Changing The Stars, a Memoir by Cody Renegar...In his personal memoir, Cody shares many of his broken and shattered moments that led to his beautiful scars. It’s a story of how he helped break the cycle of abuse in his family tree. He refused to be a victim of his past and he overcame years of abuse and now lives a life of positivity. The years of violence he endured growing up he chose to look at and receive as beautiful gifts. He takes you back to when as a small child he was dragged around with his sisters and brothers by an alcoholic, abusive mother. They lived anywhere from old warehouses, to abandoned cabins on the sides of nameless country roads, to a cardboard slat under a bridge overpass, to a haunted run down house, to a honkytonk bar. His mother’s friend’s forced him to smoke a joint at 4 years old. He and his sisters were sexually abused by the mom’s friends as well. He and his siblings were finally taken away from their mom for due to: Physical, sexual, emotional abuse, malnutrition, neglect and more. Cody and his siblings finally escaped the hell of his mom’s upbringing only to be put in a brutal Foster home in Arkansas where they were again physically and sexually abused. When Cody went to school with the whole left side of his face bruised, an obvious handprint on there and his eye swollen shut, that was the final proof of the abuse. It would have been recognized earlier if not for the huge failure of the system. When they were finally taken out of that home they had experienced every single abuse on Kadishuns list of abuse and three more abuses based on their experiences were added to the law. The only temporary relief Cody and his siblings ever got was at the Rainbow House with the Gateleys one of the few decent people they came into contact with in a sea of evil ones.Their goal was to stay together but eventually they were split up. Cody was adopted by a prestigious family with the most dreamy and beautiful places he’d ever seen! The gleam of this shiny new home faded quickly and the dream became a nightmare. Cody’s adopted father had learned disciplinary, violent corporal punishment ways from his lieutenant colonel father and he did not break the cycle of abuse.  Cody’s adopted dad tied Cody’s hands over the saddle, pulled Cody’s shirt over his head and his pants to his ankles, and he whipped Cody relentlessly, He didn’t stop until Cody lay on the ground, blinded, naked and screaming, after being falsely accused of something truly horrible. At school that week was the Scoliosis test and when he lifted his shirt, half of it was stuck to his back from his still open wounds. Cody survived all this as a child and became a caring, successful hairstylist and artist, who became a crusader who fought for marriage rights in Arkansas as he raised a son as a single gay dad. The stories in the book show how Cody and his sister Sue are proof that one can overcome horrible situations in the past and live good productive lives.

In this episode, Cody has a conversation with Jerremy Santacrose, who’s also known by his rap alias, AKream, from back in the Arctic Flow days. Arctic Flow was an Alaskan rap group that started in 1999, and went on to influence and define what authentic Alaskan rap should sound like. The group consisted of Jerremy, Josh Boots, Soiled Seed, Nauseous and Alkota—four rappers and a beatmaker. Jerremy says that a defining characteristic of the group was that everyone and everything they did was so sincere. They were living in the moment, often caught up in illicit activity, and producing music that mirrored their lives. Arctic flow unofficially disbanded in 2010. Jerremy says there was no big falling out, the group had just become stagnant and everyone wanted to go their separate ways. He also acknowledges that some of his actions most likely caused the disintegration of the group. And while it may be unlikely that we’ll ever hear an Arctic Flow reunion, the albums they put out and the shows that they did will forever be etched into the history of the Alaskan rap scene. Jerremy doesn’t go by AKream anymore, his new rap alias is Kream Soda. Recently out of prison, he’s now on the path of clean living, self-discovery and self-awareness. He’s working on new music and he’s putting out a new episode of The Kream Soda Podcast every week. When Cody originally contacted him about being on the podcast and talking about potentially sensitive things like Arctic Flow, drug addiction and prison, he said he was an open book because otherwise, what’s the point?

Engineer, philanthropist and businesswoman, Gina Cody recounts her life trajectory as an Iranian immigrant to becoming one of Canada's most influential women. Listen now! Gina Parvaneh Cody takes more than a keen interest in lofty concepts of gender diversity, social inclusion, philanthropy and affordable education. As Concordia University's first woman to earn a Ph.D. in building engineering, her story is a remarkable tale of generosity and influence. When Cody is not espousing the benefits of “smart cities” or actively encouraging young women to pursue the “wonderful” world of engineering, she reminds Canadians not to be complacent about their enviable status on the global stage. As for family enterprises, Cody believes they have a twin role to play as economic engines and caretakers of our communities. It's a recipe for opportunity, which includes a key ingredient: giving back. In 2018, Dr. Cody made a historic $15 million gift to her alma mater's Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science. In honour of her generosity, the faculty was renamed the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science. It is the first engineering faculty in Canada named after a woman. Cody, who immigrated to Canada from Iran in 1979, holds a master's degree and a doctorate in building engineering from Concordia. She has more than 30 years of professional practice in the private sector as an engineer, corporate executive and principal shareholder of an engineering firm. She has provided engineering services to some of Canada's largest Real Estate Investment Trusts, financial institutions, builders and developers.

STORIES FROM THE ROAD 2 WRECKS. What would you do if you witnessed a tractor-trailer run off the road into some trees? Would you stop and render help? Thats what TalkCDL's Cody Jackson did. Just outside of St. Louis MO Cody was driving in his semi truck when right in front of him int happened. A semi truck that was traveling in front of him just disappeared. It least that is what Cody's mind was telling him, or maybe the driver took an exit> Wait a minute Cody thought, there is no exit in this area. So did the driver wreck? Sure enough, thats exactly what happened. A trucker pulling a reefer some how went off the interstate and crashed. So when Cody finally gathered his thoughts he immediately pulled off the side of the road and ran down the bank. He would have to fight his way to get to the semi-truck that was trapped in the trees. Waiting by his side Trucker Cody STORIES FROM THE ROAD 2 WRECKS. When Cody finally got to the cab of the rig he was released to see the driver was alive. Before he got there he thought by the looks of the truck there was no way anyone could have survived the crash but there he was, sitting up and alert. Trapped in the cab, Cody would stay by the drivers side while keeping him awake with questions while staying calm. Cody videoed the event which was met with great reviews of his act of kindness. This was a great example of people coming to the aid of others. Cody Jackson was called a hero by many and well deserved. Trucker Cody's Grandfather Cody told us the story of his grandfather. he told us how he looked up to his grandfather all his life and how his grandfather inspired him.
