Today Saul and Jolene talk about Cathartic Gaming. In previous episodes this subject has been mentioned from time to time , but we thought it deserved its own episode. Saul gives the definition of the word cathartic and catharsis and then Saul and Jolene relate it to RPGs. The idea that all games are cathartic in one form or another the main difference is in scale. From simple diversion as one can have in reading a book or watching a movie or tv show, to a full cathartic moment where you release stress through feeling strong emotions. Though we mostly play for diversion at times there have been moments when our games have gotten emotional or have had a strong emotional reaction to a situation. Saul and Jolene believe that GMs especially ones that run games with high emotional content be prepared to deal with the ramifications of running those games and be aware that those games may "trigger" players. As always thank you all for listening and please share with family and friends on your social networks. Music by, U Can Unlearn Guitar, song U Needed Me (Cathartic Karaoke) From the album: 2 Digitizdat: The Circumvention of Populace Censure

Like a snow leopard fresh from the kill, the slam chasm's a beast that comes at you rare and bloody. All this gabbing about gluttony puts me in mind of my old friend farmer Nuval. Now, farmer Nuval was no stranger to blood, I don't suppose that many folks living around these parts are, but he'd never seen it bubbling up from the ground before.LIST OF BORROWED WORKS:0.10: Peter Walker with Jack Rose - Live Dublab Sprout Session0.14: Janina Frank - The General and the Rose0.23: Efa Hfaille - Le Retour Des Fantomes0.28: Jeremy Cohen - Rose Room0.37: Studio Noir - Strella Sing a Singsong to the Moon2.39: THEME - People Like Us - Blue Bayou4.12: Lee Rosevere - Gentle Whispering (radio edit)6.38: U Can Unlearn Guitar - uronpartytrain7.34: Soonar - Attracts9.16: Crno dete - Denet11.00: Lee Rosevere - Gentle Whispering (radio edit)12.31: Janina Frank - The Heart is a Mine16.18: Latch Swing - Menilmontant17.30: Lee Rosevere - Gentle Whispering (radio edit)19.02: Interlude - Olvido25.19: Lee Rosevere - Gentle Whispering (radio edit)28.28: THEME: People Like Us - Blue Bayou
