Vi har inviteret Gert Jensen aka Mr. Fendt i studiet. Til daglig er står han for teknisk support på værkstedet hos TBS Maskinpower i Starup. Denne gang fortæller Gert historien om TBS Maskinpower og om sin egen vej ind i butikken. Vi kommer omkring hans læretid i slut 80'erne på et maskinværksted, og vi hører historien om, hvordan Gert blev værkfører i 2000 hos Fendt Scandinavia, hvor han bl.a. blev nødt til at lære det tyske sprog. Vi slutter historien af, der hvor TBS står i dag. Jonas Krog, der er maskinfører hos Lunde Maskinstation, og Peter Zilmer, som de fleste måske kender som "Bøvle Kaj", sidder klar bag rattet. Det skal handle om alt det der sker på en maskinstation - selvom deres syn på hverdagens små udfordringer ikke altid er helt ens. On the show this week, Anthony is discussing start-ups with Scott Sambucci has spent the last 20 years building and selling technology products, leading three Silicon Valley startups each to their first millions in revenue. Scott works with startups across the world, helping them grow their sales faster. He has extensive experience in sales, customer development, and company management in both startups and public-traded companies. He’s on the show today to share his experience leading high-performing sales teams and what it takes to make a start-up blow-up.   They kick off their conversation by talking about how and where start-ups can find their first customers and clients. When Scott thinks about start-ups, it means getting from the first dollars to the first million, to the fist ten beyond that. What he recommends is looking at the industries in which your company was born. You’ve found a problem that isn’t solved yet, so the simplest and most direct, focused way to making your solution known is to reach out to those already in your network. When you begin to scale that process of sales, too often do we get caught up in the big picture. The most important factor to keep in mind is iteration. The same way you would release a product and adjust based on the feedback your receive, you do the same with any aspect of your business. As far as when to iterate, he uses the rule of 3 and 10. When your company grows by 3x or 10x, everything in place will break. The way you’ve done things won’t work any longer. You have to come up with a new process. This about how you segment the long journey that is scaling.   Scott talks a bit about the “Q Framework” that he wrote about in his book. The “Q” stands for questions. There are seven questions that you have to be clear on in order to formulate your own sales process. The first three questions are:   What problem are you solving? It sounds easy, but too often we overlook it. No problem, no sale! What segment are you selling to? Get clarity on your target audience. Who are the buyers? Under what circumstances are people purchasing your product?   A mistake Scott sees when companies scale is they scale without having a core system in place. Any production line that wants to build multiple warehouses needs to make sure that the first one works as efficiently as possible. Scaling is the same way. If you don’t have a foundational, working, effective process, scaling it will only compound the issues it has. Additionally, trying to crowbar a “good” system into your business could hinder your progress. Trying to use a lego that doesn’t fit your set just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it’ll play the role you’d like it to.   Scott talks about when to hire a sales representative or when to pursue working for a start-up, the importance of project-based testing for who you bring on your team, and more.   What you’ll learn On today’s show, Scott shares with us the in’s and out’s of scaling successful start-ups. He talks about getting from the first dollars to the first million, to the fist ten beyond that. Si has leído mi libro Quiero ser Rico: Consigue la libertad financiera en 5 pasos o me sigues habitualmente sabrás que, para los que tenemos “poca liquidez”, recomiendo empezar con pequeñas inversiones que nos generen algún ingreso residual. Y el crowdfunding es una excelente forma de empezar.Ya hemos visto cómo invertir en el mercado inmobiliario a través de Housers (te recuerdo que si usas mi enlace de afiliado te regalan 25 euros para tu primera inversión). Y tambien como invertir en deuda de particulares y empresas a través de plataformas como Zank. Por tanto empecemos con el artículo de hoy Las diferentes opciones para invertir en StarUp a través del CrowdfundingUna StartUp por definición es una empresa que está iniciando su camino. Para poder llegar a ser una verdadera empresa que genere beneficios primero necesita dinero, mucho dinero.AVISO: Las estadísticas dicen que el 90% de las empresas cierran antes de los 5 años. Ten en cuenta esta estadística antes de invertir en una empresa nueva.Algunas de estas nuevas empresas necesitan dinero para un proyecto muy específico, como por ejemplo para lanzar un nuevo producto