In today's episode, we're joined by the powerhouse that is Edwina Findley Dickerson—an award-winning actress, author, and all-around force of nature. From her early days training at Duke Ellington, Tisch, and Yale to her breakout role on The Wire, Edwina has carved out a career grounded in purpose, vision, and faith. She shares how a seemingly side gig teaching stress management unexpectedly became a divine turning point, deepening her sense of calling far beyond the stage and screen. Now starring as the fast-talking, hilariously flawed Sheila Cannon in Shonda Rhimes' Netflix series The Residence, Edwina opens up about navigating the highs and lows of the entertainment industry while staying rooted in her spiritual path. We also get a sneak peek at her highly anticipated debut book, The World Is Waiting For You, with a foreword by Viola Davis—an inspiring, faith-filled guide to manifesting your "God Dream" and living with intention. These are the unforgettable stories that landed Edwina Findley right here. Now, following the events of DC's game-changing Absolute Power, Diana embarks on her next great adventure – the birth of her daughter, Trinity! With the Absolute Power tie-in wrapped up, how does it feel to get back to your main story arc? What does Trinity mean to you, as far as her potential legacy for Wonder Woman and DC?Should we expect The Sovereign to show up, is he inherently tied to Trinity's origin?I feel like, with the creation of Damian, DC Comics has sort of owned the aspect of child heroes, and so far you've seemed to tie Damian and Trinity quite a bit. Are they inherently important to each other? We've gotten to know Trinity via the wonderful backups with art by Belén Ortega, and notably absent are the adults. Might you be exploring where they went off to?Daniel, your art is so striking, the fight around the Washington monument is one of my favorite fights ever in comics! Extending from interiors, your covers are incredible too. How do you approach them to make them so striking, is there a starting point?Since we're talking about birth, why do you think it's important Wonder Woman was made of clay? Is there a symbolic reason?Tom, thoughts on Green Lantern casting news?
Welcome everybody as the Fried RIce Podcast's Appreciation week continues as we focus on our oldest and closest to death member of the squad: Michael Larson!Mike really took a liking to a movie we reviewed not that long ago: Crank 2006. What really grabbed Mike's attention was the main character, Chev Chelios, why? Becuase Chelios never fucking dies, and neither does Mike! A heart attack couldn't kill him 2 years ago, all of Andy's repeated attempts at murder haven't worked, he has somehow found a way to outlive us all and you should be as terrified as the rest of us here at the pod. If there is someone out there that knows how to kill what can't be killed, please help us.The movie this week is Crank: High Voltage 2009, the much nee.... the much reque..... the sequel to Crank 2006. It's more high-octane action than you can handle, and that's just the podcast! We are on Spotify/Audible/YouTube Music/Podbean and more!We are on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@FriedRicePodcastCheck out our website: www.friedricepodcast.comCall our VOICEMAIL: (702) 829-0117 and listen for this week's question!(don't worry, Andy isn't sitting in his room, waiting by his phone like it's the 90s, just fiddling with the long chord, watching "Black Lightning"...)

The rta is good and the story is better. Alan Scott's costume being a mashup of everyone else's is really cool. And wait till you see the surprise on the last page. I dig it. 8/10 DC vs. Vampires: World War V #4 - 4 issues in and this could easily be the best of the series, and they've been pretty good. And Ra's Al Ghul gets a tongue lashing from Damian that just tears him to shreds. Oh, and have I mentioned yet that Alfred Pennyworth is a Green Lantern? 8/10 Batman: Uncovered #1 – Like the rest of the series, this is full of gorgeous artwork, and it even includes that MS Paint cover from Tom King in it. Jace and Rocky talk about an absolutely incredible week of DC Comics titles for November 13, 1024. Every title is awesome and the guys had a tough time picking their Books of the Week because everything was so good! Absolute Batman picks up right where #1 left off with tons of action and a reminder to leep movign forward it the face of adversity. Over in Black Lightning we get some of the aftermath of Absolute Power and it appears the Jefferson Pierce will be helping those with newfound or changed abilities and the person who needs his helps most may be much closer than he might hope. Gotham By Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age ends on a fantastic cliffhanger. we are just sad we will have to wait until next year to pick up the next part of the story. Batman: Dark Age comes to a conclusion in a surprising way which suits this very different take on Batman perfectly, while the character dynamic between Bruce and Damian is also explored in a different way in the pages of Batman and Robin. Superman continues to fight to get back to the present while being trapped in Krypton's past, but at least he is gaining a new perspective on his parents. In World War V, it feels more than ever like the world is winding down and if the remaining members of the human race and the vampired don't stop fighting soon, there may be nothing left to fight over. Finally, epic action, tons of characters and gorgeous artwork in Green Lantern continue to build to what feels like an immensely impactful cosmic story.

The novel explores themes of identity, freedom, and the human condition, questioning whether a utopia governed by technology can truly satisfy the complexities of human desires.
