Asserting that no place in Pakistan remained safe for terrorists, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told soldiers at the Adampur air base in Punjab that India's drones, and missiles gave sleepless nights to Pakistan. His speech came a day after his first public address since India launched Operation Sindoor. PM Modi also reiterated the new 3-point doctrine he had unveiled a day earlier, including that New Delhi will no longer tolerate nuclear blackmail. During his early morning visit to Adampur, the Prime Minister hailed the Indian Air Force personnel, saying that they made every Indian proud, and had created history. Modi got briefed by the Air Force personnel on the situation, and also interacted with jawans. Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a key briefing with military chiefs on Tuesday, with the CDS, Army Chief, Navy Chief, Vice Air Chief and Defence Secretary in attendance.India's Operation Sindoor precision strikes destroyed nearly 20% of Pakistan Air Force infrastructure and multiple fighter jets, official sources said Tuesday. The strikes targeted key bases like Sargodha and Bholari, which housed F-16s and JF-17s, in retaliation to Pakistani drone and missile attacks. Over 50 people, including Squadron Leader Usman Yusuf, were killed in Bholari. India also hit ammunition depots and several other airbases across Pakistan. Satellite imagery confirmed major damage. The strikes mark a significant strategic and psychological blow to Pakistan's military capabilities. In a verdict six years in the making, the Mahila Court in Coimbatore on Tuesday convicted all nine accused in the 2019 Pollachi sexual assault case and awarded them life imprisonment. The nine men were found guilty of multiple charges, including criminal conspiracy, sexual harassment, rape, gangrape, and extortion. The incident, which came out just weeks before the 2019 general elections, led to Tamil Nadu's then ruling AIADMK getting politically cornered with allegations of inaction and links to the accused. President Droupadi Murmu has sought the Supreme Court's opinion under Article 143(1) on whether timelines can be legally imposed on the President and Governors for acting on state Bills. This comes after the Court, in April, set a three-month deadline for the President to act on Bills referred by Governors, despite no such timeline existing in Article 201 of the Constitution. The Court stated that delays beyond this period must be explained to the concerned state. The President now seeks clarity on whether these directives are justiciable.Following India's move to place the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in abeyance after the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan has shown willingness for talks for the first time. Pakistan's Water Resources Secretary Syed Ali Murtaza has reportedly responded to India's notification and offered to discuss New Delhi's specific objections. India's decision came in response to the attack, which heightened diplomatic tensions. The IWT, signed in 1960, governs water sharing between the two nations. Pakistan's response marks a rare shift, potentially opening the door to dialogue amid ongoing hostilities.

For many states, March marks the halfway point for legislative session and aptly coincides with the excitement and chaos of March Madness. In 2025, March seems to have a little more madness with a new presidential administration and state attorneys general around the country asserting their prerogative in policy debates at both the state and federal levels.

The purpose of personal jurisdiction is to ensure that a court has the authority to compel a defendant to appear and litigate in a particular forum. This authority is constitutionally grounded in the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, which requires that a defendant have sufficient connections with the forum state.General personal jurisdiction exists when a defendant's contacts with the forum state are so systematic and continuous that they can be sued there for almost any matter, even if the underlying events occurred elsewhere (e.g., a corporation's principal place of business is in the state). Specific personal jurisdiction arises when the lawsuit stems directly from the defendant's contacts with the forum state (e.g., a contract signed and performed within the state). The two primary bases for federal subject matter jurisdiction are federal question jurisdiction and diversity jurisdiction. Federal question jurisdiction allows federal courts to hear cases arising under the Constitution, federal laws, or treaties, while diversity jurisdiction permits federal courts to hear cases between citizens of different states or between a state citizen and a foreign national, provided the amount in controversy exceeds $75,000.The well-pleaded complaint rule dictates that for a case to fall under federal question jurisdiction, the federal issue must be presented on the face of the plaintiff's properly pleaded complaint. It is not sufficient for a federal question to arise only as a defense or a counterclaim.Venue rules determine the specific district within a court system where a case should be heard, focusing on the convenience of the parties and witnesses, and the location of evidence or the events at issue. Factors determining proper venue often include the defendant's residence, where a substantial part of the events occurred, or where property involved in the lawsuit is located.Following Twombly and Iqbal, a complaint must contain sufficient factual matter, accepted as true, to state a claim to relief that is plausible on its face. This requires more than conclusory statements or a recitation of the elements of a cause of action; the factual allegations must allow the court to draw the reasonable inference that the defendant is liable for the misconduct alleged. When responding to a complaint, a defendant can file an answer, admitting or denying the plaintiff's allegations and asserting any affirmative defenses, or file a pre-answer motion under Rule 12(b) to raise defenses like lack of jurisdiction or failure to state a claim. Asserting affirmative defenses in the answer is crucial because failure to do so can result in their waiver.Under Rule 15, a party may amend its pleading once as a matter of course within 21 days after serving the original pleading, or if the pleading is one to which a responsive pleading is required, 21 days after service of a responsive pleading or 21 days after service of a motion under Rule 12(b), (e), or (f), whichever is earlier. The "minimum contacts" test, established in International Shoe Co. v. Washington, states that for a court to exercise personal jurisdiction over a non-resident defendant, that defendant must have sufficient contacts with the forum state such that the exercise of jurisdiction does not offend traditional notions of fair play and substantial justice. These contacts must be purposeful and related to the claim. The "amount in controversy" requirement for diversity jurisdiction currently stands at more than $75,000, exclusive of interest and costs. This threshold is important because it ensures that federal courts, when exercising jurisdiction based solely on the diverse citizenship of the parties, are addressing cases of sufficient financial significance.

