 4:15-16 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Through the lens of Psalm 4, Bishop Stewart outlines how followers of Jesus can face and overcome crises in our lives.

Bishop Stewart Minnieweather joins us on the podcast to discuss his many decades of ministry in North Portland. We have a lengthy conversation about the hardships and joys of ministry, especially when we’re only given a few people to pastor.
Bishop Stewart outlines what confirmation is, and how the movement from the instruction to be filled with the Holy Spirit is dependent on us daily walking out our faith. Date: 5/6/2018 Scriptures: Acts 10:44-48 Psalm 98 Ephesians 4:1-3, 5:15-18 John 20:19-23
On the night he was betrayed, Jesus taught us what it means to serve. This Maundy Thursday we worshipped with our sending church and cathedral, Church of the Resurrection, and Bishop Stewart preached on Jesus' ministry as the servant of all. Scripture: Exodus 12:1-14 Psalm 78:14-20, 23-25 1 Corinthians 11:23-32
Scripture: Acts 2:41-47 Key Idea: The church is fully Scriptural, fully Sacramental, full of the Holy Spirit, free to sacrifice, and sees the fruit of salvation. The church is a she, not an it; and we can devote ourselves to her. Conversation: Which ‘S’ are you more comfortable with? Which ‘S’ do you think the Lord is inviting you to grow in? How can you practice that? Practices: Unity If there is something holding you back from loving the church, could you talk with the Lord or someone you trust about that? If there is an unreconciled relationship between you and another believer or church? What could you do to begin a process of freely sharing in unity? From last week: practice sharing your story with someone in your group or with your whole group. How would you share your story with someone who doesn’t know the Lord? In Acts 2:42-47, Luke paints a vidid portrait of the life of the church. Bishop Stewart describes 5 marks of that life: Fully Scriptural, Fully Sacramental, Full of the Spirit, Freely Sharing, and the Fullness of Salvation.
Bishop Stewart Ruch shares a passionate word from Acts 2 on the five marks of the historic Church. With the coming of the Holy Spirit, the early Christians devoted themselves to five distinctives of the Kingdom of God. May the Lord continue to renew our hearts in like manner. Our Bishop calls us to be fully 1) Scriptural; 2) Sacramental; 3) Spirit anointed; 4) Salvific; and, 5) Sharing with the needy. The message concludes with the sacrament of Confirmation. Bishop Stewart lays his hands in prayer on three members of St. Aidan's.
Bishop Stewart speaks to the clergy of the Anglican Diocese of the Upper Midwest on their annual Lenten Retreat. On the Feast of Gregory the Great, Bishop Stewart shares insights and gleanings from Gregory, a companion dear to his own spiritual development.
Bishop Stewart contends that the word 'revival' is among the stereotyped Christian buzz words in need of reviving! A biblical vision and way of life is encouraged towards authentic revival for the Anglican Church in America, a revival of Word and Sacrament. At the same time, the vision is inclusive of global revival throughout all of God's one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. This message was delivered to the clergy of the Anglican Diocese of the Upper Midwest where Bishop Stewart presides.
