Today's Song of the Day is “Invisible Ink” from King Tuff's album MOO, out now.King Tuff will be performing at Turf Club on Tuesday, May 12.
Episode Summary: Five years ago, billionaire investor Jim Mellon came on Business For Good and laid out his thesis that cultivated meat and precision fermentation would transform the food system. Since then, venture capital has fled the space, plant-based stocks have cratered, and many startups have gone under. So why is Jim putting even more money in? In this episode, Paul Shapiro reconnects with Jim Mellon, Author of Moo's Law and Chairman of Agronomics, to find out what has changed and what hasn't. Jim reveals that his portfolio company, Clean Food Group, is producing precision fermentation-based palm oil, olive oil, and cocoa butter at a factory near Liverpool that is already sold out to buyers, including Mondelēz. He shares how media costs for cultivated meat have dropped from nearly $1,000 per liter to under three cents, and why he expects the company to go public later this year in what could be the first IPO of a precision fermentation company. The conversation also covers why the Middle East may become the next major hub for alternative protein infrastructure, how robotics could improve agricultural yields and reduce food waste, and what Jim plans to change in the updated edition of Moo's Law. He also explains why, despite personal wealth, no single investor can fund the scale of infrastructure this industry requires. Things You Will Learn: How precision fermentation-based oils are already reaching price parity with conventional palm oil, olive oil, and cocoa butter. Why cultivated meat media costs have dropped from roughly $1,000 per liter to under three cents in just a few years. Why the Middle East could become the next major hub for alternative protein manufacturing. What Jim Mellon plans to change in the updated edition of Moo's Law. How robotics and AI could reduce crop waste and improve agricultural yields globally. Tools & Frameworks Covered: Moo's Law: The idea that the cost of producing cultivated animal products will decline on a curve similar to Moore's Law in computing, driven by advances in media formulation, facility design, and scale. Precision Fermentation for Commodity Oils: Using microbial fermentation to produce bio-identical palm oil, cocoa butter, and olive oil at competitive prices with greater supply consistency and without deforestation. Infrastructure-First Scaling: Building dedicated production facilities and securing offtake agreements before going to market, reducing capital carry costs, and proving commercial viability to attract institutional investment. #BusinessForGood #FutureOfFood #AlternativeProtein #SustainableBusiness

Trump didn't fire Pam Bondi for what we think, he fired her for what he couldn't tolerate, and it might not be over as more cabinet firings could be on the horizon. One of Pam Bondi's fumble was the Don Lemon case as he's roaming free and talking smack, like he did as a special guest on the View. The Artemis II crew that is on their way to circle the moon includes an African American man whom the liberal media wants to highlight, sometimes incorrectly, because of the color of his skin, we hear from him in his own words on what he thinks about that. Plus, King Charles in the UK goes full Moo-slim, another huge hoax discovered, this time in California, the first partner of California also has another lecture on how to raise kids, clowns of the week, and we wrap it all up with our weekly Prayer to our Heavenly Father on this special Holy weekend.
Dave cooks a protein-focused dish for a "master of meat": actor, comedian, & host Joel McHale...but Dave doesn't cook red meat like Joel may be used to. After having some of Dave's delicious Wu's Garden-inspired braised tofu, Joel hops (literally) into the kitchen to make a gorgeous Miyazaki A5 wagyu steak. Amongst the cooking, Dave and Joel debate how often you should eat meat, talk about getting older and their health, and reveal why some people call Joel's home "Crazy House" (Hint: Joel likes knives. "I'm a jacket man," King Tuff (aka Kyle Thomas) told me as we discussed why feeling good is important to the songwriting process. I had mentioned a writer who told me that he must wear a winter coat when he writes--even during the Washington, DC summers where he lives. This is not a complicated idea: if we're in a good headspace, we're more likely to be productive and write good songs. "I want to feel like I'm sparkling and then want the songs to feel like treasure, like candy," Thomas says. But touch is not the only sense that puts King Tuff in creative mode. Like most of us, the primitive sense of smell does it for him. "I love the smell of hose water on cement and of wood smoke in the frozen air," he says.King Tuff's latest album is Moo.
