On this year's Christmas Spectacular episode of Out of Office: A Travel Podcast, Kiernan and Ryan hang up their socks and trade merry greetings. They discuss the official death of the Ugly Ornament Competition, the history of British Christmas crackers (no, they're not crackers), and their favorite Christmas tunes (including a Ryan original).. And for the Anglophiles out there, the boys sing the praises of one of the US's best importers of British goods, happily located right in Acton, MA. Well. It is here! The 2025 Christmas Spectacular has arrived and it is jam packed with Christmas cheer. First, Scott, Mike, Harry, and Dom take a trip down memory lane and receive gifts from the 1984 Sear's Christmas catalog. Then, a true Christmas miracle occurs. The guys participate in a game entitled "The Santa Clause 4" where they must compete to see who is the next Santa. You won't believe who joined the show to judge the answers. The big man from the North Pole himself, the one and only, Santa Claus! Listen as the guys compete and help raise money for charity. A must listen for the holiday season. For more info on the best Santa around, make sure to visit www.SantaPeteNj.com Our Christmas episodes wouldn't be complete without a unique Christmas guest. This year, we are joined by a man who has spent a lifetime excavating the bone-chilling folklore of the Alps and the arcane traditions of the past. He is the preeminent authority on the Krampus, the host of the hauntingly brilliant Bone and Sickle podcast, and the author of the definitive guide to the winter's darkest spirits. Please welcome... Episode 350 is a Christmas-season milestone for The Kibbe & Friends Show, and the guys deliver exactly what the week before Christmas calls for: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation with all the extra flavor only K&F can add. Rob, Corndog, and Bernie celebrate the “small block Chevy” episode number, clink moose mugs, share the good news that Holley is back for 2026, and recap a successful Toys for Tots push—setting the table for a holiday episode that feels equal parts tradition, gratitude, and pure fun. From there, the crew dives into why Christmas Vacation still works no matter how many times you've seen it. They talk about aging from Rusty into Clark Griswold, revisit the scenes that still make them laugh every single time, and swap favorite moments that prove it's not about the plot—it's about delivery, timing, and how real the chaos feels. Along the way, they sprinkle in car-guy details, Vacation lore, and a killer behind-the-scenes nugget about a scripted ending that never made the final cut. If this movie is part of your yearly ritual, this episode will make you want to queue it up again as soon as the show ends. They also blind taste 3 different Bourbons/Ryes each for a grand total of 15 blind pours. Each Crew member gives his/her notes on each during each round and then tries to guess which pour they had. In this holly and jolly episode of Sorry, We Tried, IT'S CHRISTMAS! HO HO HO! And as a special gift, we FINALLY sat down to record a new episode that's been years in the making. For years, we've done a tournament where we argue which Christmas movie character is the strongest, but this time... it's different. Spencer created a bracket of the craziest, most untouchable opponents he's ever assembled. A who's-who of Christmas powerhouses that can't be beat. Who will come out on top of our FINAL CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT EVER???? The Grinch? Krampus? Someone else I won't spoil? Also in this episode, Harrison brings a special guest in for color commentary. Robby names his favorite movie of the year so far. Spencer has a little bit too much fun. And the guys declare themselves survivors of the Battle of Whoville.Website: sorrywetried.comMerch: bit.ly/swtmerchInstagram: @swtpodcastTwitter: @sorrywetriedEmail: thepodcastmen@gmail.com(As always, a huge thank you to Richard Hackley for the music.)Send us a textSupport the show

Following our Christmas Spectacular, Pastor Adam brings a compelling message titled Searching based on Matthew 2. Pastor Adam challenges us to reconsider the Magi's journey, not as wandering seekers, but as recipients of God's devine guidance. This message reminds us that God is actively drawing us to Himself in the midst of our chaos. Ask yourself in the midst of your life are you truly searching or are you simply not seeing? Tune into this message and be encouraged.

