It's Friday. Pause for a breath you didn't know you were holding. Exhale. This week's Soft Landings affirmation is for the woman who's tired of measuring herself against someone else's yardstick. For midlife women exhausted from the endless performance of worth.Today's Affirmation:"I release the belief that my worth is defined by what I've been taught to buy, do, or become."You don't need the right house, the right body, the right title to matter. You don't need to achieve enough, accumulate enough, or transform enough to be worthy.Your worth isn't a product. It isn't a performance. It isn't a before-and-after photo. This weekly self-worth affirmation for women in midlife is a gentle reminder: you're already whole. Worthy without the purchase. Worthy without the productivity. Worthy without the perfect transformation. What would it feel like to stop chasing someone else's definition of enough? Not because you've proven anything. Not because you've earned the right. Just because you're already whole.Save. Share. Come back when you need the reminder.

Have you ever felt like you're doing all the right things but nothing is really changing? In this episode, we talk about how easy it is to focus on the latest trend — a new workout, a new diet, or a new “fix” — and miss the bigger picture of what actually needs to change. None of these things are bad, but when we use them to avoid the real work, we stay stuck. After you listen, I'd love to hear from you. Send me a message on Facebook or email me and tell me what you thought you needed to do before this episode — and what you realized you actually need to focus on now. Reflection questions: What do I want my life and health to look like one year from now? Does what I'm doing right now actually support that? What got in my way last week? Be specific. Where do I tend to go off the rails — weekends, stress, social events, boredom? Am I looking for a shortcut instead of a habit? What feels uncomfortable that I keep avoiding? If I stopped chasing new plans, what's one boring thing I know would help? Mentioned in this episode:
I once heard a woman say that when her son was diagnosed with cancer, she knew she had to be impeccable with her self-care so she could show up as her best self. She needed to ensure her diet, sleep, and exercise fueled her with the bandwidth she needed. The state of the world is...a lot. It's easy to feel overwhelmed and anxious, and that's why I've decided to make self-care the focus of the next few months. To help you come up with some practices that will give you the bandwidth you need. Self-care is one of the pillars of my life. I've learned that if I don't make it a habit, I tend to run myself into the ground. In the next few months, I'm going to go into detail about my self-care practices from skincare to diet/supplements to movement to time with friends, and hopefully you can pick up some nuggets and craft some self-care rituals of your own. If you're a woman over 40 who feels stuck in the cycle of starting over with weight loss, workouts, or healthy habits, this episode is for you. In this episode, we talk about what real consistency actually looks like (hint: it's not perfection), why all-or-nothing thinking keeps you stuck, and how habits built with grace lead to lasting weight loss, more energy, and confidence. We also dive into why quick fixes and extreme approaches don't work long term — especially during perimenopause and menopause — and how accountability can change everything. You'll learn how to stop restarting, build habits that stick, and finally move forward without pressure or burnout. Mentioned in this episode:
If you're over 40 and feel like the old "eat less, move more" advice isn't working anymore, you're not alone. In this episode, I'm joined by Alicia Jones to talk about why most women are falling short on protein in midlife — and the simple, realistic shifts that can support muscle, metabolism, and steady energy without extreme dieting. If you're over 40 and feel like your energy, strength, or body composition has shifted — you're not imagining it. One of the biggest gaps I see in midlife women is protein intake. Most women are simply not getting enough, and in perimenopause and menopause that can quietly affect muscle, metabolism, cravings, inflammation, and how you feel day to day. In this episode of Living Life Naturally, I'm joined by fitness and weight loss strategist Alicia Jones, who helps women over 45 transform their health through realistic nutrition and training strategies. We talk about what changes during hormonal transition, why extreme calorie restriction can backfire, and how supporting lean muscle can make midlife health and weight goals feel more doable again. In This Episode, We Discuss: Why most women over 40 are falling short on protein (and why it matters more in midlife) How perimenopause and menopause can increase muscle loss risk Why protecting lean muscle supports metabolic rate and long-term quality of life Protein targets to aim for: 20–30 grams per meal (and daily guidance based on body weight/activity) Why drastic calorie cutting can make results harder in midlife Easy protein strategies that don't require a complete diet overhaul Smart swaps (like higher-protein yogurt options) and how to read labels Added sugars vs naturally occurring sugars (what to pay attention to) A simple "log one day of food" approach to identify hidden gaps (especially protein and fiber) Midlife fitness mindset shifts: quality over quantity, resistance training, and practical ways to add intensity into everyday movement Key Takeaway Midlife doesn't require harsher restriction — it requires smarter support. When protein and strength are prioritized, many women notice improvements in energy, satiety, strength, and body composition — without the burnout of constant dieting. About Alicia Jones Alicia Jones helps transform the health and lives of women over 45 through her fitness and weight loss strategies. I want to hear your thoughts about the show and this episode. Text us here...What if aging wasn't something to fight, but something to honor? In this heartfelt and deeply inspiring conversation, Julie DeLucca-Collins sits down with entrepreneur and skincare founder Cathi Carrier to talk about confidence, reinvention, trusting yourself, and building a business aligned with your values.Cathi's journey began as a young girl struggling with acne and self-confidence. That challenge sparked a lifelong passion for skincare, eventually leading her to build an award-winning spa, Bella Estetica, and later launch Purely Bella, a clean skincare brand created specifically for women over forty. Along the way, she navigated single motherhood, financial hustle, entrepreneurship, self-doubt, faith, and the courage to start again from scratch. This episode is about so much more than skincare. It is about listening to your instincts, letting go of other people's opinions, creating alignment in your business, embracing aging with grace, and choosing brave moves over perfect ones.If you've ever felt pulled toward a new chapter but wondered if you're too late, too old, or too unsure, this conversation will meet you right where you are. What You'll Hear in This Episode • Why she believes confidence is built through lived experience, not perfection • The leap from employee to spa owner and how she pushed through self-doubt • Lessons from single motherhood, hustling, and rebuilding life from the ground up • Why trusting your gut is essential in business and life • The power of having — or becoming — your own support system • How Cathi built a spa rooted in safety, care, and empowerment for women • The importance of knowing your values and ideal client in business • Funny Cape Cod stories, including the infamous waxing pivot moment • Why self-care is not selfish and how inner health shows up in your skin • A holistic approach to skincare, wellness, and aging gracefully • Launching Purely Bella and creating products for women in midlife • Redefining beauty as healthy, radiant, confident skin at every ageWebsite: purelybellabeSupport the showOther helpful resources for you: For more about me and what I do, check out my website.