On this week's Talkhouse Podcast, we've got a songwriter with a long and varied history who's somehow just now making her solo debut alongside the musician and producer who helped her make it: it's Morgan Nagler and King Tuff. You could be excused for not knowing Morgan Nagler's name; she's been on the fringes of the L.A. music scene for the past couple of decades, co-writing songs with Phoebe Bridgers (the remarkable “Kyoto”) and HAIM, among others—as well as fronting the band Whispertown. She's also had another career on-screen, from Punky Brewster to American Pie 2, but that's not relevant for today's conversation. Just this month, Nagler released the first album under her own name, and it carries the all-time great title I've Got Nothing to Lose and I'm Losing It. If you love melodic, heartfelt pop with a bit of that Laurel Canyon twang, you will find something to love on this record. Check out the song “Hurt” right here, which features a cavalcade of talented backing singers, too. Kyle Thomas has been making music under the name King Tuff for the past 20 years or so, cranking out rollicking, straightforward rockers that fit perfectly with his moniker. For his new record Moo, Thomas went back to basics after spending what he felt like was too much time cleaning things up. The result is a garage-y, thoroughly catchy set of songs that never try to overcomplicate the desire to rock. Think GBV or Ty Segall or Mikal Cronin. Check out the song “Invisible Ink” from his new album Moo right here. It's out this week. In this fun chat, Nagler and Thomas talk about the fun of writing lyrics together, Thomas' move back to the snowy woods of Vermont, and what they plan to eat on their upcoming tour together. There's also white weasels and Cadbury creme eggs, so pay close attention and enjoy. Thanks for listening to the Talkhouse Podcast, and thanks to Morgan Nagler and Kyle Thomas aka. King Tuff for chatting. If you liked what you heard, please follow Talkhouse on your favorite podcasting platform and check out all the great stuff at Talkhouse.com. How can we see an invisible God? It's not just a question from young hearts but one we may wrestle with ourselves. Though we cannot see God, we can see evidence of Him and His love for us and evidence of the truth of His Word all around us. God îș teaching us through His creation, we just forget to look for Him. A study of 400+ brands found that growing brands increased penetration by 135%, compared to just 26% growth from purchase frequency. So where should marketers invest first? This episode, Elena, Angela, and Rob introduce the MOO, a seven-step Marketing Order of Operations that gives marketers a clear priority sequence for building effectiveness, from defining the competitive playing field to communicating results internally. Today's funny podcast kicks off with important cultural education: what exactly is a punchki (and why does it sound like something you shouldn't Google at work)? It's International Pancake Day, it's March 4th (the only holiday that's also a command), and somehow that spirals into Cardinals ticket math, dynamic pricing debates, and the realization that yes — $29 for unlimited ballpark hot dogs will absolutely test your personal integrity. Then we unleash one of the most chaotic listener games in show history: Two Truths and a Lie. Disturbed superfans who've never seen Disturbed. Woof Wednesday regulars who may or may not be hoarding dogs. A dude slimed on Nickelodeon who also traveled the country playing competitive dodgeball. We don't just guess — we overanalyze like it's a true crime doc.Meanwhile, Rafe returns from Trailer Trash Tammy's Pontoon 2 cruise with tales of:A completely full cruise jail.A man under house arrest at sea.Moo-moo themed fights. And a potential invitation to be indoctrinated into the Blackfoot tribe (yes, really).Somehow in the middle of all this, we also break down HBO's “DTF St. Louis,” debate whether St. Louis suburbs really look like Atlanta, and question why every fictional TV station west of the Mississippi still starts with a “W.” We're looking at you, Hollywood. There's celebrity chaos (Christina Applegate ditching Brad Pitt for Sebastian Bach), Twisted Sister news, casino roulette stories, and enough side quests to make your GPS give up entirely. If you're here for a funny podcast that blends daily comedy, pop culture commentary, weird news, St. Louis pride, and just enough chaos to make you question your life choices — congratulations. You found your people. This funny podcast is part morning show, part group therapy, and part “who let these guys have microphones?”And yes… we absolutely try to generate Rafe's Native American name on-air using a questionable internet quiz. How Can Christians Turn Groans into Growth By Responding to Ecological Grief? In this episode of the Good Faith Podcast, host Curtis Chang talks with Dr. Jonathan Moo, a decorated professor of both the New Testament and Environmental Studies, about why Christian creation care belongs at the center of discipleship. Drawing from Romans 8, Colossians 1, and Genesis 1–2, Moo connects biblical hope for new creation with practical action on climate change, stewardship, and loving our neighbors by caring for the places they depend on and enjoy. The conversation explores how faith and science can work together, why "dominion" looks like Christ-shaped service, and how small, local projects—from Uganda to Texas—offer tangible models of environmental renewal. Dr. Moo offers us a bigger vision of human flourishing, plus concrete next steps for Christians and churches to live joyfully and faithfully in God's world. 05:04 - How Do Jonathan Moo's Academic and Faith and Love for Creation Intersect? 07:51 - Romans 8 and Lament for Creation 17:38 - Salvation, Resurrection, and the Earth 22:08 - Practical Examples of Creation Care 27:01 - Motivating People To Move From Enjoying Nature To Actively Caring For It 31:24 - How Do We Address Interpretations of "Dominion"? 