The important stuff is still intact."In the full interview we talk about Australia being like a second home, how good it feels to have half the tour sold out before they even board the plane over here, touring with Millencolin and why the two bands work well together, what we can expect live, his early days in the band and getting used to being in a band he previously loved, sticking to your guns musically and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

Jonathan is the author or coauthor of more than a dozen books, including Reconstructing the Gospel, The Third Reconstruction, and Strangers at My Door.  About White Poverty: How Exposing Myths About Race and Class Can Reconstruct American Democracy (Liveright, 2024): One of the most pernicious and persistent myths in the United States is the association of Black skin with poverty. Though there are forty million more poor white people than Black people, most Americans, both Republicans and Democrats, continue to think of poverty--along with issues like welfare, unemployment, and food stamps--as solely a Black problem. Why is this so? What are the historical causes? And what are the political consequences that result? These are among the questions that the Reverend Dr. William J. Barber II, a leading advocate for the rights of the poor and the "closest person we have to Dr. King" (Cornel West), addresses in White Poverty, a groundbreaking work that exposes a legacy of historical myths that continue to define both white and Black people, creating in the process what might seem like an insuperable divide. Analyzing what has changed since the 1930s, when the face of American poverty was white, Barber, along with Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, addresses white poverty as a hugely neglected subject that just might provide the key to mitigating racism and bringing together tens of millions of working class and impoverished Americans. Thus challenging the very definition of who is poor in America, Barber writes about the lies that prevent us from seeing the pain of poor white families who have been offered little more than their "whiteness" and angry social media posts to sustain them in an economy where the costs of housing, healthcare, and education have skyrocketed while wages have stagnated for all but the very rich. Asserting in Biblically inspired language that there should never be shame in being poor, White Poverty lifts the hope for a new "moral fusion movement" that seeks to unite people "who have been pitted against one another by politicians (and billionaires) who depend on the poorest of us not being here." Analyzing what has changed since the 1930s, when the face of American poverty was white, Barber, along with Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, addresses white poverty as a hugely neglected subject that just might provide the key to mitigating racism and bringing together tens of millions of working class and impoverished Americans. Asserting in Biblically inspired language that there should never be shame in being poor, White Poverty lifts the hope for a new "moral fusion movement" that seeks to unite people "who have been pitted against one another by politicians (and billionaires) who depend on the poorest of us not being here." My guest today is Jonathon Wilson-Hartgrove. Wilson-Hartgrove is a writer, preacher, and moral activist. He is an assistant director at the Center for Public Theology and Public Policy at Yale Divinity School. Wilson-Hartgrove lives with his family at the Rutba House, a house of hospitality in Durham, North Carolina that he founded with H his wife, Leah. Wilson-Hartgrove directs the School for Conversion, a popular education center in Durham committed to "making surprising friendships possible," and is an associate minister at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church. This horoscope is for the new moon in Leo, which happens on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at 7:13 a.m. ET.Book a reading with me on my website at etherealastrology.com/readings.We are now trying to do more of what is in our own best self interest (as well as what is easier, quicker, shorter, and more fun) to a greater extent than we have been previously and with more courage. We are also very passionate about these behaviors and are hopeful that it will work out. However, when we begin to take action towards these things and communicate about them with others, something starts to go wrong unexpectedly. This can take the form of unexpected disagreements or confusing conversations with others about what we are doing. It can also take the form of unexpected setbacks or losses with money. It can also take the form of us unexpectedly losing confidence or having low self-esteem.As a result, we may lose steam on these actions we were first so excited about. We may also feel stuck, frustrated, confused, or hurt. The reason at the root cause of why we are stuck and unable to proceed on our best interest is NOT because of those external factors with relationships and money.Instead, it is because of negative mindsets and wounds from the past that we have not dealt with. In particular, these are mindsets and wounds where we feel asserting our own self interest is selfish, lazy, not perfect enough, lonely, or exposing. As a result, I recommend that at this new moon we stick to our original intention to assert our own self-interest. However, we go about that in a much slower or more private way.I also recommend that we direct more of our attention inwards to healing these inner resistances and mindsets that are preventing us from fully owning what is in our own best interest. That will help us at a later time (after Mercury goes retrograde) go get what is in our best interest more easily and fully, without falling backwards or compromising it away.Contents of this video ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬(0:00) Introduction(1:40) General Themes(4:55) Past Context(20:55) Specifics(50:27) Summary(53:40) Other Notes(1:00:45) Inside Degrees(1:07:15) TarotFollow me on Instagram:http://www.instagram.com/ethereal_astrologyWatch me daily on Horoscope.com:https://www.horoscope.com/us/horoscopes/general/horoscope-overview-daily-today.aspxThe song in my intro and outro video is "Escape" by Sappheiros.License: Creative Commons (CC BY 3.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0Music powered by BreakingCopyright: https://breakingcopyright.com Hosted on Acast. Michelle Obama's Plea as Trump's Popularity Surges Among African Americans

