Here's my original description for the episode:On this episode, we talk about how it feels like we've gone back in time when it comes to anime we're watching (from Ranma 1/2 and Dragon Ball Daima, to Gundam G-Quacks!), and I talk a little bit about seeing Tomcat's Big Adventure on the big screen! Then, we dig into our experiences seeing the stage show Sailor Moon: The Super Live--Laura seeing it in the UK, and me seeing it it on the USA tour. Today we go behind the movie “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.” We'll talk with Lula Parker Betenson, sister of the legendary outlaw Butch Cassidy. Now, before you picture tumbleweeds and shootouts, let me tell you, Lula has her own incredible stories to share, from growing up around one of the most famous names in the wild west to befriending Robert Redford. She'll also reveal some fascinating family history that's shaped her life. We're going to dive into those stories, hear some surprises, and maybe even bust a few myths along the way.

At the same time, Ralph is having second thoughts about being a superhero after he almost sends a bus full of tourists over a cliff. Bill tries to tell him to suck it up, but he is not listening. At least not until Ralph meets John Hart, AKA The Lone Ranger. After talking with him, he realizes people need heroes.

Frizz and Bob trade in the grunge for grooves this week with a soul-cleansing deep dive into the radiant world of Earth, Wind & Fire. Frizz pours a Speyburn 10 Year Old Single Malt, while Bob sips on the peaty Kilchoman's Sanaig as they celebrate a band that blended funk, jazz, soul, gospel, and a little mysticism into pure musical joy. They dig into Maurice White's visionary genius, their rise through college campuses and cult films, and their evolution into one of the most dazzling, uplifting live acts of all time. From Love Is Life to September, Shining Star to Let's Groove, this episode is packed with towering horn lines, falsetto magic, cosmic stagecraft, and enough musical insight to make even Miles Davis tip his hat. Cue up the kalimba, light up the disco lasers, and get ready to sing a song because this one's all about hope, movement, and a legacy written in the stars.
Carole and Sydney have never met, but at one time they were both married to the same man, Raymond Caulfield. Ray owned a private detective agency, and, per his will, now Carole and Sydney own it. But, before any of that they have to figure out who killed him. Also, they are being followed and attacked by many people who want something they have. What is it? A Bridge. They don't know what that means, but that doesn't mean you won't hear the word "bridge" at least 1000 times in this episode. Just listen to find out what is going on!

Fleetwood Mac's Rumours is undoubtedly one of the best pop rock albums ever. But the story behind its creation reads like a soap opera. Everyone -- Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, John McVie, and Mic Fleetwood -- were enduring heartbreak during its recording. Stevie and Lindsey were breaking up. The McVies had already split, but John wasn't ready to let go. Even Mic Fleetwood was separating from his wife back home. For three months, they were stuck in a recording booth together nearly round the clock, singing each other's breakup songs and harmonizing with their exes. Heartbreak is encoded in every song, from Lindsey Buckingham's "Never Going Back Again" to Christine McVie's "You Make Loving Fun" to Stevie Nick's "Dreams". But in spite of ... or maybe because of? ... this termoil, Rumours has become one the best selling albums of all time. Peter and Adam listen to this pop rock masterpiece front-to-back, deconstructing each song (and the stories behind them) to understand what makes this album great. -----Keyboards? Today's podcast features an incredibly talented and always delightful Catherine Hicks. You might remember her as the loving Annie Camden from “7th Heaven,” the brilliant Dr. Gillian Taylor who taught Captain Kirk a thing or two about whales in “Star Trek IV” and of course, the woman who had the unfortunate luck of buying a doll possessed by a serial killer in “Child's Play.” But then, we've all made questionable shopping choices, right? But, did you also know she starred alongside Bill Murray in “Stripes?” She held her own against one of comedy's greatest. She'll comment on that experience.

What is a “ReView” episode, you might ask? Well, it's my highly-clever (ok not really) name for episodes where I go back and revisit an older title I haven't seen in a long time, and see if what I remember (and what my opinions on it) are still the same now that some time's gone by. This month, I'm revisiting one of Tezuka's TV films in a brand new way: New anime publisher SkySet Entertainment has released the 80s sci-fi fantasy film A Time Slip of 10,000 Years: Prime Rose on bluray in America--and they created a full English dub for it! The 1970s era cool just wafted off of Dave Parker, the gigantic Pirates slugger who was one of the best, if not THE BEST players in baseball in the last half of that decade. Parker's persona, his play, and his essence were all larger than life and are still clear almost 50 years later. That bigness, however, led to problems later in his career, both on and off the field, but ultimately set up a fine career denoument as a productive DH, and a Hall of Fame induction scheduled for later this month. Commemorating the passing of the great Cobra, Mike and Bill look back at a pretty impressive, though flawed, career and person. Plus, happy birthday to Cy Blanton and Gene Alley! And farewell to Frank Johnson and Vic Harris.

In your lifetime, you have probably seen at least one “Rocky” movie. Today we go back to a light-hearted conversation with the actor who played Paulie in the Rocky series. Burt Young has always brought an irresistible blend of grit, humor, and heart to every performance. In this episode, we'll be chatting about his journey through Tinseltown, sharing quirky behind-the-scenes tales and laughing through the lighter side of life. It's Hollywood, with a wink and a nod. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and join us for a short, candid conversation with Burt Young.
Some workers find a bone while digging a new foundation. The foreman wants to through it in the garbage so they can keep working, but somehow a student gets ahold of it and gives it to Quincy as a gift. Quincy is kind of forced to teach a class on forensics and once he determines this bone might have a bullet wound, he makes it his (and the class's) mission to figure out what happened. Will they be able to track a murder from decades ago? Listen to find out!
Matt and Eric sift through the admirable craziness of '70s sci-fi classic SILENT RUNNING, about an insufferable nature-lover going nuts and murdering his spaceship crew and then treating his cute droids like crap.
Send us a textWe all have those bands we love that maybe fly under the radar or stay local. For many of us from Minnesota, Gear Daddies is one of those bands. They flashed in the late 80s and early 90s, captivated audiences and were gone just as fast (though they still reunite and play today from time to time). We've enlisted fellow Minnesota podcast The 70s vs. the 80s to help us remember the band and play a Name that Tune style trivia game. You're going to learn a lot if you listen to this one.Not focusing solely on Gear Daddies, we also draft favorite songs from Minnesota artists/songs that reference Minnesota. To cover more ground, we've removed Prince and Bob Dylan from consideration.
