Calid B is an emcee/producer/songwriter/DJ who ushered in a new sound called AfroBang. Calid entered the music scene as manager and producer. But in 2016, Calid was eager to give the world a unique sound inspired by his African lineage and his experiences as a black man in the United States. He released “AfroBang” in July 2016, that hit such as “Gold” and “Parasites.” On August 2, 2018, he followed up with his second album, “Son of Sologon” that expands the AfroBang sound with songs like “Free the Watoto” and “Mansa Musa.” Radio One Chicago airs live every Thursday from 6p to 8p cst on 88.7f/WLUW-FM
