"Joanie Loves Chachi" is an ABC sitcom that aired from 1982-1983. It was a "Happy Days" spin-off that followed Joanie Cunningham and Chachi Arcola to Chicago where they pursued music careers and furthering their relationship. After the initial curiosity wore off, ratings declined rapidly. ABC decided to pull the plug, and both Joanie and Chachi were written back into Happy Days for its final season. "Joanie Loves Chachi" has become something of a punchline in TV history, often cited as an example of a failed spin-off. Will the S1E1 boys disagree? Listen as they deep dive the show's pilot episode, "Chicago". Starting: Erin Moran, Scott Baio, Al Molinaro, Ellen Travolta, Art Metrano, Tom Bosley, & Marion Ross www.S1E1POD.com Instagram & X (Twitter): @S1E1POD

Joanie Loves Chachi WAS a show. You’ve probably heard of it, but never actually seen it! It was the Happy Days spin-off that spun out. The series mixes traditional sitcom elements with musical performances, as Joanie Cunningham and Chachi Arcola try to make it as rock and/or roll musicians in Chicago in the early 60s—and we see if they can carry the tune. Ryan and Jason pay tribute to a fallen Lady: a woman who disappeared from the spotlight after an extended and iconic run as America's little sister Joanie Cunningham, only to pop up periodically when it seemed the news was less than good. A woman who we hope found the happiness she sought for so many years outside of the grind that is Hollywood's sausage factory, Ms. Erin Moran.