The previous First Lady, Michelle Obama, recently tried to influence the African American populace by stating that casting their votes in the forthcoming November elections is absolutely crucial for the preservation of their 'freedom'. During a video message shared on an online platform, she expressed that the occasion of 'Juneteenth' should be seen as a celebration of collective freedom and as a reminder that its protection is always worth fighting for. In her message, she emphasized that the upcoming elections held a much larger significance than just a political choice. Asserting that various aspects such as individual power, fundamental rights and even the fate of the planet, are inextricably linked with the outcome of the polling. She urged the listeners to consider seriously their voting strategy and how they plan to utilize their democratic right to voice their choice in the imminent elections. Such a push from the ex-First Lady may mirror the fact that recent polls hint at a paradigm shift with Donald Trump, the former President, securing a historically high count of votes among African Americans. This indicates a noticeable turn of political allegiance among this demographic, which may influence the upcoming election's outcome. In her mission to bolster voter registration, Michelle Obama had formed an organization named 'When We All Vote' back in 2018. She promoted this initiative across her extensive online follower base of 22 million people, encouraging them to familiarize themselves with the organization via its website.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On a day that has now become typical, President Joe Biden, who has 81 years of age to his name, demonstrated another in a string of verbal errors while addressing the nation on Tuesday from the White House. The president was there to announce the implementation of new legal protections for a multitude of individuals residing in the country without official documentation. However, this recent verbal stumble is not a stand-alone event, it joins a series of gaffes that have characterized Biden's public appearances in recent times. The White House response has been a dismissal, dubbing the footage of these instances as fabricated. In the middle of this important announcement, the President appeared to struggle while introducing Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary of Homeland Security, his speech then deteriorating into a string of incoherent mutterings. It was not long before this gaffe became a hot topic on social media platforms, adding once again to the long list of public missteps from the President. In an attempt to downplay these incidents, on Monday, Karine Jean-Pierre, addressing the White House press, labelled the circulated videos showcasing the President's bloopers as nothing but deceptive manipulations aimed at misleading the American public. Asserting that the videos were 'cheap fakes', Jean-Pierre suggested that their dissemination was ill-intended. In her words, 'What you referred to as 'cheap fakes video', that's exactly the right term. These videos are not authentic. They are false and created with a malicious intent.' Jean-Pierre proceeded to claim that it was the right-wing press disseminating false materials, a conclusion she reached crediting fact-checking organizations that accuse these news outlets of spreading 'misinformations and disinformation'.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

