The Snack Leadership podcast was born in 2021, during the height of the pandemic, as a creative way to continue sharing my work when travel was no longer possible. What began as a marketing experiment quickly turned into something much more meaningful. Over the years, podcasting has become one of my favorite ways to learn, grow, and connect. Through conversations with incredible leaders from around the world, I've had the opportunity to explore leadership in all its forms—navigating anxiety, leading with kindness, setting healthy boundaries, elevating our energy, and thinking strategically about the future. In this special 5-year celebration episode, I'm sharing the top-listened-to podcast episode from each year of Snack Leadership. For each one, you'll hear a short snippet of insight or knowledge that resonated most with listeners over a series of 125 podcasts. You'll also find links below to the full episodes so you can dive deeper into the conversations that mattered most. Thank you for being part of this journey—whether you've been listening since the beginning or just found the podcast recently. Your commitment to growing, reflecting, and becoming the best leader you can be—for yourself and for those you lead—is what this podcast is all about.
Dan's not exactly a theater kid, so he sat down with two-time Tony-nominated lead producer Brian Anthony Moreland to find out what a Broadway producer actually does. Brian, who works with greats like Taraji P. Henson, Denzel Washington, and Jake Gyllenhaal, also gets into how he handles conflict between big personalities and why you'd better love the story you're trying to tell. His new show, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, opens at the Barrymore Theatre on April 25th, with previews starting March 30th. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Is everything at the grocery store suddenly “protein-packed”? In this episode of That Don't Sound Right, hosts Peter and Cecil dive headfirst into the modern protein obsession—breaking down keto dieting, tracking carbs and ketones, and the explosion of high-protein snacks lining supermarket shelves. From protein-fortified ketchup and ice cream to waffles that promise muscle gains, Peter and Cecil explore whether added protein is actually beneficial—or just brilliant marketing. Along the way, they share personal experiences, practical nutrition insights, and plenty of grocery-aisle head-scratching moments. Lighthearted, candid, and conversational, this episode helps listeners think critically about food labels, diet trends, and whether we really need more protein—or just better information. Join the conversation and subscribe on YouTube at TDSR Podcast for more episodes that question what everyone else takes for granted. How to Use Space-A Flights: A Military Spouse Guide with Allison Beverly In this episode of the Ruck Up Buttercup podcast, hosts Sabrina and Ashley explore Space-A (Space Available) military flights as an affordable travel option for military families. They interview Alyson Beverly, a military spouse and homeschooling mom of six, who shares her family's experience using Space-A flights to Europe three times in the past two years. The discussion covers flight types (Patriot Express vs. cargo), how to research schedules, terminal locations, and the priority system (Categories 1 to 6), as well as timing considerations and planning tips. They highlight the importance of flexibility, avoiding peak travel periods, building buffer days and emergency funds, and OPSEC awareness. Required paperwork including passports and visas, DD Form 1172, military IDs, leave forms, and sponsorship letters is reviewed, along with practical tips like arriving early, packing light, carrying snacks, dressing in layers, and preparing for cargo flight conditions. Helpful resources include the Pop Smoke blog and the Ebie Travels tool. Alyson shares a cost-saving example. Her family traveled to Barcelona via Space-A for about 400 Euros instead of roughly 16,000 dollars in commercial airfare. The episode ends with information on Allison's free monthly Space-A 101 class at the USO in Fort Belvoir, DC, with slides and links available in the show notes. 00:00 Welcome to Ruck Up Buttercup: Real Talk for Military Spouses 01:14 Meet Today's Guest: Allison Beverly & Why Space-A Matters 03:42 Space-A 101: What “Space Available” Flights Really Are 05:24 Getting Started: Research, Schedules & What to Expect Onboard 06:17 Patriot Express vs Cargo Flights: Comfort, Seats, and Survival Tips 08:30 Where to Fly From: Best Terminals, Coasts vs Middle of the Country 10:13 Priority Categories Explained (Cat 1–6) & Who Gets Seats First 13:00 Sign-Up Timing, 60-Day Window & Return-Trip Strategy 16:47 Flexibility Wins: PCS Season, Off-Peak Travel & Backup Plans 21:45 How to Sign Up & Day-Of Terminal Process (AMC Site, Emails, Roll Call) 25:26 Arrive Early: Roll Call, Waiting, and Terminal Reality Check 27:06 Mindset & Logistics: Don't Leave the Terminal + OPSEC Reminders 28:25 Must-Have Paperwork: DD1172, Leave Forms, Passports & Signatures 30:40 Money Matters Overseas: Cash vs Card in Europe/Asia + ATM Fee Hacks 32:38 Best Planning Resources: Popping Smoke, Eby Travels, and Flight History Data 37:58 Facebook Groups & Gatekeeping: Finding Real Trip Reports That Help 41:08 Packing & Kid-Proofing Space-A: Baggage Limits, Snacks, Shoes, Sensory Prep 50:29 High Risk, High Reward: Real Savings Stories + “Test Flight” to Germany 59:15 Local Help & Wrap-Up: Space-A 101 Class, Slides, and Final Thanks Find Alyson here: http://www.beverlyfamily.com AMC site (https://www.amc.af.mil/Home/AMC-Travel-Site/) Space A 101: https://space-a-101.my.canva.site/ Space A simplified website: https://ebietravels.com/ Poppin Smoke Blog: https://www.poppinsmoke.com/ Military Travel Discounts: https://www.americanforcestravel.com/ Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/115017935197262 Find us or reach out here: Website: www.deployedlove.org/podcast Facebook: www.facebook.com/ruckupbuttercup Instagram: www.instagram.com/ruckupbuttercuppodcast Email: sabrinajohannes@deployedlove.org
