DEEKAST #31 Chavis Chandler is a Hip-Hop/Soul artist from east side 7mile Detroit. He is a tough artist to describe without listening to his music. Versatility is one word that comes to mind. A soulful voice with gritty overtones, and a rap skill beyond what we're used to within the last 5 years of Hip-Hop. I was lucky to collaborate on a couple of tracks with him "CB4 ft. Lo Sport and Earlly Mac" and "Let You Go ft. Supakaine". I called up Chav to ask him about Detroit life, his influences, the music 'industry' in Detroit and what's next for his tunes.