36:32 - Jesus as Model for Dominion 39:34 - Understanding Barriers Between Evangelicals and Science 47:16 - Engaging with Skeptics and Loved Ones 53:25 - Advice for Skeptics 55:11 - Practical Steps for the Environmentally Concerned Episode Companion: Christians and Climate Change Guide 2 Sign up for the Good Faith Newsletter Learn more about George Fox Talks Mentioned In This Episode: Tools, Websites, and Organizations A Rocha USA Bull Creek Restoration Project Climate Stewards USA Books and Authors Learn more about Aldo Leopold Learn more about Alister McGrath Learn more about Evelyn Waugh Learn more about Wendell Berry Debra Rienstra's Refugia Faith: Seeking Hidden Shelters, Ordinary Wonders, and the Healing of the Earth Biblical Passages Colossians 1:15-20 (ESV) Romans 8 (ESV) Genesis 1 and 2 (ESV) Mark 12:30-31 (ESV) Concepts and Ideas Carbon Calculator (use for offsets) Bio Sand Filters No Till Agriculture Mulching and Crop Rotation More From Dr. Jonathan Moo: Jonathan & Douglas Moo's Creation Care: A Biblical Theology of the Natural World (Biblical Theology for Life) More about Dr. Moo: Whitworth professor acts as a wilderness guide A reminder of Dr. Moo's A.W.A.K.E. acronym Follow Us: Good Faith on Instagram Good Faith on X (formerly Twitter) Good Faith on Facebook The Good Faith Podcast is a production of a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan organization that does not engage in any political campaign activity to support or oppose any candidate for public office. Kevin Del Aguila has one of those careers that feels impossible on paper but makes perfect sense once you hear him talk about it. He shares how acting and writing grew side by side almost accidentally, from staging one-acts with unemployed friends to becoming the secret ingredient that finally unlocked Altar Boyz. Kevin opens up about years of temp jobs, the anxiety of switching to a full-time artistic life, and the surprising moment he quietly “quit acting” without telling anyone—only to find himself pulled back in through Peter and the Starcatcher, where collaborating with Christian Borle reignited his love for performing. His stories from backstage, especially the legendary “silent aria” of laughter waves, remind you why the magic of theater is so addictive. We also explore the second creative empire Kevin has built in children's entertainment, from Wonder Pets to his Emmy-winning work on Peg + Cat, to writing the lyrics for Click, Clack, Moo and the wildly popular Dog Man: The Musical. He breaks down why kids instantly know when something has been sanitized, how a little edge goes a long way, and why he's drawn to writing that treats young audiences with intelligence and respect. Kevin also reflects on his full-circle return to The Baker's Wife more than twenty years after first performing it, now taking on Antoine in the highly anticipated Classic Stage Company revival. The episode is full of craft, heart, humor, and the reminder that longevity—not overnight success—is the real engine of a creative life. Kevin Del Aguila is an Emmy Award–winning writer and Tony-nominated actor whose career spans theater, television, and children's entertainment. He wrote the book for the long-running hit Altar Boyz and the lyrics for Click, Clack, Moo and Dog Man: The Musical. His Broadway and stage performances include Some Like It Hot, Frozen, and Peter and the Starcatcher. His television writing earned him an Emmy for Peg + Cat, and he appears in the newest season of Hazbin Hotel. Kevin currently stars as Antoine in the Broadway revival of The Baker's Wife. In this podcast episode, host Michelle Frechette chats with developer Mark Westguard about the new Image Roulette plugin, which randomizes images on WordPress sites while keeping alt text and captions for accessibility. The plugin was inspired by Michelle's need to display randomized Speed Networking conversation cards. They demonstrate how it works, discuss potential eCommerce uses, and share experiences using AI tools like Claude to speed up development. The episode also highlights collaboration, creativity, and fun within the WordPress community.Top Takeaways:Image Roulette Plugin: Michelle's accessibility challenge inspired Mark to create a plugin that randomizes images while preserving alt text and captions. Within hours, he developed a fully functional prototype that later became a public WordPress plugin.Accessibility at the Core: The plugin automatically uses each image's existing media library fields (alt text, title, caption), ensuring accessibility is built-in rather than an afterthought — aligning with WordPress's broader emphasis on inclusive design.Simplicity and Versatility: Image Roulette works via both a Gutenberg block and a shortcode, making it compatible with different site builders. It's ideal not only for random prompts but also for creative and commercial applications, such as eCommerce product showcases.Mentioned In The Show:MooImage RouletteInsta WPClaudeCursorAngieWP World

Episode 2.50Who Said It? The Quotation Debate in James 2:18–19What if a single pair of quotation marks changed how you understand faith and works? In this episode of Take 2 Theology, Zach and Michael unpack one of the most overlooked translation debates in the New Testament—who's actually speaking in James 2:18–19?Since the original Greek had no quotation marks, translators must decide how long the “someone will say” quotation runs. Does it end quickly (like in the ESV)? Continue through verse 19 (NASB)? Or include both verses (NIV, NRSV)? Each choice changes how we hear James's tone—rebuke, debate, or diatribe.Covered in this episode:– How Greek manuscripts handled quotations and voices– The short, medium, and long quotation theories– Why modern Bibles make different punctuation choices– What leading commentators (Moo, Davids, Blomberg) argue– How punctuation affects tone but not theologyIn the end, James's message stands: “Faith without works is dead.”But understanding how he said it might change how we hear him.Find our videocast here: https://youtu.be/O_swkautrVsMerch here: https://take-2-podcast.printify.me/Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/reakt-music/deep-stoneLicense code: 2QZOZ2YHZ5UTE7C8Find more Take 2 Theology content at http://www.take2theology.com
