Anthony, Don, Julie, and Reilly are joined by friend-of-the-podcast Alan Siler as they return to the Troughton-era to discuss the recently released animation of The Evil of the Daleks in this bonus episode, Up the Kilt!   Over the course of the episode, the team looks at the animation style, its suitability as a substitute for the missing episodes, and whether they'd watch it again. Along the way, Reilly stokes controversy by revealing that he watched the colour version(!), Julie gets to re-ignite her love for Jamie, Alan spots all the Easter Eggs, Anthony finds himself excited by the animation of the Daleks' eyestalks, and Don tries to figure out the most convoluted method possible of watching this serial.   If you would like to watch along with us, you can find the animation available on physical media through Amazon US (https://amzn.to/3EKAmqH) and Amazon UK (https://amzn.to/31qvN6B). This episode, the Watchers in the Fourth Dimension pick up where they left off last time, with the TARDIS crew still trying to figure out what’s really happening, and an Invasion still on the horizon, as we discuss the second half of the Troughton-era epic that is The Invasion!   Over the course of our discussion, Don casts doubt on Isobel’s photography skills, Reilly talks Cyber branding, Julie helpfully keeps track of all the up-kilt filming attempts (quelle surprise!), and Anthony gets an early start on the UNIT dating question. The entire team can’t help their love of Kevin Stoney as Tobias Vaughn.   For those of you who want to watch this along with us, this story is available on DVD through both Amazon US and Amazon UK. Watchers in the Fourth Dimension: A Doctor Who Podcast

Having made their way through the entirety of the William Hartnell era of Doctor Who, the Watchers in the Fourth Dimension are joined by a guest host for the very first time, as R Alan Siler moderates a retrospective discussion of the entirety of the era.   Over the course of the discussion, the crew touch on a wide range of topics, including which missing story would benefit the most from animation, the most challenging or radically different episodes of the time, and how the era reflected the socio-political situation of the time. Anthony and Don manage to get their final blows in against Richard Martin and John Wiles, respectively. Finally, things get rather silly when Alan surprises everyone with a few rounds of “Snog, Marry, Avoid!,” with some rather outrageous options.   Other media mentioned in this episode: An Adventure in Space and Time (Amazon US | Amazon UK) Game of Thrones (Amazon US | Amazon UK) Star Trek: Picard (Amazon US) Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) (Amazon US | Amazon UK) The Twilight Zone: The Complete Series (Amazon US | Amazon UK) Diagnosis Murder: The Complete Collection (Amazon US | Amazon UK) Matlock: The Complete Series (Amazon US)   Alan’s work can be found at the following links: Children of Time: The Companions of Doctor Who (Amazon US | Amazon UK) Facing the Raven: Doctor Who Series Nine in Review (Amazon US | Amazon UK) Doctor Who’s Greatest Hits: Remastered (Amazon US | Amazon UK)   Finally, you can also follow us and interact with us on various forms of social media - Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Yes, this is likely not the podcast episode that you're looking for. Fear not, though, as I do plan to review the episodes of Series 11 with Jodie, it's just that I'd planned to release this right before the new series started airing, but life intervened. Still, despite the awkward timing, I worked hard on it, so I still wanted to go ahead get it out. Now, the subject matter is admittedly a bit dated as the con I'm discussing happened a few months back, but I had hoped to use this as basically a practice episode to get back into the swing of things. So, anyway, I hope you will all join me for some reminiscing about my time at this year's Wholanta convention, as well as some bonus Happy Fandom Time squee and a mini, non-spoiler-y chat about David Tennant's film, 'Bad Samaritan'.
