Welcome to The Month End, a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) community chat. The Month End will provide emerging CPG brands real life knowledge into the accounting, finance, and operational world. Our guests will be key stakeholders from those same brands, as well as other key contributors to the industry, which all have vast experiences and insight that will be shared with the audience.• • •In episode ten, Accountfully's Managing Partner, Brad Ebenhoeh sits down with Co-Founder and CEO of Jar Goods, Melissa Vitelli. Melissa gives us a no-BS look into the challenges of an inventory based start up and how she and her partner have tackled them. This woman owned and run purveyor of quality sauces started based on a few things; to bring an exciting, fresh sauce option to the (stale) market, and to have a quickly prepared food that wasn't low quality (easier, faster, happier being the key words). Learn how Jar Goods differentiated themselves from the big dogs in the sauce category and ways being part of the Chobani incubator program helped them in - as Melissa puts it - unmeasurable ways. You can also read more inside insight on how Accountfully helped the company in our Jar Goods case study: https://www.accountfully.com/case-studies/jargoodsSHOW NOTES and AUDIO RECORDING: http://www.accountfully.com/podcastThe Jar Goods Website: http://www.jargoods.comJar Goods Case Study: https://www.accountfully.com/case-studies/jargoods• • •MORE RESOURCESMore CPG Resources: http://bit.ly/Accountfully_ResourcesBecome part of the in-depth conversation with fellow CPG business owners - Join The Accountfully Alliance Groups: Facebook: http://bit.ly/Accountfully_Alliance_FB LinkedIn: http://bit.ly/Accountfully_Alliance_LIUse the power of your inventory to grow your business -Download The Inventory Handbook: http://bit.ly/TheInventoryHandbook
My guest, Melissa Vitelli, had a successful career in fashion photography but she found her herself being drawn to the food industry. It led her on her entrepreneurial path to selling homemade tomato sauce and becoming the co-founder and CEO of Jar Goods. "People who need quick foods, should not be relegated to low quality." - Melissa Vitelli. Learn more about this episode of She's Got Moxie at joychudacoff.com/137

Melissa Vitelli had a successful career in the New York fashion industry when she found herself looking for a way to decompress from the hustle and bustle of the city. As she began enjoying more time enjoying nature on the quieter side of New York state, she got into vegetable gardening. And, the closer she got to her food, the more Melissa began thinking about entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency. That’s when she decided she wanted to rewriter her narrative and become a food entrepreneur. And, that’s where her company Jar Goods was born. Jar Goods creates authentic, clean label tomato sauces made with sweet, vine-ripened tomatoes and NO artificial flavors, colors or artificial preservatives. In my conversation with Melissa, you’ll learn: How she was inspired to create a food product she calls, “joy in a jar” How building a passionate tribe is crucial in the food business How to create a strong brand story buyers will resonate with And, of course, what goes into making a really great tomato sauce You can learn more about Jar Goods at jargoods.com You can also get in touch with me at adriagreenhauff.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/better-food-stories/support

Today's episode is a long one and it is a good one. This week's muses are Gia and Alexis, the leaders of Creative Babes Cleveland. I met up with them both for coffee back in October because I was curious about what they were doing and I immediately felt a connection towards them. Since that coffee date I attended two of the Creative Babes Cleveland events and I really just can't get enough. It's like a sleep over but for adults...and without the sleeping over. Words that I think of when I think of hanging out at Creative Babes are cozy, warm, gooey and magical. If you haven't been to one I highly recommend it. I was filled with so many good feelings when they both agreed to come and chat with me on the podcast. We ended up meeting up at Alexis's house on a Sunday morning and it was very on brand. Cozy and magical. We sat on the couch, drank coffee and chatted all things Creative Babes. I'm so excited for you to hear our conversation. Enjoy! Some of the things we talk about in the conversation are: -How Gia and Alexis met and how they fell in friendship love -How Creative Babes was born and how they got the idea to bring it to Cleveland -What it is like being a creative, trying to figure out what you want to do with your life...the options are endless! -Their current inspiration -What it is like working with your best friend -Female friendship AND MORE If you would like to connect with Gia and Alexis here's how: -Follow Creative Babes Cleveland on Instagram -Follow Alexis on Instagram -Follow Gia on Instagram -Check out the Website Connect with me: -Follow me on Instagram -Check out my website -Send an email to museroompodcast@gmail.com -I am booking clients for podcast management.