Moviewallas is on YouTube! Welcome back to Moviewallas, your weekly dose of film reviews, movie news, and general banter – in theatres, on streaming, or in the back of an airplane. This week, Joe, Rashmi, and Yazdi tackle two wildly different cinematic experiences: the provocative indie Pillion and Emerald Fennell's lush, divisive adaptation of Wuthering Heights. Snack check: Mango-chili dark chocolate straight from Mexico City sets the tone – bold, unexpected, and a little dangerous. Much like the films we're reviewing. Streaming Picks – “I Can't Find Anything to Watch…” Undercurrent (Ullozhukku) – Netflix A flood traps a grieving family in this intense Malayalam drama we first saw at IFFLA. Claustrophobic, emotionally charged, and unforgettable. Triangle of Sadness – Netflix (Feb 21) Ruben Östlund's razor-sharp satire finally lands on Netflix. Gender politics, class warfare, and one dinner scene you'll never forget. Bridgerton Season 4 (Part 1) – Netflix Lavish, romantic, and gloriously anachronistic. If you're in the mood for swooning and scandal, Netflix has you covered. Pillion This one sparked serious conversation. A shy young man is pulled into the world of a dominant biker, and what unfolds is funny, uncomfortable, emotional, and surprisingly layered. Anchored by fearless performances from Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgard, Pillion is bold filmmaking that refuses to play it safe. It's not for everyone – but it's undeniably memorable. “Wuthering Heights” (2026) Emerald Fennell brings maximalist style to Emily Brontë's classic tale of destructive love. Starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, this adaptation leans heavily into mood, sensuality, and striking visuals. We debate whether the passion translates, whether the characters earn their tragedy, and whether style can carry a story this iconic. Moviewallas is on YouTube! Welcome back to Moviewallas – your weekly dose of film reviews, movie news, and general banter (in theaters, on streaming, or in the back of an airplane). This week Joe, Rashmi, and Yazdi are fueled by Costco mango cakes, working through a few new mic-setup quirks, and diving into two very different watches: Scarlet and The Moment. Plus, we're back with “I Can't Find Anything to Watch on Video On Demand” – three non-Netflix picks to rescue your queue. Snack check + production note Yazdi brings individually wrapped mango cakes (dangerously addictive), and Joe shares a quick update on the podcast audio setup as the team tweaks the new recording gear. Streaming Picks – • Just Like Heaven (Paramount+) – Rashmi revisits this warm, early-2000s comfort watch with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo – “like a hug,” and it still holds up. • The Librarians (KPBS on YouTube) – Yazdi recommends this timely documentary about banned books and the librarians caught in the middle, including the very real threats some have faced. • Banned Books and the Librarians Caught in … • Die My Love (MUBI) – Joe champions Lynne Ramsay's polarizing, visceral fever-dream starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson – a film that's less about plot and more about impact. (Even if you don't love it, the performances are the reason to watch.) Scarlet A new animated feature from Mamoru Hosoda (director of Mirai), Scarlet delivers absolutely stunning visuals – the kind you want to pause and frame – with a story that sparked debate. The group agrees the animation is breathtaking, but wrestles with pacing, mythology, and how well the emotional beats translate. If you love ambitious animation (and don't mind a little chaos in the world-building), you'll want to hear where everyone lands. The Moment A mockumentary-style satire set in the pop-music machine, The Moment wins the room with its humor, self-awareness, and industry-side-eye. Even coming in with mixed familiarity on Charli XCX, all three hosts get pulled into the absurdity – with major shout-outs for the comedic timing, the supporting cast, and how sharply it skewers the push-pull between “art” and “commerce.” This one surprised us, and we break down why it works even if you don't know the pop world it's playing in. Like, comment, and subscribe if you enjoy spoiler-light film talk with strong opinions, snack tangents, and the occasional tech gremlin. Snacks make up a quarter of what most people eat. Yet most of us never question them. In this episode, Professor Sarah Berry, ZOE's Chief Scientist, explains why snacking is not the problem and how seven snack swaps can lower cholesterol, support gut health, and reduce heart disease risk. Most snacks are high in sugar, salt, and saturated fat, and many carry “health” claims that hide this. Sarah breaks down how to spot this, explains what makes a good snack and why snack timing matters. You'll walk away with seven simple snack ideas that help improve cholesterol, blood sugar, and heart health in weeks. If you're a snacker, this may be the easiest place to improve your diet.