al mercado. En esta caso lo que necesitan es financiación para ese proyecto. En otros casos lo que necesitan es financiación para toda la empresa. Para hacerla crecer, para desarrollar alguna tecnología que sea el Core de la propia empresa. Hago esta aclaración porque aquí radica la diferencia entre el crowdfunding de recompensa y el crowdfunding directamente en empresas de nueva creación. Invertir en StartUp a través del crowdfunding La próxima semana hablaremos en mas detalle de este tipo de inversión pero para dejarlo hoy claro. Invertir directamente en StartUp es ser accionista de la empresa. Vamos quedarte con una parte de la misma.Crowdfunding de recompensaEl crowdfunding de recompensa es ayudar a financiar un producto. Y a cambio recibes una recompensa, que nunca es en forma de dinero.Invertir en StartUp a través del Crowdfunding de recompensa Al crowdfunding también se le llama micromecenazgo. El mecenas era ese Rey o persona poderosa de épocas como el renacimiento “contrataba” a un artista para que trabajase para él. El artista a cambio de su trabajo recibía la protección del Rey, un salario, un taller, etc.El Rey disfrutaba de sus obras que en muchos casos eran para inmortalizar al propio Rey.El crowdfunding de recompensa es exactamente lo mismo. Realmente no solo empresas usan esta forma de financiación. Muchos de los proyectos financiados a través de este tipo de crowdfunding son libros, películas, música, etc. Aunque también se usa para financiar productos tecnológicos. Tanto físicos como digitales (apps, juegos, software). La recompensa para el mecenasLos inversores o mecenas que invierten en el producto reciben a cambio una recompensa. Que puede ser cosas como:-Aparecer su nombre en los créditos de una película, CD o DVD.-Ser los primeros en ver o tener la película o el producto de que se trate. -Recibir el producto a precio reducido. En este caso el precio es el importe de la financiación. Se supone que el producto se va a poner a la venta a un precio muy superior al que estas pagando.Las opciones son tantas como le puedan ocurrir al que lanza el proyecto.Cómo funciona el crowdfunding de recompensaVista la teoría entremos en detalles. El promotor, la startup tiene una idea o proyecto. Hace todos sus deberes.¿Cuánto dinero necesita? Y en que lo va a gastar exactamente.Cuanto es el mínimo que va a pedir a cada inversor.Que le va entregar a cambio= la recompensa. Desde que se consiga la financiación en qué plazo estará disponible el producto y la recompensa.Entonces presenta su proyecto en una de las plataformas de crowdfunding de este tipo que existen. Y durante un tiempo limitado los mecenas pueden invertir en ese proyecto.Terminado el plazo y no se llega al mínimo, no hay proyecto y los inversores no tienen que poner su dinero.Dependiendo de la plataforma lo habitual es que completado el plazo tengamos que pagar nuestra inversión. Pero se puede dar el caso de tener que pagar en el momento de formalizar nuestra inversión y si no se completa la financiación nos devuelvan nuestro dinero.Objetivos ampliadosPuede darse el caso de que antes del plazo se complete la financiación prevista. En esta caso pueden suceder 2 cosas. -Se cierra el proyecto-Existen objetivos ampliadosLos Objetivos ampliados son cosas a mayores, ya previstas pero que no son necesarias para poner en marcha el proyecto. Estas cosas son nuevas características del producto con nuevas recompensas para el inversor.Principales plataformas crowdfunding de recompensaExplicado todo de forma un poco simplificada y rápida de este tipo de inversiones vamos a ver algunas de las principales plataformas de crowdfunding de recompensa.Indicar que algunas no solo hacen crowdfunding de recompensa sino también crowdfunding solidario. El crowdfunding solidario es apoyar y ayudar proyectos solidarios. Como financiar a ONG´s, ayudar a alguien enfermo con un tratamiento médico. Etc. En este caso la recompensa es mas emocional y menos tangible.-Al-Éxito-Apontoque-CoopFunding-CrowdEduca-Einicia-Goteo-Indiegogo-KickStarter: Seguramente la plataforma más popular-Lanzanos-Libros-MasScience-Microinversores-Money for dream-Namlebee-Patrocinalos!-Patreon: cómo no, si hablamos de podcast no podemos olvidarnos de patreon. -Precipita-Que no pare la música-Ritual-Ronfunding-Siamm-SponsorTo-TotSuma-Trustme-Ulule:Tanto proyectos emprendedores como solidarios-Uniempren-Verkami: La principal empresa de crowdfunding de España-Youdoido-YoufeelmY una cosa masHoy hemos visto el crowdfunding de recompensa, en este caso no se trata tanto de una inversión que nos genere ingresos pasivos. Pero si podemos acceder a destacadas recompensas. Como siempre os cuento mi experiencia personal. Yo solo he participado una vez en un proyecto de crowdfunding de recompensa a través de Verkami. La experiencia de usuario de la plataforma fue excelente, todo muy fácil de usar. Y el proyecto. Bueno el proyecto fue la Guía del emprendedor de Joan Boluda. Un proyecto que fue un rotundo éxito.
