In this episode of Behind the Prop, hosts Bobby Doss and Wally Mulhern welcome Mark Patey — entrepreneur, aviator, and co-founder of Best Tugs and Best Aviation Products — for a powerful conversation on aviation innovation, safety, and personal growth. With over 12,000 flight hours and nearly three decades of flying experience, Mark shares how his passion for engineering and aviation led to building products that offer twice the value for only 10–20% more cost, creating a winning formula for pilots who prioritize both performance and safety. His companies now have 47 new aviation products under development, each designed to make flying more efficient, safer, and more enjoyable.Beyond business, Mark opens up about his transformation from the thrill-seeking days of the “Flying Cowboys” to becoming a safety advocate focused on humility and honesty. He reflects on how earlier flying videos showcasing aggressive backcountry flying unintentionally encouraged risk-taking, and how experience — along with age and perspective — taught him the true meaning of responsible flying. Mark emphasizes that proficiency and preparation make the difference between danger and mastery, comparing backcountry flying to instrument flying: both can be safe or deadly, depending on skill and mindset. The discussion also explores the growing issue of negativity in online aviation communities, where misinformation and quick judgments often drown out real learning opportunities. Mark and the hosts discuss the need for empathy, understanding, and constructive dialogue among pilots. In response to the fear and stigma surrounding mistakes, Mark introduces his vision for a “Pilot Confessional” podcast, where aviators can anonymously share near-miss experiences and lessons learned — helping others avoid similar situations without fear of backlash or violation. In a heartfelt conclusion, Mark reveals how a near-death medical experience reshaped his outlook on life and aviation. No longer chasing records or recognition, he now prioritizes peace, longevity, and family. His message to the aviation community is clear: be honest about your skills, stay humble, and fly for the love of life — not the thrill of risk.

ORIGNIAL AIR DATE: FEB 2, 2019Brent Raynes decided to begin researching and investigating the UFO phenomenon back around January 1967, at age 14, soon after reading Flying Saucers: Serious Business by the late Indiana broadcaster and author Frank Edwards. Initially Brent's focus in the UFO field was devoted to gathering evidence that seemed to support the popular mainstream "nuts and bolts" theory of extraterrestrial visitation to our planet. However, after a couple of years of reading and researching various magazine articles and books on the UFO matter, Brent began to give serious consideration to the alternative ideas, theories and evidence that was being presented by researcher-authors like John A. Keel, Dr. Jacques Vallee, and Brad Steiger. Over the years, Brent has been particularly interested in the UFO close encounter and contact experiencer and the various and perplexing paranormal components that all too often are very evident in these cases. Frequently after such an encounter, the witness may have a series of paranormal experiences, be it poltergeist type activity, a ghost or ball of light, precognition, an out-of-body episode, or some other psychic manifestation. Often these experiencers describe apparent "alien" and "ghost" experiences going back to childhood. Brent feels that the UFO contactee, abductee, shaman, religious visionary, medium, or NDEs aall share a remarkably similar psychic profile. He suggests that we need to take a deep, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary look at these matters, looking not just up at outer space for our answers but also explore the vast dimensions of inner space as well.

In this week's episode, Lo is joined by actress, singer, producer and Dallas Texas native Hayley Orrantia. They take the Lo Lifers deep into their Texas takeover — from Dallas culture shocks to full-blown southern awakenings. Lo enjoyed his first-ever cattle walk, discovered the chaotic glory of Buc-ee's, and had a spiritual experience with Whataburger (jury's still out). The duo breaks down the unhinged magic of garters and mums, the Texan traditions that left Lo questioning every California school dance he ever attended. They spill on the restaurants that were overhyped, the spots that earned the official Lo Life Stamp of Approval, and Lo's favorite neighborhood in Dallas that low-key feels like its own world.Hayley also dishes on performing at a massive LGBTQ+ gala — yes, 2,000 gays turning up in the middle of conservative Texas — complete with a charity auction, drag-level energy, and enough sequins to blind a longhorn. Then it's time for their new game “Texas or NAH?”, where Lo tests Hayley's Lone Star patriotism and exposes just how seriously Texans take… being Texan. It's an easy, hilarious, comfort-listen with tons of culture, chaos, and cowboy energy. A perfect escape episode.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Today on Just Wondering, Norm wakes up and chooses violence — politely — by asking Cowboy fans a simple, soul-shaking question: Do you realize how catastrophically important tonight's game is?Win, and hope survives. Lose, and we're talking mock drafts, emotional support queso, and whether tanking is a strategy or a coping mechanism.Norm also wonders how in the name of burnt orange pride we've arrived at mid-November with three Texas teams staring at the college football playoffs… and Texas isn't one of them. Yes, the Longhorn fans may need emotional support brisket, because the math ain't mathing, and penalties, missed throws, dropped passes and shattered expectations are starting to feel like a seasonal allergy. But hey — hope springs eternal. Scott Hulme grew up wanting to be a cowboy. A lot of us know that it takes lots of hustle to make it in that lifestyle and that's exactly what Scott does, hustle. Scott trains horses, cutters mostly, ranches, and also builds and sells some tack. He's working on building a ranch for his family, which a lot of people would say you can't do in today's age, but Scott is and he tells us how he's doing through relationships, hard work, and also trading up into a ranch.Review Wizard:https://www.reviewwizard.io/io-demo486587?am_id=crockett9437Sponsorship:https://form.jotform.com/251243256767057Diversified Payments:https://www.diversifiedpayments.com/wealthycowboyThe Wealthy Cowboy Mastermind:https://www.skool.com/the-wealthy-cowboy-mastermind-1608/about

What this delightful episode of SVU lacks in terms of coherent three-act structure or thoughtful character development is more than made up for by the absolute cavalcade of bonkers plot lines and instantly recognizable famous people. Ann-Margret justifiably won an Emmy for her turn as the perma-drunk Rita Wills. William Goddamn Atherton plays a petulant serial killer! Morgan Fairchild gets about 30 seconds of screen time! Liv and Elliot get propositioned for a threesome! There's so much fun in this episode you're going to have to just dive in and revel in the madness.Music:Divorcio Suave - “Munchy Business”Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Diana R, Tony B, Barry W, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Amy A, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Asteria K, Suzanne B, Tim Y, John P, John W, Elia S, Rebecca B, Lily, Sarah L, Melsa A, Alyssa C, Johnathon M, Tiffany C, Brian B, Whitney C, Alex, Jannicke HS, Erin M, Florina C, Melissa H, Olivia, Holly F, Karina H, Zak B, and Karyn R - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too!
