A great many tasks need to be accomplished successfully in order to secure a seat at a selective college. Luckily, they don't all need to be done at once, but proper timing makes a world of difference. Amy and Mike invited educator Eric Greenberg to discuss the finer points of strategizing your testing and admissions timeline. What are five things you will learn in this episode? Why is it important for students and parents to assess testing plans by the end of 10th grade? By when should students strive to earn their best SAT or ACT scores? What are the dos and don'ts regarding choosing between the SAT and ACT? How should different rounds of applications (ED1, ED2, Rolling, RD, etc.) impact the "SAT, ACT, or neither" decision? Why is it crucial for students to understand the short-term and long-term implications of application submission dates? MEET OUR GUEST Eric Greenberg is a leading educational services expert. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Business School and is a graduate of The Fieldston High School in Riverdale, New York. Scooby-Doo is officially back, and this time he is a real dog. Netflix just dropped the first teaser for its live-action origin series, Scooby-Doo: Origins, and the big reveal is an impossibly cute Great Dane puppy stepping into the role for the first time in franchise history. This episode runs through everything we know so far, starting with that puppy reveal and moving into the full Mystery Inc. lineup. The cast is stacked with Netflix talent. McKenna Grace takes on Daphne, Tanner Hagen plays Shaggy, Abby Ryder Fortson is Velma, and Maxwell Jenkins, fresh off Lost in Space, lands the role of Fred Jones. From there the breakdown covers the full premise, a final summer at camp, an orphaned puppy who may be the only witness to a supernatural murder, and a creepy mystery that threatens to expose everyone's secrets. The tone reads very Riverdale, which raises an eyebrow, but Netflix earned some goodwill with Wednesday, so there is real reason for optimism. Filming has been underway in Atlanta since April, the show arrives sometime in 2027, and yes, that means Scooby will be a big boy by the time it premieres.00:00 Scooby-Doo Returns Live Action00:15 Meet the Mystery Inc. She talks candidly about the mental health retreat that changed everything, and the power of saying no. Now Camila believes if success is getting in the way of her happiness, it isn't worth it. Question of Ethics: A Conversation of Courts and Ethics:June 2nd Court ManagerThis episode of the Question of Ethics Conversation examines a fundamental ethical challenge facing court professionals today: how are their ethical responsibilities evolving inan age of social media with an increasingly politicization? Canon Four of the Model Code focuses on conduct that is unmistakably political: attending campaign rallies, canvassing for judges running for election, or advocating for ballot initiatives within the courthouse. We now operate in a landscape where nearly every issue is viewed through a political lens. Statements that once would have been considered civic, educational, or banal are now often interpreted as partisan. Today, they can trigger assumptions of perceived bias.At its core, Canon Four rests on a critical assumption: that court professionals can maintain a private sphere in which they exercise their First Amendment rights, separate from their official role. Nearly 40 years later, that assumption is severely strained. In an era defined by social media and the always-on visibility of the digital world, personal expression is no longer private. Opinions, political or otherwise, are broadcast instantly, permanently, and often without context. Anonymity isfragile at best. Even attempts to separate identities through pseudonyms or multiple accounts are increasingly common and increasingly ineffective. This episode does not claim to offer definitive answers. Instead, it confronts the complexity of the moment and frames questions that court professionals and the professionitself, must now grapple with:        Can we, as court professionals, realistically be held accountable for navigating an ever-expanding universe of “political” issues, even down to opinions aboutcultural events or entertainment? ·              To what extent can we express our personal views without creating a perception of bias that undermines public trust? ·                                       How do we reconcile widely differing ethical standards across jurisdictions, roles, and court systems?   