The Nats slugged five homers on Saturday night for a 7-3 win at Dodger Stadium. Mark (From L.A.) & Al marvel at James Wood as he crushed his 21st homer of the season; which is tied for 4th most in the NL. Wood's 1st inning majestic shot went an estimated 451 feet.(06:00) All of the top four Nationals hitters cleared the fences, with Nathaniel Lowe doing it twice.  The offense totaled ten hits and eight of them were for extra bases.(12:30) Keibert Ruiz went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles. It is the first time since April 22nd that Ruiz had multiple doubles in the same game.(15:00) Washington pitchers combined for 11Ks in the victory. Jake Irvin had seven of them while not issuing any walks in his outing.(19:30) Jose A. Ferrer retired all five batters he faced and Mark points out how inconsistent he can be on the mound.(24:10) Kade Anderson, star LSU pitcher, threw a complete game shutout on Saturday night at the College World Series. Anderson is projected by some to go to the Nats with the top overall pick at next month's Draft.

The Nats finally snapped their long skid and it all came on the back of James Wood in the 4-3 win over Colorado in 11 innings. Al & Tim discuss the burgeoning superstar as the 22-year old went deep twice and knocked in all four runs.  Wood is up to 20 homers and he is tied for 5th in the NL.(14:30) Trevor Williams had a decent outing as he only allowed two runs in just over five innings of work. The bullpen stepped up by only giving up one Rockies run and Cole Henry came through with two clutch strikeouts in the top of the 6th. Jose A. Ferrer also pitched well as he had two punch outs while recording five outs.(17:15) Davey Martinez got emotional in his postgame press conference and it stemmed from a Wednesday night phone call from Keibert Ruiz.(23:20) The Nats begin their West Coast road trip at Dodger Stadium on Friday evening.  MacKenzie Gore will take the mound opposite Clayton Kershaw in the series opener.(29:00) Part 2 of Tim's conversation with Bob Kendrick, President of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, about the legendary "Cool Papa" Bell.  Hear the origin of the greatest nickname in Baseball history.

The Nats losing streak extended to nine games on Monday night as victory slipped through their fingertips in the 6-4 defeat. Mark & Al begin with Kyle Finnegan, who inherited a one run lead in the top of the 9th, but allowed a pair of Rockies homers, the only home runs he has given up this season.(09:00) Brady House went 0 for 3 with a walk in his MLB debut.  House was the #11 overall pick in the 2021 Draft and had a OPS of .872 this season thus far in AAA-Rochester. House looked comfortable defensively and Davey Martinez said pregame that House will be the everyday 3B.(14:40) Daylen Lile hit his first career MLB homer in the bottom of the 5th in his first game since returning from AAA. Lile swapped roster spots with Robert Hassell III after Sunday's defeat.(18:00) James Wood's 2-run HR in the bottom of the 5th put Washington ahead 4-3 until the fateful 9th inning. Wood is now up 18 homers on the season; which is tied for 5th most in the NL.(20:15) Riley Adams got the nod at catcher and is now 0 for his last 30 at the plate. His OPS is down to a paltry .325 and the catching situation continues to worsen for the franchise.(23:15) Jake Irvin gave up a 2-run HR in the top of the 1st and his opening frame ERA is a shocking 10.84; surprisingly more than his Mitchell Parker. Irvin ended his evening with six innings of work off of five hits.(27:15) A discussion on recent Washington Post stories covering the angst within the franchise during this brutal stretch.(36:30) A Nats Chat Flashback from July 19th, 2023 when Brady House was promoted to AA-Harrisburg after a brief stay at High-A Wilmington.

