This week on the OPPOSITION TERRITORY podcast, Jeff sat down with Ely Sussman from FishOnFirst.com at SB Nation for a great and in-depth conversation about whether the Miami Marlins can make it to the MLB postseason. Passing on adding starting pitching depth before the trade deadline might have been a mistake. A rough and challenging September schedule. Who needs to get hot in September if they want to make a real push for a wild card spot? Where can this team get that consistency that's needed? My son fully healed. Every single symptom went away. But when I look back at the first two years of his life, I barely remember them.I was so focused on finding answers, monitoring every symptom, and trying to heal his body that I missed the child right in front of me. I missed two tender years of my daughter's life. I missed two years of my marriage. I lost two years of myself. That is my biggest regret from healing my son, and I am sharing it so you can move through your or your child's healing differently. In this episode, we are talking about how easily healing can become another end goal that consumes your life. You tell yourself you will relax when the rash disappears. You will leave the house when your child feels better. You will play, travel, breathe, and enjoy motherhood once everyone is sleeping again. But your life is happening right now.You can actively support your child's body, address the deeper imbalance behind their symptoms, and remain present for the child in front of you. Their symptoms deserve your attention, but their symptoms are not who they are.I also share how rebalancing supported my own gut-brain connection, sleep, nervous system, and capacity to be present. Because healing is not only about the symptoms that disappear. It's about who you and your child become along the way. Thanks for listening! The Pirates season is all but over. Just one week following the 2026 MLB Trade Deadline when the Pirates took a stand as one of the only outside teams in the NL taking a shot, their season is on life support – and that's being generous. They are 5+ games out of a playoff spot as of today and just dropped 2 of 3 to the hapless New York Mets this weekend, who sold off most of their pitching staff in the last 2 weeks. What went wrong? Plenty can fall on Don Kelly and Ben Cherington, but should a fair amount get put at the feet of Paul Skenes, in the midst of a bad season? How is the Oscar Marin firing looking right about now? Unless a huge run begins tomorrow, we won't be talking about them as playoff contenders much longer. It will soon be 7 years without a playoff appearance. What will the repercussions be for the front office?

Plenty can fall on Don Kelly and Ben Cherington, but should a fair amount get put at the feet of Paul Skenes, in the midst of a bad season? How is the Oscar Marin firing looking right about now? Unless a huge run begins tomorrow, we won't be talking about them as playoff contenders much longer. It will soon be 7 years without a playoff appearance. What will the repercussions be for the front office? Yesterday may have been the most embarrassing loss of the 2026 season. WTOV's Jack Hillgrove joined the show. Jack has a hard time believing the Steelers will keep 4 QBs on their roster and cited other position groups that could use help ahead of the regular season, like safety and receiver. He doesn't think we will see Aaron Rodgers on Thursday despite what Mike McCarthy has said. After McCarthy announced pre-practice that Max Iheanachor would not practice today, everyone in attendance saw him doing things in a limited capacity today. Jack said an injury to Eli Heidenreich could save the job of Kaleb Johnson, but he wouldn't be surprised if the 3rd round pick from 2025 was cut by the end of camp. Does Travis Homer have a home because of his special team's prowess? Jack said McCarthy is not as transparent with injured players as Mike Tomlin was. Jack doesn't think anything from Malik Harrison has jumped off the page in camp as a player who is likely on the cut line. Jack explained why he is excited about what Patrick Graham brings to the table.
