For episode 92 it was my great pleasure to invite Cecily Walker, co-host of the Riverdale Rag podcast and one of my favourite internet people, to discuss the premiere of Black Lightning, the ongoing WTF-ery of Riverdale, and the greatness of Popeye's Chicken. I was riding a Popeye's high at the time and couldn't stop talking about the stuff.Out of the conversation, though, rose a dark suspicion, based on the proximity of Arby's to many Popeye's: what if Arby's were a degraded Mirror Universe version of Popeye's, and every time we entered an Arby's we were passing into that dark dimension, where "goatee chicken" (roast beef slurry to us) was piped endlessly onto cardboard buns? Don't their sandwiches taste kind of eldritch to you? So there's that.Enjoy! And give us whatfor on iTunes.

Circulating Ideas' host Steve Thomas generously allowed us to share the audio! We were stoked to guest-host. Guest hosts Michael Schofield and Amanda L. Goodman from LibUX chat with Cecily Walker from Vancouver Public Library. Cecily Walker is a librarian at Vancouver Public Library, where she focuses on user experience, community digital projects, digital collections, and the intersection of social justice, technology, and public librarianship. It was her frustration with the way that software was designed to meet the needs of highly technical users rather than the general public that led her to user experience, but it was her love of information, intellectual freedom, and commitment to social justice that led her back to librarianship. Cecily can be found on Twitter (@skeskali) where she frequently holds court on any number of subjects, but especially lipstick. Michael Schofield and Amanda L. Goodman host the LibUX podcast. (And be sure to listen past our own rewind for a discussion of parallels between “Hamilton” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.”) Host Shannon Sudderth with Moisés Chiullan, Cecily Walker and Orli Nativ.
We talked about thinking like a programmer, Skillcrush, Maptime, learning communities, why maybe user interfaces _should_ make you think, the gaps in our metadata, human stories, and how to break and remake the library world for the better. I couldn't have asked for a better opening guest.
"The Schuyler Sisters" - Introducing the Schuyler sisters: Angelica, Eliza… and Peggy. Aaron Burr isn’t going to get in their way. Host Shannon Sudderth with Moisés Chiullan, Cecily Walker and Orli Nativ.
