Post betrayal syndrome is the collection of physical, mental, and emotional symptoms. Over 7,000 people at this point, took the assessment to see up to what extent they're struggling from. So many need heartbreaking details, but one came in and I thought would really help because it’s something we see all the time: after all the betrayal we’ve been through, can people really keep their faith? In This Episode Learn the significant lesson that betrayal will teach Where to find support when dealing with betrayal trauma  Learn the role of the body-mind connection when dealing with betrayal   Quotes “I've been through betrayal so many times I have no faith that I wouldn't find myself in another situation where betrayal is possible. This episode takes us to some insightful, intentional and almost spiritual places and Ani of The Stone Willow Studio brings us there while we dive into her art and practice of floral design. Using a technique called Ikebana which dates back to the 6th century, Ani's process is rooted in many layers of symbolism and mindfulness. During the episode we talk about the power of learning to let go of control during the creative process, being unattached from the final outcome and how being present with your craft pays dividends far beyond just producing something of better quality. Ani walks us through her Japanese influenced process including the use of Yin Yoga as a technique to help her become more focussed, present and come up with new ideas. There are so many analogies for life when Ani speaks about her process of working with such an ephemeral object. We discover the incredible and inspiring story of how Ani went from traveling between Monaco, London and New York as a foreign exchange trader to her current, you could argue opposite end of the spectrum, creative career path as floral designer. She also shares some practical advice for others looking to make a similar career change. The amount of wisdom that is extracted from the process in this episode is truly incredible, I hope you enjoy. Show Notes In this episode Wesley sits down with John Paget in Buffalo, NY for a conversation about the work he has done for the city to help transform the narrative that Buffalo tells itself. His film Buffalo: America's Best Designed City has over 1 million organic views on YouTube. We talk about the process for making that film and the impact it had. We talk about why you sometimes need to break the rules to go "viral" in the podcast. Stories that acknowledge past wrongs and are viewed collectively, can act as a form of confession for moving forward. In the podcast we explore how his film did just that. Quotes: "I've heard is like, if you don't, if you're not doing exactly what you want to be doing, if you can't get hired, doing exactly what you want to be doing, just start doing it and, you know, build that library of work, build that experience, and then that will lead to the connections to do that kind of work." "I've always, throughout my entire career have always tried to be on the cutting edge of innovation, in terms of what camera tools are available and being developed a new techniques. But the techniques should never just be for their own sake, they should serve somehow the creative strategy, and the story." "If you have a calendar, or a deadline for filming, usually if there's three months or a year, depending on how long you have, I like to mark off a third of that, just for creative development. Thinking through. "Okay, what is the strategy? What is the script, the concept" and perfecting that before we pick up a camera and go shoot. Dana tackles the topic of making an impact, not for the money, but for the number of lives you can touch. She explains that playing big means different things for different people, and that it comes down to the individual person to decide what level they should be playing on. She talks about an experience she had recently surrounding a program that she's launching, and how she was told to charge a certain amount for it, otherwise she would feel resentful. She explained that while that may be true for some people, it didn't feel right for her specific situation. Dana goes on to explain why it comes down to each individual, and how she intuitively knew that raising prices would not be the correct move for her if she wanted to have her desired level of impact.   Quotes “I've been transitioning out of the focus of money and into the focus of being of deeper service” “That can feel really good, to know that I've touched someone so deeply that I've changes their life forever” “There's nothing right or wrong in any of it” “What fits for you?” “Your journey, your knowing, that's the most important thing”   Links Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/AccessYourInnerDominatrix/   See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