What emerges is not just an ethics question, but a question of professional survival and institutional trust. One possible path forward is not to attempt an ever-expanding list of prohibitions, but to shift toward practical, principle-based guidance. This could include developing best practices, strengthening commentary within the Code, and emphasizing leadership judgment, mentorship, and open dialogue. Above all, the goal remains constant: to ensure that court professionals, regardless of personal beliefs, are perceived as fair, impartial, and worthy of the public's trust. In a world where neutrality is harder to demonstrate, that responsibility has never been more important. On the CallToday:Creadell Webb, Chief Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Officer for the 1st Judicial District Court in Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaKarl Thoennes, Court Administrator, 2nd Judicial Circuit Court in Sioux Falls, South DakotaTeshrie Kalisharan, Alternative Dispute Resolution  Coordinator for the 9th Judicial Circuit Court in Orlando, Florida Norman Meyer, Retired Clerk of Court for the Bankruptcy Court for the District of New MexicoRoger Rand, IT Manager for the Multnomah County Court in Portland, OregonNathaniel Mingo, Director of Court Services for the Municipal Court in Riverdale, GeorgiaKelly Hutton, Deputy State Court Administrator for the North Dakota State Court System in Bismarck, North DakotaAccess the episode by going to the NACM website podcast link: https://www.nacmnet.org/podcastsBecome part of the Conversation. Directed by celebrated underground director Jim McBride, the plot (as it is) follows Archie as he tried to get laid on New Year's Eve.Next, we have the sprawling, methodical Lake of Illusions from 1982. A Toho release about a young woman working in a history-themed bath house who loves to run and loves her dog but finds her world turned upside down when he canine companion is killed. And finally, early 2000's pop culture is on full display in Josie and the Pussycats from 2001 starring Rachel Leigh Cook, Rosario Dawson and Tara Reid as a pop-punk band who finds themselves in the middle of a capitalist conspiracy when they are inexplicably signed to a major label and marketed as the next big thing. All this plus Obsession chat, Kevin's adventures in the Motor City, 70's Brazilian cult cinema debuting stateside, Sam Raimi gets into dolls, more flicks from Indonesian horror icon Suzanna to own and so much more!LISTEN NOW:MP3 Direct DonloydAlso, if you like the show, please take a minute and subscribe and/or comment on us on iTunes, Stitcher, Blubrry or Podfeed.net. Over the past forty years, Gina Gershon has remained a beloved actress while constantly pushing herself as an artist, adding to her astonishing and diverse resumé. Since her small, breakout performance in Pretty in Pink, Gershon has been best known for her roles in movies (including Bound, Showgirls, Face/Off, The Insider) and television (including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Riverdale, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Assassin), but her career, and community, began as a musician and dancer. She performed at Carnegie Hall, recorded albums, and toured the United States, playing her jaw harp with Sting, Laurie Anderson, Joan Baez, Paul Simon, and Herbie Hancock. While she has not yet performed with her close friend Bob Dylan, they were sparring partners when Gershon took up boxing. On the stage, Gershon has worked with David Mamet, and performed in Sam Mendes's Cabaret and the Tony Award-winning Boeing-Boeing. In 2007, Gershon took on a new artistic practice, publishing the children's book Camp Creepy Time with her brother Dann. She later released her first work of nonfiction, In Search of Cleo: How I Found My Pussy and Lost My Mind, the true story of Gershon's search for her runaway cat. Gershon's newest book AlphaPussy: How I Survived the Valley and Learned to Love My Boobs, looks back at how she learned to survive and thrive in Hollywood, tracing her brilliant and unique career to find cautionary tales, turning points, and everything in between. On April 3, 2026, Gina Gershon came to the Sydney Goldstein Theater for an onstage conversation with Gina Pell, Content Chief of The What.

Twenty-five years ago, this high-energy musical adaptation of the both the comic book and TV cartoon was released to much hype....and no one showed up. :( It was a sizeable flop at the box office but has since garned a devoted cult following as a result of its sharp satire and catchy soundtrack.  It's a seemingly simple story about three young ladies from the small town of Riverdale who are just trying to break out with their band, The Pussycats.   They include Josie (Rachael Leigh Cook), Melody (Tara Reid), and Valerie (Rosario Dawson) and one day, they are just toiling to pick up their next gig when they are suddenly discovered by a shady record producer Wyatt (Alan Cumming) who seems something special in them.  They are whisked off to New York City, signed to his label run by the ruthless Fiona (Parker Posey) and overnight, they become a pop sensation now named, "Josie and the Pussycats."  However, their success comes with some unexpected consquences and they soon find themselves embroiled in a massive conspiracy involving the delivery of subliminal messages through pop music. :o Directed by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont (Can't Hardly Wait), this enduring cult hit also co-stars Gabriel Mann, Missi Pyle, and Carson Daly (!)....as you've NEVER seen him before!   Host & Editor: Geoff GershonProducer: Marlene Gershon Send us Fan MailSupport the showhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/