Abi's story stopped me in my tracks when she reached out and shared it with me. I had never heard someone healing quite like her son.He was covered in strange bumps, couldn't sleep, and was the pickiest eater. She spent thousands of dollars on appointments and herbs from a naturopath, hoping something would finally work. But nothing brought true healing. She eventually couldn't afford to keep working with this naturopath and that's when she found ōNLē on Instagram. She immediately said yes to the Rebalance Kit before she even finished scrolling the page, and never looked back. What happened next is something every mama deserves to witness. Her son began to eat again. Sleep through the night. The rage and overwhelm she had quietly been carrying melted away. Parasites and candida literally began exiting both of their bodies - even through his skin.Yes. That's how powerful healing can be when we let it be simple. When we stop second-guessing and start leading from trust. This weeks Follow Your Gut podcast episode is a raw, emotional look at what happens when a mama trusts her intuition and goes all in. Abi now mentors inside the Rebalancing Collective, our private support space for families walking this healing path and I couldn't imagine a more beautiful leader to guide you.You don't want to miss this beautiful conversation! Thanks for listening! But coming at ya faster than that is the latest episode with a TON of stuff to uncover in the sports world. On deck: (6:42) OKC showed what they were made of in Game 4 as SGA's big fourth quarter ties the series at two. How will Game 5 and the rest of the Finals play out starting tonight? There was a huge trade in the Association as the Magic go all in on former Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane. Is he worth two players and four unprotected first round picks? Also, the Knicks head coaching search continues and where does Kevin Durant end up? (27:17) The Florida Panthers are one win away from going back to back against the Edmonton Oilers. Not even a crushing Game 4 defeat will slow down the defending champs as they dominated Game 5 on the road. Will this series go back to Western Canada in Game 7? Or will the Panthers wrap up another championship? (40:44) The saga between the Red Sox and Rafael Devers came to an abrupt end with the disgruntled DH getting shipped to San Francisco for two pitchers and prospects. Was this a good move by Boston? Does this make the Giants contenders in the NL? Plus, it was a lost weekend for the New York teams as they were both surprisingly swept. And Shohei Ohtani will make his Dodgers pitching debut vs. San Diego. What should we expect? (57:35) After what was a US Open to forget, one player came up from the rubble to win the tournament. His name is JJ Spaun. I'll recap what turned out to be a slog and a wet one at that as the third golf major of the year is already in the books. In Hour 1 of Willard and Dibs, Grandi (filling in for Willard) and Dibs get right into how the Giants, despite recent struggles have been able to be 10 games over .500 and cement themselves in NL contention. How are you feeling Giants fans? Is this the most excited you've been since 2016? In Hour 2 of Willard & Dibs, Grandi (filling in for Willard) and Dibs continue the Giants conversation and get into whether or not the Giants are able to survive injuries to remain a contender. Also, despite the roster similarities from last season, Buster Posey has been able to change the mindset for the franchise. In Hour 3 of Willard and Dibs, Grandi and Dibs dive into the Zach Wheeler trade back in 2011 and if that is one of the biggest missteps for the franchise, Dibs defends the trade. Meanwhile Grandi makes the case that the Giants should try to be more aggressive with improving their roster and if it means getting rid of prospects, so be it. In the final hour of Willard and Dibs, Grandi and Dibs get the news that Chapman will indeed miss more games as his hand injury is worse than initially thought. Plus, they get into Trent Williams sound from OTA's and how important it will be from now until training camp kicks off for the red and gold.

On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett welcomes weekly guests, Jim Duquette of MLB Network radio and his MLB Insider Ryan Divish, who is on one day earlier than normal because John Canzano will join Puck on Wednesday. Puck opens the show saying he was relieved not to have watched the Mariners game because of how it was so depressing.  Puck was coaching his Ballard All-Stars team and they scrimmaged Eastlake LL and Puck is convinced after watching them that they have a legitimate shot at Williamsport.  Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio joins Puck to discuss the M's offensive struggles, something we thought they would be like all season.  If the Mariners can't catch the Astros this season will they ever?   Who are the sellers in baseball right now? Why doesn't Arizona just consider themselves sellers now and move on.   Jim and Puck discuss who is the best team in the AL besides the Yankees and what about the NL, which is way more stacked than the American League.  Puck and Jim react to the Denzel Clarke catch for the A's and they discuss whether or not that was the best catch in MLB history.  Jim had Justin Hollander on his show Sunday, what indication did he get how aggressive they will be at the deadline and will Harry Ford be dealt?Puck previews this weeks U.S. Open and Puck the Picker Majors pool, which is brought to you by Synthetic Turf Northwest as he playfully stalls because he can't find the Ryan Divish interview he recorded earlier in the morning.  Puck also touches in on the Pac-12 news and the eight members signing a grant of rights deal and all reports indicate that a media deal is forthcoming. Once Puck gets done stalling and finally finds the recorded interview, MLB Insider Ryan Divish joins Puck from Havre, Montana, where he currently is on a sabbatical from covering the team to coach his stepsons baseball team.  Divish turned 50 last week and Puck wonders how the week has gone for him.  The Havre Northstars are on a heater right now and it's all due to his coaching!   Puck and Divish talked at length about bunting because Divish actually used it to his advantage in a game and it's funny because Divish hates bunting!  They recap the Monday Mariners game and discuss whether or not Jorge Polanco should have bunted in the 10th, the decision for Dylan Moore not to tag in the 11th and they chat about this offense being what they thought it would be when the season started.  They chat about the Mariners inability to evaluate major league positional talent properly, Puck has an unpopular opinion on Dom Canzone and Byrce Miller lands on the IL again.  Have the Mariners handled his IL situation properly?Puck wraps up the show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?”  Texas State doesn't do it for me. Sorry. (1:00) Puck opens show on the M's and a scrimmage for his Ballard LL vs. Eastlake LL (8:00) Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio (42:12 ) MLB Insider, Ryan Divish (1:18:30) Puck on U.S. Open and Pac-12 media deal (1:20:00) “Hey, What the Puck!”

