The Red Sox split the series with the Atlanta Braves who Alex Cora called the best team in the NL. We're breaking down what might've been Bello's best start to date. But first, Nick Pivetta was clearly frustrated with Mexican Times reporter Chris Cotillo's question about potentially being moved to the bullpen. We're playing the audio from the interaction and trying to understand why Pivetta would be so bothered by what seems like a pretty logical move. Tyler brings up his history of pouting in Philly when he was moved to the bullpen. We're also celebrating Tyler's 40th birthday! Wow, 40 years really flies by! Enjoy and we'll see you after the Cardinals series!

Some very somber news from the Braves today as Max Fried was placed on the IL for a forearm strain and the NL's frontrunner is now scrambling to figure out how to fill 2 holes in the rotation. The bright side is the offense now gets Travid d'Arnaud back, which should be a nice addition, but there's no sugar coating it: Today is not a great daySee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Tampa Bay Rays took three out of four games against the Chicago White Sox. However, their Sunday loss felt a bit heavier as the bullpen allowed 7 runs in the 9th inning blowing a comeback victory their offense had built. Jalen Beeks was not able to put hitters away with 2 strikes and Garrett Cleavinger could not put out the fire. Nevertheless, this Rays team is at a historic start with a 23-6 record and will now meet the best team in the NL, the Pittsburgh Pirates. Learn more about your ad choices. Three weeks into the season is enough time to project playoff series and make all kinds of lasting judgements about teams and players, right? Even if it's not David Brown joins Andy to help do it. They talk about the team with the biggest run differential in the NL (the Cubs), the worst in both leagues (the A's) and others who are off to good and bad starts. They talk about Cardinals fans already turning on Willson Contreras, David Ross giving out charity replay challenges, misapplication of the pitch clock rules awkward in-game interviews and how ESPN is actually paying players to do them now. They discuss Rick Sutliffe's Rosé colored glasses for mundane fundamental baseball things, rally possums, the Cubs new magic lightbulbs, even more potential new rules and much more. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/desipio/message

Locked On Giants – Daily Podcast On The San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants couldn't find a way to win a game in Detroit. Mercifully, they didn't lose three games as the finale was rained out. But the SF Giants lost two winnable games against the Tigers, who will likely end up as one of the worst teams in the American League. The Giants got some late heroics from J.D. Davis in the first game of the series, as his three-run homer tied things up in the eighth. But the Giants struggled to score in extra innings, and an extremely costly mental mistake in the bottom of the 11th by David Villar potentially cost the Giants the game. Camilo Doval was one out away from securing the win but allowed a walk-off homer on a 3-0 pitch. Then the SF Giants blew a 6-1 lead in the second game of the series. They scored two runs in each of the first three innings, but then failed to score again the rest of the way, even in extra frames when they were twice given a free runner on second to start the inning. Tony DeSclafnai was outstanding, but it was a wasted effort as Brandon Crawford booted three balls and Blake Sabol took a horrible route on a line drive. The bullpen continued to be a huge liability in the early season and the Giants left Detroit 5-9, which is the third-worst record in the NL. Full Hour | Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by asking whether listeners agree with him in his assessment that the Phillies receiving an award for winning the NL but losing the World Series is similar to participation trophies. This leads Dom and Dan into a discussion about other participation trophies, with Dom explaining why he believes both a Grammy and an Emmy is the music and television equivalent to participation awards. Then, Dom offers his thoughts on the Louisville shooting, playing back reaction from Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, which Dom dissects, telling how Shapiro has been counterintuitive to solving a public safety crisis in Pennsylvania. Also, Dom tells of the success of the new Super Mario movie, and explains frustration with changes made to Disney's The Little Mermaid. Then, Dom welcomes in Pennsylvania State Representative Donna Scheuren back onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a letter she wrote to the Perkiomen Valley School District explaining why she's in favor of having armed officers protect our State's schools. First, though, Dom reminds listeners why they may recognize Donna's name, telling of her role in keeping Souderton schools open during Coronavirus while serving in her role as a school board member, which she still holds. Then, Giordano and Rep. Scheuren delve into the topic at hand, with Donna explaining how officers in schools could indeed work, telling Dom of the way we can pay these security guards and telling of the value that these security officers would bring. Donna explains that she'd suggest that the officers considered have solid experience and background in law enforcement, suggesting retired members of the Police force from the community.