What if eating healthy didn't have to be confusing or overwhelming? Amy Hudson sits down with Gerianne Cygan to break down exactly how to fuel your body with whole foods. Drawing from the Exercise Coach Nutrition Playbook, they unpack how to build meals that satisfy, energize, and support your health—without guilt or complicated diets. They walk through realistic examples for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, plus the mindset shifts that make healthy eating stick for the long term. Amy starts by explaining how adopting a whole foods lifestyle can create big shifts in your energy and health. She emphasizes beginning with realistic, simple meals rather than overhauling everything at once. Gerianne answers what a day eating strictly whole foods looks like. Breakfast could be a nutrient-packed smoothie with nut milk, eggs with avocado and vegetables, or unsweetened tea/coffee. Gerianne shares a typical lunch example: leftover dinner with protein, fat, and vegetables, or an omelet with meat and vegetables. Big salads with chicken, avocado, and homemade vinaigrette are another option. These meals are flexible, simple, and satisfying. Gerianne highlights snack options to keep your energy stable. One to two hard-boiled eggs, some nuts, or raw vegetables can bridge meals. Snacks prevent overeating later and reinforce healthy habits. Gerianne shares what a balanced dinner should look like. A strong protein source like chicken, beef, or fish. Include at least two vegetables and add healthy fats like avocado, olive oil, or coconut oil for flavor and satiety. Gerianne shares dessert or evening snack options that still align with whole foods. Unsweetened plantain chips, raw veggies, or an apple with almond butter are perfect. Gerianne shares her top tips for success when transitioning to a whole foods lifestyle. She stresses that willpower alone isn't enough; mindset is what matters. Learn the difference between willpower and mindset. Willpower forces you in the moment, relying on self-control and discipline. Mindset is a deeper, long-term framework about who you are and the choices you naturally make. Amy and Gerianne highlight another key difference: with willpower, it's "I have to," but with mindset, it's "I choose to." Willpower is exhausting, while mindset is automatic. This shift is essential for long-term success. Hear a real-life example of willpower versus mindset. Willpower is forcing yourself to exercise or eat whole foods, often inconsistently. Mindset turns it into an identity: "I am a person who eats whole foods." Gerianne's key tip for adopting a whole foods diet: use willpower as a launchpad to establish new habits. However, your willpower must evolve into a mindset. Once habits feel natural, the effort becomes effortless. Amy explains the benefit of the 30-Day Metabolic Comeback Challenge. It's a practical way to "practice being the person" who makes healthy choices daily. This helps your mindset catch up with your actions. Amy highlights that healthy living isn't about restriction; it's about aligning your desires with the person you want to become. When your identity matches your choices, exercising and eating well feels effortless. Over time, whole foods become what you genuinely desire. Amy and Gerianne agree that a personal trainer should do more than guide your workouts. They should also help you adopt a whole foods mindset. By shaping your daily habits and reinforcing healthy choices, a good personal trainer makes eating nutritious meals feel natural instead of forced. This guidance bridges the gap between short-term willpower and long-term lifestyle change. Mentioned in This Episode: The Exercise Coach - Get 2 Free Sessions! Exercise doesn't have to mean a 60-minute workout, a perfect program, or an all-or-nothing mindset. Amanda, Christin, and Joyce talk about "exercise snacks" sprinkled throughout your day. They break down what they are, what they're not, and why emerging research shows these small bouts can improve glucose control, cardiovascular fitness, and overall metabolic health, even when total time is low You'll hear real-life examples of how to stack movement into busy schedules, from desk jobs to parenting to travel days, plus why frequency often matters more than duration when it comes to baseline health. They also unpack the psychological upside: better focus, steadier energy, reduced cognitive fatigue, and a lower barrier to getting started. If you've been waiting for the "perfect" time to commit to a program, this conversation is your reminder that movement doesn't have to be complicated to be effective. Fitness can fit into your life, not compete with it. Black Iron Nutrition Book a Free Discovery Call Free Macro Calculator Free Downloads Black Iron Blog

