we like to shoot compound bows. we like to brew beer. we like to drink beer. keep your bows tuned and your beer cold.
We are back!! we try some beers and BS. Some things never change
JohnnyVan and the BowDawg sit down in our own homes and use Skype to engage in a conversation and record a podcast. most of the podcast was spent reflecting on our first few days in brazilian jiu jitsu at 10th Planet Woodbridge. Maybe one day sometime in the hopefully not too distant future and we will sit down again and reflect on our continued journey with BJJ (acronym is way easier).
The Bows & Brew crew returns for a conversation of some reflection. Reflection over a challenge about abdominal muscles. The future readiness of training in brazilian jut jitsu. Homebrewing in general. And it was done so with normal levels of audio...why? Because the loud member of the crew...BrewMaster Alan arrived a little late and the BowDawg and JohnnyVan, the original creative genius, sat down and engaged in conversation that did not drown each other out. Boom, normal sound levels.
The Bows and Brew crew have now filled, chilled, pressurized, drank, and kicked our first keg of beer. A glorious WitBier that barely made it a week. This episode probably blows as we recorded during the latter portion of our evening as we were playing some video games. We drank, shot arrows, drank, are, and then drank some more as we played video games until we emptied the keg. Good times. This episode may actually blow, but please listen while you are enjoying a similar time and smile as we goof on JohnnyVan kicking our butts and us talking smack as he beats our ass in Goldeneye. Nintendo 64 is so fun...graphics are subpar compared to today's standards...time flies.
We come together (minus TreeBear, he was with lil TreeBear) to listen to some vinyls (courtesy of JohnnyVan) and brew some beer. We brewed a batch a Wit Bier which is probably more suited to Summer or Spring, but still, once you've had that 60 degree day in January...all we can think about it archery practice in the Spring anyway. Then we played some Tekken 2 on the BrewMaster's PSone...like, original PSone, I was amazed it still worked. Epic! I, the bowdawg, kicked some ass in Tekken with all characters...then JohnnyVan kicked our ass in Mortal Kombat...totally fake fighting game. with "Real Aktors". Pish posh. Next time, Virtua Fighter...and perhaps more Tekken! Booyah! Keep 'em cold folks!
The Bows and Brew crew get together for a Christmas celebration. We talk. We eat. We drink. It was raining that day...so we couldn't shoot our bows, but we talked Home Brew and drank some Home Brewed and other Craft Beers! Life is good.
So this episode was recorded before thanksgiving. It was only a trio as the TreeBear was not present. He was up a tree somewhere completely legally hunting. We recorded at CASA de brewmaster as usual, in the dark while drinking. We hope that we didn't talk over each other too bad.
after the recording of Jiggling Cheeks, JohnnyVan suggests that we record some more during the actual boiling of our wort. So, the jet propulsion you hear is the outdoor burner whilst we brew our beer...an IPA in this case. This was recorded prior to being trumped. Boom.
we talk and brew some beer. we enjoy some absinthe and international beers and domestic beers and even some home brew.we eat brats. we talk smack. all that was missing was some gamemeats and a hairy man massage for the brewmaster...you'll have to listen to understand this episodes title and the hairy man jokes. lol. good times
as we prep to bottle a batch of beer, an Amber Ale, we drink, shoot arrows (mostly into targets), and eat some awesome bear stew...oh wait, the bear stew was after the episode finished. we got some backyard tuning done as well. archery is fun stuff. keep those beers cold!