What are the perfect ingredients for a stress-free Christmas? How do you render the Arctic in song? And what does it sound like when we drink from each other's teats? … Just three of the hot topics being debated in our annual festive knees-up! Joining Olly Mann, Alix Fox and Ollie Peart this year, we welcome back family mediator Nick Coffer - who confronts the strains of a post-divorce Christmas with compassionate advice - and we enjoy extraordinary live music from cellist and poet Sarah Smout. Plus, fresh updates from some of our favourite guests of 2026: Rebecca Dowdeswell, the woman who took on L'Oreal; Armin Samii, who created distance-monitoring app UberCheats; and wildland firefighter Nathan Bell. Until our next episode on January 10th, have a fantastic Christmas, a very Happy New Year, and - if you can afford to - remember to support our independent podcast to fund another great year of the show. x Olly, Alix, Ollie and Producer Matt P.S. Famous for their ‘eye-high' kicks, the Rockettes have performed in every Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade since 1957, and more than 72 million people have attended their annual Christmas Spectacular that first debuted in 1933. As if that weren't impressive enough, this year the iconic precision dance troupe also celebrates its 100th anniversary! How did the group evolve from the 1925 “Missouri Rockets,” whose primary purpose was performing before and after movies, to today's world-renowned dance company? What does it take to become a Rockette? How does math play a role in the complicated process of choreographing their routines? What are some highlights from the troupe's history? And how DO they pull off some of those moves, like the famous toy soldier fall? We discuss all this and more! It's time for the Storytime for Grownups Christmas Spectacular!Storytime for Grown-Ups is a podcast that will help you learn to love classic literature. Whether we choose to admit it or not, many of us find the great books of the past inaccessible. The language is dense, the vocabulary is unfamiliar, and the characters seem old-fashioned. Too often, these books are thrown aside as boring or too difficult even if their plots intrigued us to begin with. But these books are classics for a reason—we just need a way in. For the months of November and December, host Faith Moore will read a Christmas-themed book aloud: one chapter per episode. As she reads, she'll pause from time to time to give brief explanations that will make it easier to follow along. Like an audio book with built-in notes. And the more you listen, the easier the language will seem.So brew a pot of tea (or a mug of hot chocolate), find a cozy chair, throw another log on the fire, and settle in. It's storytime! The Storytime for Grownups Christmas Spectacular premieres Monday November 3rd 2024, with new episodes dropping every Monday and Thursday. Learn more here: https://faithkmoore.com/Support the show

The 5th and final show in our 2025 Summer Vacation in Branson Series welcomes the Coopers, Clay and Tina. He moved to Branson in 1986 to join the Texas Gold Minors and has since performed in numerous shows, including Country Tonite, where he spent nine years as lead vocalist and emcee. Tina Cooper began dancing at the age of three at her mom's studio in the garage of their home. Tina continued her training through high school and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Music Theatre from the University of Oklahoma. She has been seen on several Branson stages performing in shows including Country Tonite, Celebrate America, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Dino's Christmas Spectacular, Red Hot and Blue! What's it like when you are the only African American dancer in a world of all white dancers? Lisa continues our very special interview with Jennifer Jones, the first African American Rockette. Jennifer talks about growing up seeing Broadway shows with her parents. She told her high school guidance counselor that she wanted to go to college and major in dance. Her counselor told her that she wasn't ready for college yet, although at a very early age, she always dreamed of being on stage. She was so passionate and started at a local community college before moving to New York City, auditioning, and getting hired to be a Rockette. She talks about how spectacular Radio City Music Hall is. It literally took her breath away! She shares the excitement of the famous Christmas Spectacular show and how she poured her heart into each show. She was performing up to six shows a day. Jennifer discusses resilience, and what she had to break through to make her dreams come true. She noted that this year is the 100-year anniversary of the Rockettes and a big event will be planned to celebrate. She also talks about her challenges, and how important it is to believe in yourself. She discusses the importance of being resilient. When she turned 50, she went to her doctor to request a colonoscopy. The doctor told her she was young and had nothing to worry about as she was healthy and had no family members with colorectal cancer. Jennifer listened to her powerful intuition and got a colonoscopy anyway. The doctors determined that she had colorectal cancer, and she was told she had five years to live. She felt embarrassed by this diagnosis as she was always the “healthy one” in her family. She was physically fit and a vegetarian. She met with a specialist and had four rounds of chemotherapy. To the amazement of her doctors, the tests showed dramatic improvement. She explains how she decided to meditate more, let go of toxic relationships, drink green juices, and so much more. She knew she needed to change the way she ate and the way she thought. In 2019, she was deemed cancer-free! Jennifer talks about testing early for colorectal cancer, and especially in the African American community. If there's a history in your family, it's important to test even earlier. She shares how her symptoms started as pressure in her abdomen, so she began changing her diet and meeting with doctors. She talks about organizations who can offer early detection and additional support including Colorectal Cancer Alliance: https://colorectalcancer.org and Colon Cancer Foundation: https://coloncancerfoundation.org. Jennifer's groundbreaking memoir is titled “Becoming Spectacular: The Rhythm of Resilience from the First African American Rockette.” This is Part 2 of the interview. Info: rockettejenn.com.
