The passion, the pageantry, the starving artists... Opera Theater of Cape Cod's conductor and co-founder Joe Turbessi talks about learning to love opera, starting this weekend with an English version of Puccini's "La Boheme."

At the time of this recording, Kate was on tour in Edmonton, Alberta Canada Ms. Porter is a Graduate of Yale '02 and a former Stage Management Intern of the Steppenwolf Theater, Chicago, IL. She is currently a professional Stage Manager dividing her time between Theater and Opera. She is also a member of the Canadian Actor'sEquity. Katie begins calling Puccini's "La Boheme" for the Vancouver Opera in a few short weeks and will be teaching at the opera stage management program at Banff. She is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Eiki Isomura is the Principal Conductor of Opera in the Heights and Keith Chapman is their Director of Artistic Administration. They are kicking off their new season with Puccini's La Boheme, from November 11th through 19th and the rest of their season includes Bizet's The Pearl Fishers and Mark Adamo's Little Women, a production which was born in Houston. They perform with a full orchestra and it's a unique opportunity to see Opera in an intimate setting.