No One Above Law: Biden's Son Under Scrutiny for Falsifying Gun Info

In the courtroom, it was firmly declared that 'no individual is exempt from the rule of law,' as allegations were leveled against Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden's son. Hunter is facing accusations for allegedly falsifying information about his drug habit while procuring firearms back in 2018. Asserting the compelling nature of the evidence, Prosecutor Leo Wise emphasized that Hunter Biden was grappling with a serious crack addiction when he made the affirmation on an obligatory firearms-purchase form that he wasn't engaged in illegal drug use or addiction. Prosecutor Leo Wise, in his concluding argument, evoked text messages allegedly illustrating Hunter Biden's attempts to negotiate drug transactions before and after his gun acquisition. These messages formed a significant portion of the evidence presented. The content of these messages was deeply personal and intense, amplifying the case's grim tone but deemed essential by Wise. Despite facing three felony charges arising from his gun procurement in October 2018, a weapon he possessed for merely 11 days, Hunter Biden pleaded innocent. He has firmly positioned these charges as political tactics, with the Biden family accusing the Justice Department of succumbing to former President Donald Trump and his allies' pressure to file this gun case, as well as additional independent tax charges, after their negotiation with prosecutors disintegrated last year. Defense for Hunter Biden engaged three witnesses, including his daughter Naomi, in an attempt to establish that Hunter didn't consider himself an 'addict' when completing the form. This case shines a spotlight on a tumultuous period in Hunter's life following the tragic loss of his brother, Beau, back in 2015. His trials and tribulations with addiction before his recovery over five years ago are well known.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Remember Donald Trump, the “swamp drainer”? In 2016, candidate Trump promised to end the grubby money corruption of American politics. “The special interests, lobbyists, donors,” he rightly and righteously noted “make large contributions to politicians and they have total control of those politicians.” Asserting that he knows the political rot better than anyone, he said he’d “fix that system, because that system is wrong.”

We live in a time where Asserting boundaries, well, abounds. And we praise those who do it. But, sometimes we seem to think that to be assertive means to include a level of intimidation or aggression. Although that is still assertiveness, it is now mixed in with something more that changes things. In this video, I distinguish what it means to be Assertive, Aggressive, and just a punk in general. #lifecoach #relationships #boundaries Also feel free to contact me and/or check out my other platforms! 'The View' Panics Over RFK Jr.'s Potential Threat to Biden and Handing Trump the Election

This week, a pointed critique was issued against Robert F. Kennedy Jr. by 'The View' co-anchor, Joy Behar. Asserting his alarmingly detrimental potential to President Biden's bid for a successful re-election, Behar declared Kennedy 'a significant hazard.' Just as disconcerting, she claimed, was the, according to her, peril he poses to our democratic system. During her segment, Behar aired a clip from Kennedy's recent sit-down with CNN's host, Erin Burnett, where he argued that the former President, Donald Trump, wielded a lesser threat to democracy compared to President Biden. The dialogue on the show transpired thusly: Goldberg initiated, 'No Label is not backing a candidate in the 2024 race, however, the name most frequently discussed regarding a third-party candidacy is Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Some rumors suggest that Democrats will lose votes to him, this narrative is being promoted by Republicans too. Yet, I question the legitimacy of these claims. I ask your opinion: what is your sentiment towards this prospective third-party situation?' FARAH GRIFFIN responded, 'Firstly, I would like to extend my heartfelt love and feel-good vibes to the Lieberman family; a family in politics that I have great respect for. It seems we are witnessing the twilight of centrist politics, an era of prioritizing policy-making that transcends party lines. On the subject of this third party, we mustn't underestimate RFK, even though some of his views are quite radical. He has the financial ability to run a campaign, he is organizing and is listed on the ballot in certain critical swing states such as Nevada.' Griffin added, 'Remember the 2016 elections, even Jill Stein was enough to deter Hillary Clinton from securing a victory in Michigan, thereby completely shifting the trajectory of the election. It's unclear as of now, who RFK stands to draw votes from. Accusations are being hurled around. Critics from the Trump camp label him as a left-wing liberal, implying he might attract right-wing votes.'See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
