In this episode of Confetti Park, we hear a childhood music memory from Bruce Sunpie Barnes, the talented and multifaceted blues harmonica player and zydeco accordionist from Louisiana. In addition to leading the zydeco band the Louisiana Sunspots, Bruce has had a long career as a ranger and naturalist at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve in Louisiana. (He also had a career in the world of NFL football, playing with the Kansas City Chiefs!) And he's the photographer and author of Talk That Music Talk. Read more about his biography at All Music. Bruce’s music has always been a part of his life, and even as a naturalist, he found music an effective way to communicate about the culture and importance of the Louisiana environment. Bruce was one of the key producers on two-album compilation, the National Park Service: Songs of the Lower Mississippi Delta. Here Bruce shares a special memory of his father, who was one of his most important influences. "My earliest memory of anything to do with music was sitting on my father’s knee and listening to him play harmonica. He would work all day, and when he’d come home in the evening, I always wanted to hear him play his harmonica. And he’d play a song called “Coon 'n the Hound” and make these barks like a dog…. and I was completely fascinated by it. I would sit on his knee and he would play for all my brothers and sisters (a lot of them), but I would just sit and I would try to figure out where all that sound was coming from. It was like magic. It was the first thing I ever associated with being magic. I would always think about that when I would go to bed, 'I can’t wait till I get old enough so I can make some magic.'"

With the return of Gotham Season 2 on Channel 5 in the UK on Monday the 11th of January 2016 we're reposting our Gotham Damned if You Do Podcast about Season 2 episode 1. This episode was originally recorded in New York as we traveled to the real Gotham for New York Comic Con 2015. While we were in the city that never sleeps we got to catch up on Gotham Season 2 on demand. We discuss Gotham Rise of The Villains Episode 1, the first episode of the second season of Gotham. We talk all about the secret in Wayne Manor, Jim's new job, a new more crazy Barbara Kean, the end of "Commissioner" Loeb and Oswald as the King of New York. Synopsis for our Gotham Damned If You Do Podcast - Gotham Season 2 Episode 1. After the gang warfare that embroiled the city Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) finds himself as the King of Gotham, whilst Detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) finds himself down-and-out in Gotham after being fired by Commissioner Gillian Loeb (Peter Scolari). Still determined to undermine Loeb, Gordon's moral compass waivers yet again as he makes another deal with Cobblepot who forces Loeb to re-instate Gordon as Detective, resign as Commissioner and ultimately be replaced by Sarah Essen (Zabryna Guevara) who now finds herself in charge of the G.C.P.D. Changes are also afoot in the underbelly of Gotham as a new criminal mastermind Theo Galavan (James Frain) and his sister and enforcer, Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) release the inmates of Arkham Asylum including Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) and Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) to wreak havoc across Gotham. Meanwhile at Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) embark down the secret staircase to discover a secret room. Here Bruce learns much more about his father, Thomas Wayne, who in a note left to Bruce advises him to leave well alone the mystery behind Gotham and to choose happiness over the truth...unless, of course, he feels his true calling! We will return with our review of Gotham S02 E02 Knock, Knock next week. We will begin brand new reviews of Gotham when we reach episode 5 in the UK.