The Nats dropped Sunday's rubber match to the visiting Rangers by a score of 4-2.  Mark & Al begin with the scuffling offense, which only scored 10 runs in the six game homestand.(02:00) Help might be on the way as Nasim Nuñez was sent to AAA shortly after the defeat.  As of our taping time, the corresponding move is expected to be either Brady House or Andres Chaparro from Rochester.  House was the franchise 1st round draft choice from 2021 and did not play for the Red Wings on Sunday afternoon, which was quite noticeable given the circumstances.(14:10) Keibert Ruiz only played in one game this weekend, the one time they faced a RHP. Davey Martinez pregame cited a troubling stat in terms of the constant chase rate for the veteran catcher. Ruiz's WAR is a very poor 0.1 so far this season.(20:40) Trevor Williams only lasted 4.1 IP and gave up two runs off six hits.  This came the same day that Cade Cavalli tossed five shutout innings for AAA Rochester.  Is it time for Cavalli to take Williams' spot in the rotation?(30:00) The short outing for Williams led to the need for five relievers. Jose A. Ferrer nailed down five outs and wiggled out of a jam in the top of the 6th.  Cole Henry gave up a homer, his 2nd straight day of not pitching well.(33:10) The Nationals open a three game series on Tuesday at the Mets, who have the best record in the NL.

Tyrese Haliburton Does It AGAIN!! Diamondbacks Come To Cincinnati For Weekend Series With The Reds

Last night, the Indiana Pacers stunned the basketball world with a thrilling 111-110 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals. Tyrese Haliburton's game-winning shot capped a dramatic 15-point fourth-quarter comeback, marking Indiana's fifth such rally this postseason. Pascal Siakam led with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Obi Toppin's 17 points off the bench sparked the upset. The Pacers' relentless pace and clutch play set the tone for a competitive series, proving their underdog status is no fluke. Switching to baseball, the Cincinnati Reds face a critical weekend series against the Chicago Cubs at Great American Ball Park. The Reds, hovering around .500, are fighting to stay in the NL Central race. After a rollercoaster May, where they split series against strong teams like the Dodgers and Braves, Cincinnati needs consistency. Their offense, led by Elly De La Cruz's speed and Jonathan India's on-base skills, has shown flashes of brilliance but struggles with runners in scoring position, batting just .240 in those spots this season. The Cubs, sitting third in the division, are a tough matchup. Their pitching staff, anchored by Shota Imanaga (2.95 ERA), has been stingy, allowing the third-fewest runs in the NL. Chicago's lineup, powered by Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki, thrives on exploiting mistakes, making Cincinnati's pitching staff—prone to wildness—vulnerable. Reds starter Hunter Greene (3.45 ERA) takes the mound Friday, aiming to set the tone with his high-90s fastball. However, his command issues (4.1 BB/9) could be costly against the disciplined Cubs. Saturday's matchup features Nick Lodolo, whose breakout 2025 (3.12 ERA, 9.5 K/9) has been a bright spot for Cincinnati. He'll face Chicago's Justin Steele, a lefty who's limited opponents to a .220 average. The Reds must capitalize early, as the Cubs' bullpen ranks among the league's best. Sunday's finale pits Andrew Abbott against Kyle Hendricks, where Cincinnati's ability to work counts could decide the game. The Reds need at least two wins to gain ground in the division. De La Cruz's base-stealing (35 SB) and Spencer Steer's power (15 HR) will be key. Defensively, Cincinnati must tighten up after recent errors cost them games. Expect a high-energy series with playoff implications, as both teams vie for postseason