This week on The Best Things with Craig and Aaron, we tackle one of the most important culinary debates of our time…Who has the best fast food chicken nuggets? We grabbed nuggets from the biggest names in the game and put them head-to-head. We're talking crispiness, flavor, sauce compatibility, dippability, nostalgia factor, and yes… shape integrity. Are McDonald's nuggets still elite? Is Chick-fil-A overrated?Does Wendy's sneak up on everyone? And does anyone actually win against a spicy nugget? We taste. We debate. We overanalyze. And of course, we put them through our signature tournament to crown the ultimate nugget champion. If you've ever confidently declared “these are the best nuggets and I will die on this hill,” this episode is for you.Let us know your winner. We're ready to argue about it.Check out our website bestthingspod.com!Find us on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @bestthingspod.Wanna watch us? Moviewallas is on YouTube! This week on Moviewallas, Joe, Rashmi, and Yazdi dive into survival, rivalry, obsession, and bone-crunching dystopia. From intimate indie drama to franchise horror spectacle, Episode 587 covers it all — plus a few streaming picks you won't want to miss. Snack check: We kick off with Spanish olive-oil tortas (cookie-meets-cracker perfection) and some very questionable peanut-butter choices by Joe. Streaming Picks Heated Rivalry (HBO) – Yazdi brings the steamy Canadian hockey romance that somehow evolves from “wait, what is this?” into genuinely moving TV. He makes the case that the third (and especially the fifth) episode is elite-level television – if the sauciness doesn't scare you off. Dhurandhar (Netflix) – Rashmi recommends this sprawling, hyper-violent underworld saga with a killer soundtrack and a serious macho streak. The group discusses its intensity, and why a 3.5-hour runtime may be best tackled across two nights. Skyscraper Live / Free Solo (Netflix) – Joe explains why the live Alex Honnold Taipei 101 climb is perhaps more stressful than enjoyable, then re-recommends the actual classic: Free Solo. This week’s Movies: Shelter A remote Scottish island, a rescue that changes everything, and Jason Statham in full lone-wolf mode. Shelter is exactly the kind of tense, brooding action-thriller premise that sounds like perfect weekend viewing – and it sparked a fun debate for us about what works, what doesn't, and what we wish the movie leaned into more. If you like Statham, isolated settings, and movies that invite “wait… hang on” moments, you'll want to hear where we landed. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple The rage-virus universe expands again – this time with a different directorial voice and a very specific kind of intensity. Only one of us saw The Bone Temple, which made for a great, spoiler-light breakdown: what the sequel is aiming for, how it shifts the tone from the previous film, and why it's clearly going to be a big conversation-starter for fans of the franchise. If you've been following this series, the podcast chat is the safest way to decide if it's your kind of entry. Plus: Oscar-season confusion (as always), travel colds that won't quit, and the tease of an upcoming special on the 2025-2026 awards season and your annual “Muggies.” ⸻ Timestamps 00:00 – Start 04:27 – Streaming Picks 04:37 – Heated Rivalry 08:45 – Dhurandhar 13:58 – Skyscraper Live / Free Solo 18:15 – Shelter 29:33 – 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple #Moviewallas #MoviePodcast #Shelter #28YearsLater #BoneTemple #HeatedRivalry #Dhurandhar #FreeSolo #FilmReview #StreamingPicks #TooManyMoviesTooLittleTime

If you're a healthcare practice owner who's ever been told to “just pick up the phone and start calling,” this episode is for you. In this SNACK episode, Miranda Dorta interviews Tracy Cherpeski about why cold calling falls flat in healthcare and what actually works instead. We'll cover why some people naturally need more snacks than others, how life stages and medications play a role, and what balanced snacks can do to support steadier glucose throughout the day.
