No man [woman], for any considerable period, can wear one face to themselves, and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be true. ~ Nathaniel Hawthorne SHOW NOTES For many of us, the Pandemic has served as a mirror, forcing us to take a hard, long look at ourselves. And it might have revealed somethings you do not like very much, as well as the best in each of us. It is a back and forth that is known in spiritual terms as the True and False Self and is the topic of today’s podcast. Jeremy interviews Fil Anderson about the complexity of our true and false self, how we can recognize the difference, and find grace in the midst of confronting our own “imposter.” It’s a beautiful, freeing, and engaging conversation that gives each of us insights that will help us navigate these turbulent times and help us finally claim our identity as God’s child and experience His pure pleasure in who we are. A Contemplative Question: Think back to a time or event where you struggled being your true self; saying what was really on your heart or acting in a way that was consistent with who you are on the inside.