The Nats blanked the Cubs 2-0 on Wednesday night at Navy Yard.  Mark & Al recap MacKenzie Gore's sterling outing where he struck out seven in as many innings worked. Gore regained sole possession for the most strikeouts in MLB this season with 108.(07:25) What are the chances that Gore starts the All Star Game next month in Atlanta for the NL?  Paul Skenes is currently the likely leader in the clubhouse on that front.(14:00) Brad Lord stepped up in nursing the 1-0 lead in the top of the 8th. Lord has not allowed a run in six consecutive appearances.  Kyle Finnegan took over for him in the 9th and notched his 17th save of the year.(17:35) The offense was carried by bench guys in the victory as the RBIs belonged to Amed Rosario & Nasim Nuñez.  Rosario homered in the bottom of the 7th to put Washington on the board and Nuñez doubled in the 8th for some insurance.(24:10) An update on Mason Thompson, who is working his way back from a 2nd Tommy John surgery.(30:00) Josh Whetzel, the Voice of the Rochester Red Wings, gives the latest on Brady House, Cade Cavalli, and more from AAA.

With the Midsummer Classic set to take place in Atlanta at Truist Park on July 15th, today is the day that All-Star Game ballots have dropped—and it's up to the public to make their choices. While some players might be locks to start the game (looking at you, Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani), there are a few sports that could see some interesting position battles. Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman go down the ballots for the American and National League squads, making their picks for who they think should be voted in as starters. They wonder if Juan Soto can beat out an impressive trio of NL outfielders, why Dave Roberts could be selective with his Los Angeles Dodgers players and whether Rafael Devers even bothers to bring a glove with him to Atlanta. Later on this episode of the Baseball Bar-B-Cast, the guys examine the weird season that the Atlanta Braves are having—and why it's oddly similar to the Boston Red Sox—before going around the league to discuss all the injury news surrounding the Houston Astros and New York Mets, among other teams. They close the show with the latest news surrounding the Men's and Women's College World Series.(3:38) - AL All-Star starting squad(20:54) - NL All-Star starting squad(40:29) - What's up with the Braves?(56:45) - BBQ Boo Boo List updates(1:07:26) - College World Series news  Subscribe to Baseball Bar-B-Cast on your favorite podcast app:

I remember laying next to my restless son late at night, scrolling and searching for answers. We had already seen 17 different doctors. I was exhausted. I didn't want more tests. I didn't want another dismissal.I was looking for validation - something, anything, to hold onto. I wanted hope. I wanted to be seen. I wanted to feel like I wasn't crazy for believing that my child could actually heal. But that space didn't exist. So after years of sharing the healing that finally restored my son's health, I've created it - for the woman I was then, and for the woman you are today.

The Nats four game win streak was snapped in Sunday afternoon's 3-1 loss in Arizona.  Mark (From Phoenix) & Al open with DBacks Ace Corbin Burnes leaving the game in the top of the 5th due to a potential elbow injury.  Burnes will have a MRI on Monday just a few minths after signing a 6-year/ $210M deal.(07:30) James Wood was hitless, but both team doubles came from the new guys in Robert Hassell III & Daylen Lile.  Nathaniel Lowe's RBI single in the 5th was the only source of offense.(09:30) Mitchell Parker struggled yet again the bottom of the 1st and all three Arizona runs came in that frame.  Should the team experiment going with an Opener in future Parker starts to try and right the ship? Parker's ERA in the 1st inning is astonishingly over 10.50 this season and roughly 3.50 in all other innings.  (19:45) The three relievers used combined for three scoreless frames. Eduardo Salazar escaped a jam in the bottom of the 6th his first appearance since he replaced Jorge Lopez on the roster.(22:00) The Cubs come to D.C. on Tuesday and are tied for the best record in the NL.  The hosts note that Chicago is far ahead of Washington despite the two franchises beginning their rebuilds at the exact same time in the summer of 2021.(25:05) If the Nats are in the Wild Card hunt ahead of the Trade Deadline, will they be buyers? The Deadline this season is on Thursday July 31st at 6PM.

It was good timing for Williams as Cade Cavalli pitched well in AAA on Wednesday afternoon.(28:00) MacKenzie Gore will take the mound on Thursday night in the rubber match.  Gore leads all of MLB with 93 strikeouts so far this season; one ahead of Detroit's Tarik Skubal.
